SO. FRESH. I was in…read moreColumbus for a conference and stopped at Brassica for lunch, and I'm honestly kicking myself for not going every single day I was there! I had the falafel salad bowl and basically said, "Give me ALL the vegetables." I loaded that bowl up with every veggie they had to offer, and every single one was incredibly fresh and delicious. The falafel was fantastic, too! The staff was also so sweet, friendly, and accommodating, which made the experience even better. You can tell they really care about the food and the people they're serving. If you're in Columbus and looking for something fresh, flavorful, and satisfying, HIGHLY recommend Brassica! I only wish I had discovered it sooner so I could've eaten here every day of my trip!

We arrived fairly close to closing, which can sometimes be risky--some restaurants start cutting corners as the night winds down. Not here. Everything was incredibly fresh, and each bite took our palates on a culinary adventure that had us feeling like champions for choosing Brassica for dinner. The ingredients, flavors, and execution were all outstanding. If you haven't been here yet, do yourself a favor and go. Brassica continues to prove why it's one of our favorite places to eat whenever we're in town.

I wasn't able to return for a second meal but while attending Lost lands, I told numerous people about the location. The restaurant was very well kept and tidy. I couldn't have asked for a better place to have my first meal in Columbus. See yall next year!!

They had plenty of options, and since I had been wanting lamb for a while, I ordered the lamb kebab entrée. It came with pita, rice, a side salad, and roasted vegetables. Mine only had onions and peppers, but everything tasted really good. Their house-made hot sauce was absolutely delicious! Before leaving, I ordered food for my mother and grabbed a few desserts, including banana cream cheesecake and pistachio cream cake. They accidentally gave me a chocolate dessert instead of the banana cream, but it was okay. Everyone was pleasant, helpful, and informative, which is something I really value at a restaurant. There is plenty of seating both inside and outside, plus a more private area toward the back where I sat because I had homework to complete. Overall, I enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and service. I will definitely be coming back!

Cafe Istanbul used to be in our regular dining out rotation, but somehow it slipped aside. However,…read morethe location at Easton worked for us on a recent Saturday and were we ever glad it did! We went for lunch and the cool, welcoming interior on a hot summer day set the stage for a delicious meal. We started with the combination appetizer and their wonderful bread. Every item on the plate looked as good as it tasted. I particularly loved the cold eggplant and tomato dish. I had the blackened tilapia with rice and salad. Delicious! I would certainly order this again. My fellow diners had the shrimp and the lamb shank, a weekend special. I tasted both and loved both! I took half of my meal home because the appetizer was so substantial and my tilapia was a very generous serving. The wait staff were warm and friendly, but not intrusive, making Cafe Istanbul a very comfortable place. So glad we circled back to an old favorite! Menu last weekend,

Turkish food sounded like a welcome change of pace, and I was particularly excited about the manti. The restaurant has a comfortable, family-style atmosphere, somewhere between casual dining and a more upscale establishment. I was seated next to a larger family gathering, and while the service was perfectly adequate, it wasn't particularly memorable. Dinner started on a high note with warm, fluffy bread and a delicious sun-dried tomato sauce. Frankly, I could have made a meal out of those alone. The baba ganoush, unfortunately, was less exciting. Served cold, it was much more yogurt-forward than I expected, with only a hint of smoky eggplant and very little garlic. Perfectly edible, just not the robust, smoky dip I'd been hoping for. I wouldn't order it again. The manti, however, was the highlight of the meal. Tender little dumplings filled with wonderfully seasoned beef, generously covered in garlic yogurt and a warm tomato butter sauce. The red sauce was particularly delicious and really brought the dish together. The portion was surprisingly generous, especially after the appetizer. I'd also been eyeing the traditional Turkish puddings for dessert, but unfortunately ran out of both appetite and energy. Something to look forward to next time. Overall, a satisfying introduction to Turkish comfort food. Next time, I'll skip the cold appetizers, head straight for the manti, and perhaps leave enough room for dessert.
