This is a great option for a quick, healthy meal if you're in the area. You grab a menu upon entering and then order at the counter. All utensils and plates and water are serve-yourself near the door. At lunchtime on a warm Saturday in spring they had a steady trickle of guests coming in. The person who took our order thanked us for supporting them. Food was quick and very fresh. I had 1/2 tabbouleh salad and za'atar French fries. The tabbouleh is more heavy on the greens than the grain which was a refreshing change to me. It was dressed in a bright, fresh lemony dressing. More than I could eat in one sitting. The French fries are maybe dipped in batter and fried. I'm not sure. But they are super crispy on the outside and fluffy inside - delicious. The ambiance is casual with various TV screens showing different shows and Middle Eastern music playing on the speakers. The interior is simple but warm and inviting with minimal but fun decor. First time here. When you walk in the sign says to pick up a menu and seat yourself. Another sign says: order here. I went with the Lebanese burger and fries. I was not disappointed. The food is made fresh and everything comes out hot. The wait isn't that long. In the meantime there are 5 TVs on. It's a very casual place and they have been opened for two years now. The food is outstanding. The service is quick. The Lebanese Cauliflower is especially tasty. The kebabs (I've had the Kafta and the Beef on separate visits) are generous, juicy and filling. I'm a 4 rather than 5 stars for two reasons. First, informality is just fine for me. I don't require fine dining and the speed that comes with their set up is a plus. But at a place where one orders at the register and picks up your own silverware, plates, napkins, water glasses from a stand near the door, I do not expect to pay more formal dining prices. So $22.95 for Kafta kebab to $26.96 for beef kebob entrees is pushing my budget limits for making this a regular visit. Lamb chops are $32.95. Maybe the sign of times with price of beef these days but ouch. So open eyes - informal doesn't mean cheap. Second, the hummus was generous and tasty with olive oil drizzled on top. Yet the pita was both dry and room temperature. If it had come out of a bag at Kroger's I would have said, bummer but that is what I am paying for. Edible for sure but again, $13.95 for a standard app and then a mid 20s entree. Gets pricey in a hurry especially if buying for more than yourself. Habibi Grill is my go to Lebanese restaurant in the city; it is SO good! Their service is super speedy and the food is consistently delicious no matter what you get. My absolute favorite item is the chicken shish tawook wrap, it's the best I've ever had! Their hummus is delicious, and adding shawarma beef or shredded lamb to it, is the ultimate hack for the best loaded hummus! My friend and I ordered the vegetarian plate which had fasolia, houmus, falafel, baba ganoush, grape leaves, fried cauliflower, salad and fresh pita bread. Visiting Ohio for the weekend and found this place in DoorDash. Was ordering for a group and saw they had a combo platter on the app for $80. Filled us up with the rice given. The platter comes with one skewer of chicken tawook, chicken kafta, lamb kafta, and beef shawarma. Topped with pickled vegetables. The chicken tawook was tender and least dry of the bunch. I'm not sure where to start. I decided to treat myself to dinner. That's a rare financial splurge for me these days. It had been a while. While everything looked good on the menu, I wish I had read the reviews, especially the negative ones more clearly. I was thrilled to see the presentation my dishes came in. I ordered a half order of hummus, the okra stew, and Lebanese Knafeh. The hummus wasn't terrible, the presentation was beautiful. The saving grace was the olive oil, as that had a nice robust flavor. While the hummus was silky smooth, it lacked flavor. It was the most bland I've ever tasted. As for the okra stew, again, it was beautifully plated. And I love okra,.... I'm completely prepared for a somewhat gelatinous experience when folks don't know how to work with it well, but putting that aside, I honestly think the dish had been sitting in a warmer or food prep and reheated one too many times or something. There was a very mysterious tang on the back pallet and I highly suspect it was going / was bad. There really wasn't any meld of spices or flavor. Just bland tomato base with okra in it. But again, no flavor. Except for that distinct tangy funk of food turning. The yellow rice that accompanied the okra would've been the second best thing about the whole meal. But even then it really had no flavor. I'm not sure how you can do rice like that and have no flavor. I purchased the Knafeh dessert "to go" at the time of ordering my entrée and side. It arrived wrapped in saran wrap in a box with a ketchup packet type of syrup to garnish (sugar water, no orange blossom). I expected it to be ready to eat if I ordered it to go. Clarity on that might have been helpful. I'm kind of saddened by this because I would've liked to have actually had orange blossom syrup as promised on the menu. Also, the Knafeh is supposed to be layers of shredded phyllo but it was one solid block Saran-wrapped block of starchy Stuff. I didn't get much cheese flavor out of it either. While I ordered it to go, it still was supposed to have come with pistachios dusted on the top. That was not the case. While you order your own food, they do deliver it and clear the table for you. I don't feel like it was appropriate to basically force me to tip upon checkout. I could've opted for nothing or typed in a zero, but that also felt off. So this terrible meal sent me back about $46. The restaurant provides counter service with the food delivered to the tables after you order. I've been here a few times and crave it often! The restaurant itself is pretty spacious and has two dining areas. The parking is a bit tricky in their lot but there's street parking available. The restaurant is usually lively and busy, but it's welcoming. There's a self serve station for plates, utensils, seasonings, and water! We usually get a couple entrees to share and you really can't go wrong with anything. They also have platter options for groups and their portions are decently sized and filling. I really enjoy their lamb and beef options, they're flavorful and made well. Their hummus is absolutely delicious, I recommend! I also liked their spicy potato side dish, it was very good. I used to go to the Bethel Rd location under the same owner and we used to enjoy the food there as well. The location is a bit far for us now, but glad we tried Habibi Grill. This was a celebration meal post half marathon for a few. There is some parking right with the restaurant and if not, plenty of street parking nearby. The restaurant has fun decor inside and is a self service type of set up. You choose your table, go to the counter to order, and they will bring out the food to you. There is a water and utensils station, where you get your glasses, straws, napkins, plates, etc. I actually quite liked this option as it is not a big place and we could just get whatever we needed when we needed it, rather than waiting. The Lebanese burger was highly recommeded to me by frequent visitors, so I went with that. I was not disappointed! It was a huge burger with lots of flavor. I usually don't like coleslaw, but this one was bery different and more of a Lebanese pickle style, which went great with the burger. I also appreciated the char on the burger. You can order fries separately as a side. I think it can be a bit pricey like that and wish the fries were included. The hummus and pita was good and was shareable. The chicken shawarma was nice and tender and flavorful. My toddler enjoyed that. My husband enjoyed the beef shawarma entree and mentioned that he liked the cooking of the beef. Came with pickled cabbage- vinegary and snappy. And pickled okra- a tiny hint of heat in that, but you'll survive. Also a small cup of sour cream, which I dipped some sausage bits into. I absolutely loved my visit to Habibi Grill. I am not very familiar with the area where the restaurant is located, so I was initially dismayed that it was across the street from Budd Dairy Food Hall. Arguably the best food hall in the city, my initial reaction was to go to Budd Dairy instead of Habibi, however, when it was all said and done, I was very happy with my experience at Habibi. The concept is simple and efficient - you order at the counter and help yourself to the utensils. When the food is ready, it is brought to your table. The restaurant itself has a casual vibe, but has some very tasteful wall decor. We ordered several dishes - Hummus and Kibbeh for appetizers, Beef Shish Kebab and Chicken Shawarma for main entrees, and a Mango Smoothie to drink. All the items we ordered were fantastic, and huge portions. The hummus is one of the best in town, and both the chicken and beef were well-seasoned and tender. The smoothie was also flavorful, and actually tasted like mango. I am already looking forward to going back to Habibi. The prices were a bit of sticker shock ($27 for a vegetarian sampler), but when you see the portion sizes it makes more sense. There are no "lunch" sizes offered here. The chicken shawarma entree was a hefty lunch portion for two of us. The hummus appetizer could easily feed 4 people - it is almost party catering size. The gentleman running the place is great. Really polite and helpful. He was expediting takeout orders when there was some confusion with the staff. Atmosphere is very casual with self serve seating and lots of TVs. On to the food itself - shawarma was delicious. The chicken was perfectly cooked. The yellow rice and pickled veggies tasted very good, but were extremely salty. My partner and I were really excited and looked forward to trying Habibi because of the hype on social media and high rating on Yelp. However, our experience was kind of a letdown. It was probably a 3-3.5 for at least two reasons. First, this place is pricey. I had sticker shock checking out the menu. I'm a big fan of other Lebanese and mediterranean eateries in town and wasn't sure why this spot was so much more expensive. Two adults who ordered a wrap, chicken entree, and two appetizers (no drinks) paid $68 dollars...it felt at least $15 bucks overpriced. Second, the food was pretty bland and underwhelming. The highlight was the beef shawarma wrap. But the hummus, while smooth and silky, had zero seasoning and too much olive oil. The cauliflower wasn't much to write home about either for the price (approx $10) considering the portion. The chicken shawarma with rice was quite large but basically tasted like grilled chicken without much salt. Nothing was inedible or unappetizing, but for the price, I was just expecting a lot more of a wow factor. On the more positive side, the staff was very friendly and helpful when we had questions and when checking in our meal. Additionally, the food was served pretty quickly after we ordered. Finally, the portions (minus the cauliflower) were large and you may have leftovers. For some, that may offset the high price. Overall, I wish I could rate my experience higher but think they need to look at their pricing or revamp some of their offerings in order to justify the cost. Been hearing a lot about Habibi Grill and seeing all the social media attention really hyped up my expectations, unfortunately, to me, it was all hype and no substance. It is definitely a nice space, casual ambiance, and a nice little outdoor patio. Staff is all very nice but its mostly a help yourself type of restaurant outside of getting food brought to you. We ordered the fried cauliflower and hummus to start. The fried cauliflower was a pretty small portion and the hummus was quite large. Taste wise, the cauliflower was alright, good but not standout. The hummus was fairly bland to me but very creamy. It came with pita that felt like cut up, store-bought pita. I wish they did something with it, like heat it up or toast it. For mains, we got a beef shawarma wrap and a chicken shawarma entree. I thought the beef shawarma wrap was the best thing I had here. Well seasoned, decently portioned, and overall tasty. The chicken shawarma was not seasoned in the same manner, which was quite a disappointment. It tasted like subtley seasoned grilled chicken, not bad, not great. The rice it came with was nice though. Overall, I would say this is a very hyped up restaurant and may still be getting some adjustments correct in the kitchen. To me, food was pretty average for the cost, though portions aren't bad. You go to the counter and place your order. Bottles of soda behind the register, take out containers to the left, and plates, silverware, and two giant ice water tanks around the corner from the door. But the plating? Is so good. It goes from feeling "fast and casual" to *with a purpose.* The food? Divine. I ate until I was stuffed, and still wanted more. We ordered - Hummus, Chicken Schwarma plate, and Beef kabab (Kofta), and my friend ordered some parmesan garlic wings. The food was on point - the hummus, a gigantic portion, creamy, seasoned well, with a generous amount of pita. The chicken shwarma hitting all those flavors I was craving with tender bites of chicken. I had a bite of the beef kofta, and it's seasonings are all its own that takes it away from "just beef." Super tender, juicy morsels. And the wings - they looked "wet" (we both were unsure) - but underneath that tasty sauce was crispy, well cooked wings. The service: Well, it's self-serve. It's on you. But immediately after we sat down, they checked on us to see if we had been prior (first for me, second for him) - he knew what was up, and she reitereated the process to me (and pointed out where everything was... so... I guess the only thing I don't know is where the restroom was!) Towards the end, another gentleman checked on us, and pointed out the takeout containers for leftovers. If I had to "make" a negative? I'd been wanting to try this place for a while. Finally got the chance on a Sunday afternoon with my family. Parking is tight as there's a very small lot that can park maybe up to 15 cars. Decor even from the outside draws you. I looked at the site/ menu staff of time, and I was aware of self-serving. Everything we had was FULL of flavor and presentation was COLORFUL! Three chef came over to is twice to check in and took time to engage with the children. I love attentive customer service. Super nice guy!!! There was a long wait on one of our orders, but the chef was on had with the staff to rectify it before we had to mention it. Once he noticed, he came over to let us know or was being cut and would be out soon. Pros: Great customer service, decor, seating options (indoor/outdoor), food presentation, portion size, party room available for reservation. Cons: I usually order water with meals anyway, so thar was fine, but I would've appreciated an ice dispenser. Smaller platter options for parties of one or two weren't available. If you wanted additional meat, it's a $12+ upcharge. I would absolutely come back to dine in or for takeout. read more

You'll either love it or hate it! I know people that rant and rave about it, but I've been twice now and I don't think it's worth the hype at all. The food doesn't have flavor and is overpriced. I've had better gyros from food trucks and drive-thrus... BUT, for the good, their fried pickles and jalapeño poppers were really good, and the portions (on most dishes) were good! My food was much better 2nd day once all the flavors marinated in eachother. I'd say try it if you're in SN and want to try it, but I was overall not a fan of the food or price. read more
