From the minute I spoke with Laki and right up until the moment my car was delivered to my home in Florida, (from NJ) Shaughnessy Overland Express deserves 10 stars - or maybe even 100 stars! This company far exceeded my every expectation. Laki took the time with me, explained the process and was available by phone the few times I had reached out to him. Communication was excellent! This was my first time transporting a car out of state so having Laki there to walk me through the process was invaluable. Service was what I would call platinum, white glove service. The car seat and the steering wheel were both covered in plastic with a floor mat on the driver's side for protection. Extra care was given at every stage from pick up to delivery. Josh and Jeremy were the drivers for my vehicle, and they were very professional. The transport truck was clean, well-marked with the company name and quite impressive! Excuse the length, but my experience was phenomenal with all contact points of the transport transaction. I hope the detail provides insight for those who may be concerned about differing points of the process. I am a life long car collector and hobbiest/builder who enjoys driving them all as much as possible. For me this means rotating cars in the collection and transporting them between home and a vacation residence in a not well served part of the country. Enclosed car carrier service has not been easily found for my route and trailering myself has been the least hassle most of the time for my needs. Until recently. I reached out to the folks at Shaughnessy after seeing them loading and offloading similar cars in my neighborhood. I assumed big city, major routes, but you do not know unless you ask, and I was proven incorrect when I discovered their routes. The experience with Shaughnessy was beyond exceptional. I was informed of the pickup window (an extremely reasonable 2 day window) and was advised that the route, despite its remoteness, was within a couple hours of a regular weekly route they run between South FL and Pittsburgh, Erie, Buffalo, and Cleveland, and that the car would be delivered to its destination 1,450 miles away 2 days later (they haul with 2 drivers, 1 clocks on, the other off, etc. until they get to the destination). The truck (a Shaughnessy livery, company cab and enclosed big rig hauler) arrived on the 1st day of the window after several "enroute" calls as they neared. The crew wrapped the steering wheel in plastic, did the same to the driver's seat, and placed a paper mat on the floor of the driver's footwell, inquired of special features and operation particulars, then loaded and secured the car. Before departing, the driver informed me of the expected arrival time at the destination with mine being the last vehicle to off load (full truck). Instead of the 2 day journey that I was informed by dispatch (for which I was very happy), the driver informed that my car would be delivered between 6PM and 10PM the next day (it was 2:30PM on departure day and my destination is 1450miles away!). I asked if he was sure, and I was assured absolutely. The next morning I flew to my home. 3PM that day I received a call from the driver that he will be at my home between 5PM and 6PM. At 5PM I received a call that they were 1/2 hr away. At 5:30PM my exotic was off loaded in exactly the pristine condition it left from my other residence. The Shaughnessy team from dispatch through to the drivers exceeded my expectations, and I can assuredly say that my special cars will be moved by the Shaughnessy team. Finally, no more trailering hassles, or "last minute brokered arrangements with enclosed carriers that happen to be coming through this one time, this year". Just cannot say phenomenal enough. read more

The trucks this company uses are new and top of the line. I just shipped from DE to Naples FL. Picked the car up on Thursday and just picked it up(Saturday evening). Matt the driver worked very well with me in communicating when and where to get my car. The original destination, a dealership, would be closed. So I worked with Matt and was able to pick my car up this evening. This will let me fly back to DE on time Sunday without having to worry about my timing to catch my flight. I had these folks move two of my cars from Maryland to Florida. The driver was two days late picking up cars and five days late delivering cars. One car had a minor scratch on the drivers door where they climbed out of it like Bo Duke loading it. The other all four wheels were gauged. It has been five months and they still have not paid to fix my vehicle. I say vehicle as I only was really concerned about the wheels on my BMW. They don't return calls. The woman who is your main POC, Beth is rude and gruff. I moved two more cars this week and utilized another hauling company and the vehicles arrived on time and in perfect condition. Bottom line don't use these people they are awful and their price is comparable to people who do it better. read more

***Warning stay away from these two transport company's!!!**** So here are the names of the companies that transported my car from New York to Miami and damaged my vehicle. Stay away from these two companies unless you are ok with them damaging your car and leaving you with a repair bill to pay for and a bunch of excuses. The first company is Shaughnessy Overland Express. I hired them to transport my vehicle from New York to Miami for a car show. On arrival, I got out of my car for them to put it on the trailer. Mark, the father of the owner of the company, took over the task. As he was putting my car in the trailer he came so close to the wheel well of the trailer that h scratched my carbon fiber side skirt. At that time I should've just said forget it, and taken my car away. He offered me $100 like that was going to do anything. I told him, whatever just please make sure you get my car safely to Miami. That was on Saturday. Mark stated they were going to be in Florida the next day and was going to call me. Sunday came and went and no call. Monday came and went and no call. I called them on Tuesday, went to voicemail. I didn't like the feeling of that. He finally called me back and said, John I won't lie to you we damaged your car. I was pissed but couldn't do anything about it. Mark said that some guy cut them off in Florida and they had to slam on the brakes and my car shifted in the trailer and broke my front carbon fiber lip. They said they were going to cover the damage. I told them the car was going to Miami for a car show and the lip needed to be fixed immediately. They told me to ship another one overnight and that they would cover the cost. I shipped another carbon fiber lip overnight and they took my car to Naples Motor Sports where they installed the new lip. They did such a horrible job that the screws came loose as I was driving it once I finally got to Miami - the lip cracked and came off. At this point, I was speechless. So they hired another company - without my knowledge - to transport my car to the hotel where I was staying. This company is The Car Hauler Company. What a joke! I had paid to deliver my car at my hotel. The owner of The Car Hauler Company, Serg, was embarrassed of his trailer and didn't want to be seen dropping off the car at the hotel so he found a shady spot 4 blocks away in an ally to drop off my car. Just unreal! I finally see my car for the first time since I shipped it from NYC and it was a mess. I had washed the car before it left NYC and when I saw it, it was all wet and dirty. It gets even better. I inspected the entire car, and there was a nail in my tire and they also bent and broke my carbon fiber license plate frame. I wish I knew how they managed to accomplish that one! I get in my car and take off to go to my hotel. As I pull up and park my car I click the button to fold in my mirrors. Nothing. I'm like, what in the world is going on? Little did I know that Serg, "The Car Hauler" forced my mirrors with his hand to close them and broke the pins in my mirrors. Yeap! So as of right now, the first company I hired, has paid me for one lip and next day shipping. They said they have nothing to do with the installation of the other lip and mirrors. Terrible shipper. Did not take care of my 1969 AMX restored car and lied twice to me. I paid a premium price for an enclosed trailer to deliver my car from Florida to Ohio. They did not load the cars properly in the trailer according to what cars get delivered first. On the stop before mine they pulled my car out in a rain storm to get the car in front of mine out. The truck driver didn't bother to dry my car off and delivered it toi me soak and wet. I payed approx. $600.00 more for enclosed trailer to keep it dry. Originally the driver lied to the dispatcher and said it was raining at my house and then I produced a video of the car being taken out of the trailer and it should the road dry. That's when terminal manager Zach admitted what really happened. Also Zach was apologetic but uncaring about my collector car and said more or less sorry about your luck. Our company doesn't guarantee dryness. They said the opposite when I hired them. Also, It was like pulling teeth to get some money refunded for poor service. Zach finally agreed to a 200.00 refund then never sent it to me. Bunch of liars. Do not use this company if you care about your car and customer service and reputation and honesty. After having a car delivered by Shaughnessy Overland Express, Inc(SOEINC), there are some things that happened to me that you should be aware of if you choose to do business with them. Our car was picked up in Florida and delivered to our house in NJ late one night around 10:00pm, what better time to deliver something damaged in hopes of it not being seen. It arrived in an unmarked truck and trailer (not at all what you see on their webpage), and, as it was being unloaded, we noticed it was badly damaged. The driver agreed and documented ALL damages (along with pictures) that occurred during transit. SOEINC owner was notified immediately, and his response was "please take it to where you feel comfortable, and I will write out a check to get it taken care of quickly." Car was towed to a body shop on June 8, 2016, and we are still waiting for things to be taken care of ! Neither the owner, Ryan Shaughnessy, or his insurance company will pay for the damages on the estimate. Ryan is very good at lip service, blaming things on the insurance company, always saying he will call them and straighten things out. Do not believe him, it is just that, lip service. We now have to spend over $3000 out of our pocket to cover the damages he did to our car. Do not be fooled by all the nice pictures posted there. This company is horrible to do business with. Once they have your money, they are done with you regardless of how badly your car is damaged in transit. THEY WILL NOT PAY FOR DAMAGES! This company lacks integrity, customer service/satisfaction, and fails to accept responsibility for their actions with your property. Oh, and Ryan, my 89 year old mother thanks you for ruining her car. If anyone would like further info on this before using this company, please IM me. FIND ANOTHER COMPANY, THERE ARE MANY OTHERS!
