I have nothing but good things to say about the team at Shasta Computer Repair! I haven't had a bad experience yet and I do a good bit of business with these guys! Awesome customer service. Great central Redding location. Quicker turnaround than competitors. Good pricing. Clean office. Professional staff. If you need your phone or mac repaired I highly recommend this company and the biggest reason why is because they are in it to help you and they don't mess around and try to sell you parts you don't need. Very trustworthy people here! read more

My laptop started having connection issues out of nowhere, I tried to do the simple things that usually fixes minor issues - rebooting, resetting and restarting everything. It was out of my expertise at this point so I searched for an expert and called different places before finding Shasta computer repair and I am very satisfied, he let me know what he was doing every step of the way in the end I had to replace the wifi card which he was able to do same day because he had some extras. Very affordable compared to most of not all the places I called. Over all very delighted and would recommend to anyone read more

We had some hardware charges that we didn't expect. It wasn't Asurion's fault, just that the snow had ruined some devices. They helped us order everything and overall gave us a fair deal. read more

This is hands down the best place in Shasta County to have work done on a Mac. They are friendly, kind and knowledgeable and went above and beyond to help me with my issue. Kyle and Alicia were a pleasure to work with! Their prices are fair and their work is guaranteed and done well! Is you have any Apple issues, this is the place to go! read more

I rarely leave reviews, however, on this occasion I feel obligated to help others avoid the horrendous experience we had with this company. We brought my sons gaming computer in to have a cooling fan replaced. They took it apart "diagnosed" the computer, verified that yes my teenage son was correct it did need a cooling fan and then put it on a shelf. We called for updates weekly and kept getting excuses. First they ordered the wrong part, then they were short staffed, they were on vacation in Florida, etc... after 9 weeks I came in to pick up the computer - it was STILL not fixed! They gave it back to me completely dismantled (and missing a bracket) I took the computer to Best Buy Geek Squad and they had the computer fixed in 9 days and 5 of those days we were waiting for the part. Additionally, because the computer was completely taken apart and had to be put back together it cost us MORE, but it was over $160 less that the estimated cost Shasta Computer gave originally. Finally, they mentioned that they were opening a new store and offered to give me a voucher - like we would EVER support their business in the future...ABSOLUTELY NOT! Do yourself a favor and avoid this business! read more

Traveling from Seattle to Scottsdale in a leisurely west coast drive, I found myself wasting valuable time trying to unravel why my password magically failed to work. No password, no internet. No internet, no password update. And I had work to do. After speaking to the delightful receptionist, Stacey, I trotted into Shasta computer. Hello!? What happened to the dank, dark computer service store with the irritable tech guy who clearly thought you were an idiot? Instead, I found a clean, calm, welcoming environment and Stacey who said, "we're like a spa for your computer". An hour later and for less money than the quote, my issue was resolved and I was on my way. Oh, and, yes, it was a stupid, easy fix, but outside my realm. I felt like I'd been to the spa, not just my computer. read more

I had my iPhone screen replaced, Shasta Computer Repair was the tech sent out when I filed a claim w the Asurion plan I have for my iPhone. Benjamin came out to help, he was great. Courteous and efficient, and very personable. The whole experience was awesome and I wouldn't hesitate to come back for any sort of tech repair- these guys DEFINITELY know what they're doing! read more

I called Shasta computer Repair as part of a Plan to repair my iPhone cracked screen. I'm addition to fixing my phone screen, which looks much better now, I dropped off my laptop computer which can be repaired for a reasonable fee. read more

I'll be the first to admit that I'm not a computer expert and never will be. I had a couple of issues with my MacBook Pro. I called and spoke to Alicia who was very informative on the phone. I decided to take my phone to their shop and met Alicia in person and she referred me to Kyle for the repair(s). I left knowing what happened, basically what I did wrong to my computer. I highly recommend this business and the staff. I'm very happy with both Alicia and Kyle. read more

I accidentally dropped my phone and broke the screen when I fell in my driveway the other day. I was sent to Shasta Computer a Repair and they fixed it the same day. I drop the phone off came back an hour later and my phone was like new. Great job, thank you. read more

Long story short, I had an issue with a replaced phone from my carriers insurance that ended up being defective. This repair shop is an hour away from where I live, and the closest one to me. After the insurance made the appointment for me (and telling me I couldn't just walk in to the store, they had to meet me somewhere) the owner called me to let me know that the insurance company screwed up, that if I still wanted me to meet them at the set location it would have to wait...however I COULD come into the shop at the same time and have it repaired there. INCREDIBLY accommodating. INCREDIBLY kind staff, AMAZINGLY fast service. They did fantastic, and they eased a lot of stress over this issue that the insurance company just....fucked with. Anyway. Any time I need anything repaired ever I will happily drive my ass down to them to do so. Thanks guys! read more

I was referred to them for a laptop repair. They were very professional and did it under the time they said it would be. The cost was a lot less than I expected. I will definatley use them again read more

We took my daughter's laptop in for repair after a failed attempt at home repair. Initially a hinge broke off the "lid". We cracked the screen trying to put it all back together. Brought in the laptop on a Friday. Called back 5 or 6 days later and was told the part would be ordered and installed the day it came in. I called back about a week after that and was assured the part came in, and the laptop would be good to go the next day. Indeed, it was done before noon the next day! It took longer than expected overall, which was a difficult for my distance learner, but as soon as that screen came in, they expedited the repair! read more

SCR seemed like a helpful and professional group. However, they could not fix my Acer Switch cracked screen because they could not find the part. While I understand the difficulty, I was a little annoyed that it cost me the $50 upfront diagnosis fee to find that they could not locate the part. read more

Avoid this place like the plague. They had my only business computer for over a week. The last two times I tried to call them for an update, they never answered the phone. Their voice mail wouldn't take a message. I had to drive in to their office to find out what was going on. I finally got it back after many delays and excuses. They had ended up replacing my hard drive with a ss drive. It ran extremely slow and though they told me they had saved all my data, my QuickBooks data was missing. Total bill was $197.20. After that, one of my clients referred me to their computer doctor. He made a couple house calls, found that the hard drive that SCR had replaced had not fried like they told me, and was able to recover my QB data. He did say the old hard drive was old and not efficient, so I ended up buying a gently used and not very old computer. I have all my programs, all my data, running at speed, and I'm back in business. read more

Great service, and a quick turnaround time as well. They were very personable and friendly. Would definitely come back. Thank you!

Very professional, quick and great service! I had my phone repaired in just about 40 minutes. They had to reschedule my Saturday appointment, but made a huge effort to reach me, apologize and work with my schedule. Would definitely recommend and will use them for any phone or computer repair I might need in the future. read more

I broke the screen on my iPhone and having these guys fix the $29 instead of paying $200 was an option. I came in dropped off my phone, came back an hour later and phone looked like new with new screen. Great job guys! read more

The first impression upon walking into this business was wow, this is different. It was not at all what i expected. Very nice, a reception person was seated and it seemed more like a doctor's office. The person took my information and then told me the charge to diagnose my laptop would be $49. That's correct only 49. And this would be applied to whatever service was needed. This place excudes professional and competent service. A couple days later Luke gave me a call to tell me about my laptop. Unfortunately the hard drive was beyond repair. I stopped by and spoke to Luke who explained the problems. No gobbledygook technical terms. Luke took his time to explain. Everyone working was well dressed and very professional. If i have any future problems I will definitely return and i whole heartedly recommend them and thanks, Luke for the excellent help. read more

Long story, slightly summed up. Verizon iPhone broken. Used Asurion insurance to get phone repaired. Asurion contracts Shasta Computer Repair for the work. (This part is unknown to me.) It's a two week wait. We were told the repair would happen at our house on November 24 between 3-5. Received an email on November 23 from Asurion confirming the appointment. At 4:30 on November 24 we access the voicemail on the broken phone by using the phone number of the contact phone. Shasta Computer repair left a message ON THE BROKEN PHONE on November 22 asking us to bring the phone to them instead of them coming to us. Next message on November 24 from Benjamin at SCR (calling the broken phone instead of the contact phone) telling us he can come early. I call SCR back at 4:40 and no answer. I call Asurion and they tell me that SCR told them that they were on there way to us when they had an emergency and couldn't make the appointment. I try to make a second appointment and I'm told that the soonest available appointment is December 8. Unreliable company. read more

Our computer was stollen from their site, supposedly from a break in. When we went to see a possible replacement the attendant was extremely rude. First commenting about how he expected us at an earlier time (we had just spent 2 hours at our bank safe guarding our banking information due to the theft), and he had a short temper when we were asking him questions in reference to the replacement computer. We didn't expect to be treated as if we had done something wrong as we were the victims. The owner of the store should have personally worked with us. The computer they offered to replace our 15 inch MacBook Pro was a lower grade and smaller in size. Our only option was to accept the $300, as he kept insisting that this is the only amount their insurance would pay. read more

What can I say Zach is the man! I had a computer crisis while visiting the area and found Zach. Shasta Computer Repair totally came through for me, saved a bunch of data on a failing drive and overnight shipped an SSD to upgrade my MB Pro. Left town with a better laptop than when I got it from Apple!! Let's be clear you are not going to BestBuy here, Zach is knowledgeable in all things, is a total gentleman and family man. Be prepared to meet them - they are awesome! Seriously, if you need emergency support in Redding, Zach is your man and will work thru the weekend to get it done. res ipsa loquitor read more

Great customer service. I was in town, my 2012 mid year MAC Laptop Pro decided to not charge. I figured it was the 85w charger. It was. I know this because they put theirs on it and yep, charger issue. This was done in back, out of sight. They really could have claimed it needed this or that etc. and I wouldn't have had a choice, but to believe them. They don't sell the 85w charger (it is an older charger, so I wouldn't expect that they would). They told me where to go, hooked my computer up to power in the meanwhile and did all this knowing this isn't going to result in a big ticket sale. I was able to get a charger at Best Buy and swing back and pick up the laptop in a couple hours. I think it says a lot about a company that is focused on great customer service even if it isn't going to make them money that day. I wasn't even a previous client. I am happy to use them in the future and recommend them to my family. Efficient and ethical is a winning combination. ** oh, bonus - they had specials going on for the Carr Fire victims. I don't mean 5% off, I mean, generous neighborly discounts for those in the community trying to recover data. Clearly not cashing in on others misfortune. I admire that. ** read more

I dropped my iPhone 7 off at 9 am and they said they would have it back by 5. I was able to pick it up before lunch! Great repair, great conversation with great local people. My iPhone works perfectly unlike the last place I dropped it off with and I am super happy so leaving 5 stars. read more

My laptop hadn't been used for a very long time and obviously needed a complete exam and update. The service I received was excellent: The receptionists were friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable; I received a call from the technician letting me know what was needed, when my Mac would be ready for pickup, and what the charge would be. Everything was right on schedule, the charges were reasonable, and my Mac works like a new computer! I will definitely recommend Shasta Computer Repair in the future! read more

Quick and friendly service. Would have been better if Asurion insurance had coordinated with them but it all worked out with me taking my cellphone to them rather than them sending a tech to my house as I was initially informed by Asurion. Happy with repairs. read more

My iphone was acting crazy out of nowhere! Was only showing the Apple screen and would not even turn off or on. I don't have iCloud... was worried that my pictures of my son and our family would be lost forever. I was so upset and frustrated- Alicia at the front desk was very patient, understanding and professional. I have been a long term customer of Shasta computer repair and have always had good results from them. Plus they are reasonable- actually more reasonable than my Apple Care insurance copay I took it there just hoping for the best. My phone was fixed by Kyle who was able to restore my phone with all 5500 pictures safely will be coming back for a data transfer soon- my phone is out of storage space. Kyle was able to repair my phone all in the same day too. Thank God And thank you Shasta Computer Repair! You rock! read more

Don't make the big mistake This is a computer repair not "PHONE". My insurance sent me to them they fixed my cracked screen on my note 10+ but left behind a film over my face facing camera. Camara does not work and they did not want to be responsible. They claim that something might had gone loose inside my phone on my way home. Lol. Besides all side seams were lightly open. No customer service at least for me and my new phone. read more

Very dishonest technicians. I brought my older laptop in for repair because it had been dropped and was not currently recognizing the hard drive. I was aware it was older but I still wanted it repaired if at all possible. The technician called me and told me that my computer was damaged beyond repair had broken parts inside as well as many stripped out screw holes. (it had one that I was previously aware of. I was told the hard drive was definitely damaged and when I asked if I could just replace the had drive then, I was told no, the computer itself was too damaged from when it was dropped and the insides were broken where stuff was held in place. I was told they were unsure if the hard drive itself could be asked to transfer my data. I purchased a second computer and it turns out they were able to successfully transfer all of my data. When I went in to pick up the old and new computer, just for the heck of it in their office I decided to see if my old computer would work. I plugged it in and it recognized the hard drive perfectly. I was shocked as the technician had told me it was not possible. I showed the manager and she did not know how. She said she would call me on Monday after looking into it. When I got home I tried to use my old computer but they mouse did not work. I looked at the computer and found that like 5 or 6 screws that held the back on were missing. I went ahead and opened my computer. When I lifted the computer I noticed that the tab that connected the mouse was not properly in its slot. I pushed it in and my computer worked with no issues other than a hard drive error (same error it had for two years) On Monday the manager had a migraine when we spoke and needed more time. to look into things for a resolution. She said the technicians notes did not match what I was telling her . I waited for her call which never came. On Friday afternoon I called her and she asked if she could call me back in 10 minutes. When she finally did she was rather rude and made me feel like I was lying about what had occurred. She basically told me that even though my computer worked because of what she saw in her technicians notes they would never have been able to guarantee how long it would have stayed working which explains why I was told I needed a new one. She justified his deceit. She then offered a minimal partial refund which I refused. This company is not who you want working on your electronics if you want honesty read more

No, just no. Brought my phone here for a warranty covered screen repair and the whole deal was super shady. They rescheduled the online appointment I made with Asurion, twice and then they did not even complete the repair. They said the part was defective and put my broken screen back on....to too it off there is now something wrong with my speaker or microphone. My ohone has an echo. So when I called Asurion to reshcedule they could not understand me. Be warned there is something weird going on here with warranty phone repairs. read more

Brought my iPhone in to have the screen replaced. This phone is only 5 months old. After about 20 minutes they brought it back and said they couldn't do it because the screws were stripped. So much easier than dealing with Apple, & significantly less expensive. Walked in on Friday afternoon expecting to leave my shattered iPhone until Saturday or even Monday. My Apple Computer crashed while attempting to download the High Sierra OS from the Apple store. Apparently this is a known problem when attempting to download a complex program from the internet. It's easily corrupted. I left a message with a different computer repair and never received a call back. I called Shasta Computer Repair and was immediately connected.
