Located in the Weller Court plaza. Its a super tiny boba store with seating outside. Their tea is so watered down. I've given this place 2 chances and it was the same both times. Very bland and watered down drinks. 3 stars because service was good. The person at the front explained the different drinks to me since they have quirky names for some of their drinks. read more

This place has one of the best bobas out there. I ordered a Blueberry Night Smoothie. Delicious! Exactly what I needed on a hot day. I would rate it 8.5/10. Make sure to add some sugar if you like some sweet flavor. I had to order an Air Pancake. Chocolate Air Pancake. This was the first time I had one and omg, soooo goood! 10/10. This pancake melts in your mouth. Almost like a marshmallow but with an eggy, cake taste. Idk how to describe it. I'll be back for the Tiramisu Air Pancake. Be prepared to wait 30 mins to get your pancake but trust me, it's totally worth it. The server was so nice and focused on creating a beautiful pancake. This place deserves a long line out the door! read more

Not real Japanese pancakes. Not worth the money. No seating. Hard to find and no parking. Service was chaotic.

Super good. The honeydew milk tea I got was so good and I can't have dairy but this was listed on their nondairy list (it uses creamer instead of milk) so it was perfect! And the boba itself is literally perfect read more

Haven't seen these desserts yet? These amazing "Japanese soufflés" or "air pancakes" are amazing little after meal treats. We found these at Sharp Tea in Little Tokyo, DTLA. Get the original and allow for around 30 minutes to prepare. There's a couple of super cute shops in the same plaza (Weller Court) to visit while waiting. Enjoy something different, and support your local businesses! read more

Time for some sharp criticism. Sharp Tea is a new bubble tea shop in the Weller Court shopping plaza, a multi-level outdoor mall of sorts full of Japanese restaurants and certain other concepts. Makes sense, considering that it's in Little Tokyo. My friend and I had just had dinner elsewhere, and she'd actually recommended a location of chain which would be more regularly accessible to me without a long drive to Downtown LA. Sharply, I pointed out that she'd recently been raving about this standalone business and suggested that we try them instead. Parking may be available elsewhere within walkable distance, but the best parking is likely the underground parking garage right below Weller Court, which can be accessed via 2nd St. Be forewarned as I wasn't: parking in this garage costs $2 per 15 minutes, and some businesses (including this one so far) don't validate at all. Aside from that kerfuffle, which I am not factoring into the rating, I wasn't very thrilled by my Ceylon Milk Tea ($5.00), which was actually a replacement for Jasmine Milk Tea ($4.50) after they'd run out of jasmine tea and had to try to brew a replacement batch. Again, I'm disregarding the jasmine milk tea and I actually would even praise them for offering to make a replacement drink if I wasn't happy. I wasn't, so I asked. Anyway, the ceylon milk tea. It wasn't very strong in ceylon flavor, nor was it a delicious milk tea experience. The drink certainly had a smooth mouthfeel, but I simply expect more flavor after having tried dozens of bubble tea shops in various cities. I think the non-dairy creamer which they use might even coat the palate and obscure the tea's flavor. And considering the high price, I wouldn't look forward at all to coming back, parking notwithstanding. Sharp Tea fills a niche in what is presumably a busy shopping area, but they need to provide sharper flavor in addition to their service if they would like to succeed long-term. For now, I am unlikely to return even if I should revisit this plaza in the future. read more

cute mini boba shop located in shopping plaza of little Tokyo. Pink panther dragon drink: I would give this drink 3/5. The flavor of this drink comes from the lychee so without the lychee it is bland. But the lychee tastes like those canned lychee bits you can buy at the grocery store. This drink was nothing special for almost $7 Peach oolong milk tea: def taste like a white peach milk tea. This was good! I guess next time I would come to try the air pancakes read more

Another tea place? There are plenty of them around here so it was easy to overlook Sharp Tea because it's in a little tucked away corner. I didn't think there would be anything to it; I thought it was the usual mix of lattes, milk teas and smoothies but they had a line of 'fresh fruit' teas. I went with the Mango Green tea, lite ice with 25% sugar. Honestly, I wasn't expecting much. I figured with that little sugar that there wouldn't be much fruit in the 'fresh fruit.' I was pleasantly wrong. There were nice little pieces of mango and there was a lot of natural sweetness to it that didn't need a ton of simple syrup. Their boba pancakes looked great too, that's something that was new. I'll be coming again to try that out. read more

The jasmine tea here was good. The black tea however had too much ice since they explained that it's a very concentrated tea and thick cream so it needs the ice to water it down more. Moral of the story is don't inhale it in .1 seconds because then you get very little tea and a cup full of ice. You also can ask for less ice. The strawberries pancake there was good. The pancake itself was great. Some of us weren't fans of the strawberries compote topping. read more

Very delicious and sweet, the perfect afternoon pick me up! This is a little cafe on the ground floor tucked behind the elevator with no indoor seating, so don't miss this gem and be ready to eat outside. It's pretty good! Coming from a location with bunch of boba places as a competition, this joint stands out. The baristas of this place were so nice and accommodating. The ambiance were this place really shines because of their simple, but memorable decor. Plus, they have a great location.. smack on the middle of Little Tokyo plaza. Their boba drink won't disappoint, as well. I ordered their Ceylon Boba Milk Tea with dairy free. The taste was so clean and refreshing.. not too sweet and you can taste every flavor they put. However, my only knocked on them was it's a slightly overpriced because I understand they need to pay a higher rent with their location. And unfortunately, they cannot validate parking from the downstairs' garage. But.. overall, my girlfriend and I had cool pictures in this place and it is one of the best boba milk tea places that I've been in LA. read more

Was shopping around the Weller Court and saw that they had air pancakes aka souffle pancakes! My friends and I were so excited to try them out (11 dollars each + topping of 1 dollar per) and there was one guy working there but he was really nice and helped us and another party while they waited outside. Took about 20 minutes for him to prep the pancake and he made 6 of them seemingly but we had 3 in our order! I guess it was for a later batch or a staff snack maybe? Anyway, it was done and we picked it up as he was finishing up and it was divine, like eating air! We got the boba air pancake with Oreo and.. it was so good! Wish they had an ube/taro pancake too but we may just go there often regardless for these and some drinks in the future! DEFINITELY recommend this. We could have eaten three of the pancake orders! read more

Come here for the Japanese fluffy air pancakes. They are very very good. The tiramisu air pancake is a.m.a.z.i.n.g. It is one of the most popular items on their menu. I am recommending Sharp Tea for their cakes, unfortunately not for their drinks. I got the house milk tea with less ice and 50 percent sugar, and I was not very satisfied. The quality of tea was ok, nothing impressive. Kinda watery, and tea quality wasn't great. It is acceptable, in my standard. I gave the pancake five out of five stars. They are quite the signature of the store, and I am willing to check out the other pancakes. They will melt in your mouth, and the softness of pancake with the cream on top of it makes you yearn even more for the next bite. Lol. I am not a fan of their house milk tea. I guess nothing is perfect. Lol read more

I've heard so much about these air pancakes. It was so exciting to finally get to try it. The best thing is showing a big bite into your mouth and inhaling. The powder sugar choke is the sweetest. It came in at $11. But the fruit was good and the syrup was not too sweet, but delicious. Service was good and friendly. This location is a tough location in the corner. 10/10 will be coming again. I came for the air pancakes and was not disappointed! I will point out that this is their most popular menu items so we waited a little over 35 minutes for our pancakes. In terms of size, the pancakes are about the size of your palm, and they give you 3. I went for the strawberry pancake while my partner tried the Boba. And the air pancakes definitely have more of an eggy taste, but it's not overpowering nor is it super noticeable at all! I recommend trying the strawberry pancake or the tiramisu one to get you started. Because of the long wait time, order online ahead for pick up. The parking here in the parking structure is two dollars every 15 minutes, cash only, and sharp tea does not validate. read more

Quick Summary: - Specializes in fluffy souffle pancakes - Interior is warm - A couple of chairs placed inside and outside I went after lunch time which was past 1 or 2pm, and there was one or two people sitting inside. I noticed there was only one staff. Maybe on a usual day, one staff is enough to run the cafe, but we went at the time when there is a large convention happening, so soon after I took my order, a group of five arrived and thus grew to a longer line. The staff member was taking orders, making tea, and also making souffle pancakes. That was too hard for me to watch, and I felt really sorry for him. Despite the him funning around and juggling three tasks at once, and me waiting around ten to fifteen minutes, the tea was very good. The salt content was perfect for the warm weather. I do hope that it was just that day when there was only one working behind the counter because I feel it's understaffed. read more

We were eating lunch nearby and it was hot outside so we decided to grab a drink. We tried the mango milk tea with boba. The milk tea itself was good! Loved the flavor and I liked that it wasn't powdery or too sweet. However the boba itself though was a little too hard for me. It didn't taste as fresh so we just drank the milk tea and tossed the rest. They are located in the corner on the first level of the shopping plaza. So I had air pancakes before and they were amazinggg I was looking everywhere to try it again and ran into Sharp tea to finally settle my craving . After finishing up this snack I was satisfied w my crazy craving for it but was left wondering was that it ? It's comes with three air pancakes and the flavor u choose is just added on the first one. Truthfully these were on the dry side and tasted very basic :( also quit small. If you're looking to get good air pancakes this is not the place. If you're in little Tokyo and would want to satisfy a craving this will do it . Also I had to wait 30 minutes for these and it's always the same Wait time :/ wish the wait time showed for the meal . Sharp tea offers unique and tasty drinks made with fresh ingredients. I was impressed by their creative menu and had a hard time picking a drink. The owner was kind enough to make several recommendations. I originally ordered a strawberry milk with boba. I didnt know the pink series drinks came with lychee jelly, otherwise I wouldn't have ordered it. Have you ever had boba and lychee jelly at the same time? I also didnt think the lychee jelly syrup went well with the strawberry puree. I couldn't take a second sip. The owner was understanding and offered to make me something else. I opted for the mango cloud and omg it was so good. It's a blended fruit drink with yogurt mixed in. It was a well balanced, lightly sweet drink. You can tell they used real mango and yogurt. I'd come back just for this! Overall wonderful customer service, price and drink selection. read more

Wanted some boba after a Kinokuniya trip and noticed a decently long line coming from this little store, so it must be good, right? Yep! I was more than pleasantly surprised at the taste and quality. Jasmine milk tea - a very nice mild blend of just the right amount of milk and tea, with a slightly heavier lean towards the tea profile. In fact, the whole place smelled strongly of tea when we walked in. Love it, 5/5 Green tea mango - fruity and not too sweet, so perfect for my mom. 4/5 Original air pancakes - wow! We were surprised at how lightly sweet and amazingly soft and fluffy these pancakes were. The cream and fruit packed all the sweetness you need while the cake was a mild complement that carried the whole show. Definitely would get this again! 5/5 Popcorn chicken - small portion makes the price expensive; otherwise, the flavor was good, just good ol' salt and pepper, etc. Makes me nostalgic for school days getting popcorn chicken and boba at Dolphin Bay after school. Most places nowadays put more of a spin on their seasoning, but this is nice and simple. 4/5 read more

By far the best, most accessible souffle pancake available in Los Angles. Period. Early bird gets the worm. I have to admit, I did get up early to be here at 11:00am sharp. Breeze in to see a nice lady promptly get into position as I pushed through the door.. She showed me the options and recommend a few things to go with the Air pancake. I had a boba-craving during my stay in LA and came across this spot as I Yelped around. I ordered the roasted oolong milk tea with 50% sugar. The tea wasn't sweet which was great but there wasn't the "earthy" oolong flavor I was expecting either. The boba, on the other hand, tasted alright; it was warm and fresh. I'd consider this a pass. I'm not going to lie, my very first impression of Sharp Tea wasn't very good - other than this really small store looking a bit like a mess and also messing up on some orders to add to that, the prices looked a little exorbitant to me, even when I was considering the location it was at. But then I tried the store's signature Sharp Milk Tea and wow, I was blown away. I know it may sound cliche as an Asian person to say I've had a lot of milk tea in my life but I really have and this milk tea had a smoothness and the right amount of sweetness even at the 50% level to make it one of the best milk teas I've ever had. The taste of the drink reminded me of a boba milk tea from Taiwan's famed Chun Shui Tang but with a lighter texture. When you've had so many milk teas is your lifetime, something like this is a big blast of fresh air. Despite the hiccups, I would come back to Sharp Tea to try their fluffy pancakes and even more of their milk teas, which I hope are as good as their base milk tea. Hopefully, they'll work out some of their serving kinks by then! read more
