    Pinot Gris was my favorite
    Sarah L.

I really enjoyed visiting this winery. Hearing the history and the variety of wines, this place has both sweet and dry wines for people to enjoy. I ended up leaving with 2 bottles of Pinot Gris. I'm more of a dry wine person! It was interesting because their red wines were chilled! It didn't bother me because it's hot in the summer time so it's nice to have something chilled. They had 5 tastings for $10 and the bottles range from $15-29 each. The lot is small but if you make a right instead of turning left as if you're entering the winery. Turn right and there's a much larger shady parking lot. The outdoor area is very nice equipped with tables, outlets, and fans. Bring your lunch or a snack! I definitely enjoyed myself here!

Drove here from Johns Creek. The GPS made me go through a bunch of winding roads that were quite dangerous if you are not attentive to the sudden road changes. If you guys are coming from Marietta or SW Georgia, it's a little better. Sharp Mountain was something I never heard of until I discovered it from a Groupon ad. Located in Pickens County, Sharp Mountain offers an unique wine tasting experience with wines that are home grown on the same place that you taste them. the lady was nice and she was informative of all of the wines here. I like the reds and the sweets. I still prefer Wolf Mtn over this and other winery in the North Georgia. Check it out if you want something new esp if you are traveling from Gwinnett or Fulton. Parking will be a headache. There's a max of 5 slots and you are not allowed to park on the right side of the road making this is smallest parking lot for every other wineries I have been to in Georgia.

$10 for sampling of five wines

Real, romantic wine tasting vineyard right in our own backyard- Jasper- yes it's true. Scenic drive and they take the time to educate you. Cost is $10 for 5 decent size samples. Honestly, that may be all you need. They also offer complimentary dark chocolate to cleanse your palate and $20 cheese platters. Bring your friends and enjoy the tranquil setting and patio. The mountain setting will rejuvenate your soul. Don't forget to shop in their cute gift shop filled with novelty items. They close by 6 PM. And if you are hungry, there are some great restaurants in downtown Jasper.

Ok, NEVER KNEW about this winery which is the closest to our area! Sharp Mountain is a GEM right in our own backyard! This small, family owned vineyard is located north of Atlanta in Jasper. They have wines that are not typical for Georgia wineries (Cab Franc, Blends, Sangiovese, etc.) Wines range from $20-$30. They offer tastings on the weekends for $5.00 (4 glasses). They also host weddings, parties, and groups. Here's what I LOVE about this place, you can bring your own FOOD! They have a beautiful covered deck area with a grill. You can bring your own food to grill! They also have an area with tables and a firepit. If you want a more romantic experience, bring your picnic blanket and enjoy wine in between the beautiful vines! The owners are onsite and so accomodating! They will explain the history of the vineyard, talk about each wine, and make you feel welcome. Make sure to put Sharp Mountain on your list of places to visit!

We dry camped across from the vineyard and the view was stunning. The red wines we tasted were all fabulous. Give this place a try!

This is one of my favorites from the N GA wineries. The Collage and Sangiovese are fabulous. Put this winery on your list to visit.

Check for yourself it's. Beautiful view of the valley and a great conversational piece with the house situated across the way. We are also entertained by live music of some country and rock. Chardonnay they included was described perfectly- buttery and light. That was very tasty! The syrah and the merlot/cab blend my wife and I were not a fan of. The red blend is their best seller, which left us both a little disappointed actually. FOR PARENTS: Beyond the wine, we have read that this place is kid friendly and we would disagree. It on a hill so there isn't space for them to run around and have fun while parents can enjoy their drinks. We read that there are goats for kids to interact with but there was 1 goat and not a lot of activity. We were expecting a lot of space for our kids to explore and this was not it.

Our interaction with Brent and his mom (Miss Mary) were great, and I will say, I think it was an extra treat to experience the hospitality of Miss Mary!! Clearly, Brent didn't fall far from the tree (no pun intended)! We booked the 'Rustic Cabin Suite' which was their lowest price room available at the time, but it was well furnished, comfortable, quiet, and perfect for a place to stay for two. It was quiet, peaceful, and tranquil. Don't forget to take advantage of the Carin winery next door, and I hear (we missed out) the lodge offers an add on steak dinner (plan in advance) that sounds divine, and in that environment, will be on our list for our next visit! The lodge itself is well-appointed with a beautiful seating/gathering/eating area downstairs. Breakfast was great with a menu of French toast and apple bake, sausage, fresh fruit, orange juice and some of the best flavored coffee I've had in a LONG time (bourbon infused pecan). Beautiful grounds, beautiful people (Brent, Miss Mary, and fellow guests) and you can't go wrong with a stay at the beautiful Bent Tree Lodge and Vineyard!!

It's one of six places in Cherokee county listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It's next to the Canton Elementary School and Cherokee High School. From the outside it's got this modern industrial rustic cool vibe to it....now don't take this the wrong way but as a Walking Dead fan... the entire time I was here I felt like Darrell in that scene where he first discovers Hershel and his family have been keeping "walkers" inside the barn on the property.... So now that I've put visuals in your head of zombies...lets talk about this place as an event venue....first off the place can be rented for events, weddings and sorts. You do have to be a member of The Cherokee Historical Society and their membership is about $25.00 for an individual...which I'm all for because these guys really work hard to promote and preserve buildings of the past. The rental fees are on their website but it looks very reasonable. From $300 to $1200 depending on what day you want to rent it...
