Had a Burger from Sharks Burger for the first time. While I found the flavor of the burger to be pretty sensational, I was completely taken back by the fact that it was obviously a premade, frozen hamburger patty. Would I recommend that you drive all the up to W Hero Way in Leander for a 5-star burger, no. But if you are in the general vicinity then make it your business to visit for a great burger eating experience. As other's have noted Shark's shares space with a gas station/convenience store. In these crazy times of social distancing, you will have a hard time maintaining your "safe" space as there is a lot of traffic inside the store. We called in our order waited 15 minutes and I was able to retrieve our order within minutes. We both ordered their "build your own burgers", fries, and tater tots. My double meat jalapeno themed burger with pepper jack cheese, roasted jalapenos, and grilled onions was one of THE best burgers I've had in quite a while. The bun was a perfect envelope for my burger. It was soft but did not break apart even though my burger was oozing deliciousness. Their fries and tater tots are a good accompaniment to the star attraction. I can't gush over them as others have but they are AOK. I can't wait to try their buffalo chicken tender and rise and shine burgers. Both look pretty darn good. Keep in mind during their peak periods they do get jammed. Also, if you want a beverage (a tall Modelo Especial for example) you pay at the gas station counter. They are located in a gas station on Hero's way I. Leander and we've been here twice and both time the burgers were really good. I think what makes them special is that the bun is a little chewy, almost like a light bage,l so it holds up really well to a juicy burger without getting soggy. They also use really flavorful cheese. You can really taste the chedder and Monterey jack. All the other components of quality burgers are also there like juicy, not over cooked patties. I never thought I would drive 20 minutes to a gas station to order a burger. But I did. Kept hearing about Shark Burger and like supporting local businesses, so off I went to get one. It is in a gas station with hardly anything else around. Parked and walked into the store. You can't miss it as they have sharks all over. Placed my order for a shark burger with swiss hold the tomato and a side of tots. Could have stayed at the counter and watch them cook it instead decided to look around the store. I didn't get far after 10 minutes my order was ready. Go get my bag and head home. The drive home was torturous, the smell was intoxicating. Once home took some quick pics then dove in. It was good. Swiss melted perfectly, lettuce crisp, right amount of condiments, bun slightly sweet but sturdy enough not to fall apart, meat cooked well. It was very tasty. Was it the best I ever ate, no, but in the top ten. Oh my, I almost forgot about the tots. Crispy exterior and creamy interior. Seasoned well so you didn't need any condiments to dip them in. For being on the side of a gas station this place was crazy good . I can guarantee they'll have a full blown restaurant in a few years. I got the rise and shine burger for 8.50 and it was not only enormous (too big to eat alone) but also delicious !!! The fries were also amazing !!! TLDR: Excellent hamburger and sides, definitely worth a visit. I confess that I have a soft spot for local neighborhood spots - especially if they serve darned good food. Sharks Burger may not give you any real shark in your burger but they meet the bill! Sharks Burger is actually located inside the Shell station at the intersection of Old Farm-To-Market Road 2243 and Sunny Brook Drive. There's only 3 tables with two seats each, but it's comfortable enough. Service is fast and friendly, and to my delight they only cook to order instead of holding things under heat lamps. The burger patties are thin and served double-patty style on a deliciously chewy-soft brioche bun. Of special note are the made-to-order side of either fries or tater tots. Get the tots, they're tossed in sea salt and perfectly done. Two thumbs up for an excellent local business, I'll be back for my burger fix! Was in Leander for a volleyball tournament where we were unceremoniously getting out a$$es kicked so I was really in the mood for a good lunch at break to take my mind off the pain. I'm not scared, been to Hill Country in around Rock and Rudy's of course so I'm well versed in having good meals from quick joints. Walk in. There is a line. Good sign. Tight menu selections we went with a classic American, the bleu cheese special and the jalapeño jack and fries (they do have tots too). In just the time it takes you to get a drink from the gas station and score one of the three tables , your food is out. EXCELLENT. Beef is perfect and tasty and piping hot. Toppings are fresh and high quality and absolutely delicious. I see why there was a line when I got there and when I left. This has to be the best tasting burger I have ever had that I didn't make myself. It looked like it came out of a picture and was so perfectly assembled.
