Traffic on I-5, I-90, and Rainier Ave S was merciful and I found a parking spot diagonal from their food truck. I ventured over after 12noon and was greeted by one of the owners. She was putting finishing touches on the specials whiteboard. There's their usual menu, as well as, today's featured specials. I ordered a pair of pernil empanadillas. With my order, I was given a sauce cup with cilantro aioli, which was recommended by one of the owners. I kept the takeout box open so the empanadillas would remain crisp. The tantalizing scent permeated my car. I was good and did not feast on one while driving. Once home, a brief nuke, cut it in half, first tasted the pernil on its own (amazing!), then the crust (thin & crispy), finally another bite altogether with the recommended dipping sauce. My friend and I came here at 1pm on a Saturday after a long climbing session at Momentum SoDo just 7 minutes down the street. Note that they only have limited street parking, and so we decided to walk over from the gym. SoDo Poké shares a venue with a fried chicken place. They have separate ordering kiosks, but the seating and counter area are shared. SoDo Poké offers several types of poke including ahi, salmon, tako (octopus), and more along with several types of sauces and vegetables. They also offer Korean rice bowls. I ordered a regular Build Your Own Poké Bowl (+$18) with salmon, ahi, half salad and half white rice, sesame oil, spicy mayo, carrots, cucumbers, kimchi cucumber pineapple, and crispy onion. I treated my friend and so with for two Build Your Own Poké bowls, my total with tax and tip came to $42. Service was alright. It took about 15-20 minutes for us to get our food after ordering from the kiosk. The workers at the counter call your name and you pick up your food from the counter. There are bussing stations for when you're done, so there's not really much service involved. Portion-wise, the bowls are pretty small for $18, but they are fairly generous with the amount of protein in compared to other poke places. However, I can honestly say that the fish (especially the ahi) was not fresh and was very watery, bland, and mushy. While the vegetables were fairly fresh, the cucumber was not and tasted strangely soapy. I honesty debated whether I should eat it, but I was so hungry that I took the risk, except I pushed the cucumbers to the side. The atmosphere is very casual and fast food like. None of the tables had been wiped when we arrived and so I ended up having to wipe a table down myself. I also will note that the Health Safety Rating at this place is only "Okay", which isn't necessarily great when you're eating raw foods. Overall, I will sadly not be coming back. With high prices, low quality fish, and questionable hygiene practices, I will definitely be getting my poke elsewhere. 2/5 for food, 2.5/5 for service, 2/5 for atmosphere

Whether it's fish tacos or crab cakes in the summer, the delicious crab bisque and grill bread on a rainy winter day, or a lunchtime fish sando and fries, it always feels like a good time. It's also our go to post hike or kayaking comfort food. You can tell how much care the owner has for the business. He always greets guests with a big smile and makes sure you're taken care of. An awesome place to eat or swing by the fish market to pick up scallops, fish, or crab to grill at home. Highly recommend!
