The CowTown

Fresh cut fries in peanut oil, homemade bread, and serviced to our table with a kind smile! What more can you as for. Everything was delicious! They did let us know it would be a 30 min wait which was fine because we enjoyed shopping at Island Time and getting a Pony Pop drink with our food. Highly RECOMMEND!

Friendly and efficient staff. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. They had a menu with several option. They brought the food to our picnic table and threw some candy in the bag.

Charleston and cow town and fresh cut fries!

Riding down Ocean Highway on my harley, looking a place to stop for lunch. I used the GPS on my…read morebike to see what restaurants were on the route. As we were very hungry and didn't want to stop to research where to go, I selected the 1st seafood restaurant. It was about 8 miles away. We had to u-turn and back track about a 1/4 mile as it was on the east side of the divided highway. At first glance, I was disappointed and annoyed. We wanted an actual sit-down restaurant so we could take a break, and what we see is a fresh fish market. It's a really old rundown looking fish market. But like I said, we were really hungry, and there were a few vehicles there. Some had people eating in them, so we went inside. As soon as we walked inside, the smell of fresh seafood hit us. It didn't sink. It smelled really fresh. There's 2 counters inside and no place to sit. The only seating is picnic tables outside. The first counter is the fresh raw seafood, and the 2nd way off to the left is for placing your order. We kill about for a bit while looking at the handwritten menu. An older man with a Russian accent and the sea weathered appernce you'd expect in a lifelong fisherman was helping other customers. When it our turn,it was a hard decision because it seems you can have them cook any of the seafood from the other counter. We both went with the classic fish in chips. What we got to a while as it's completely made to order. Yo! This fish was in the ocean swimming yesterday! It's that fresh! So, the fish was fried flounder filet, and the fries were standard frozen fries with old bay type seasoning. This was the best fried fish I'd had in a very, very long time. The fries weren't bad, but the fish was next level. If you're every driving by and have a hankering for great fresh seafood, stop here. You won't regret it.

TLDR: Liquid Assets is serving some of the best food in Ocean City, with creative small plates,…read moreexcellent whiskey cocktails, and a great liquor store built right into the experience. We stopped by for lunch shortly after arriving for our OCMD beach weekend and were thoroughly impressed by the caliber of food LA is dishing out. What started as a liquor store with a bar has evolved into a seriously good restaurant that stands out from the usual beach fare. Our table of four shared a bunch of small plates and a few larger dishes. We tried the steamed mussels, buffalo wings, tuna crisps, baked oysters, short rib pot pie, and Kung Pao calamari. The rich short rib pot pie was excellent, and we loved the baked oysters with aged cheddar, honey chipotle, and fresh chimichurri. Our favorite was the Kung Pao calamari, which had a great sweet Asian heat that made it a fun spin on the classic. We also ordered a round of cocktails, with the bourbon and whiskey based drinks being the favorites. The Wild Fashioned was especially good. Another great perk is that dining guests receive 10 percent off purchases from the attached liquor store. We happily took advantage and stocked up on Willett bourbon and Clase Azul tequila for the rest of the beach weekend. Overall, Liquid Assets is a great place to come for a drink or three with some elevated bites, especially when you are ready for a break from typical beach food. We will definitely be back.

That said, our waitress was so accommodating and graciously swapped out our dish for something else, which we really appreciated. We decided to give it another try, and WOW, what a difference! It looks like they've replaced on the menu the clams and spaghetti which was unfortunately super sandy with crab and spaghetti, and the new version is incredible! Such a cool, unique dish with amazing flavor. Yes, it's messy, but honestly, that's part of the fun, and I absolutely loved it! The cornbread was delicious, too, and the team delivered excellent service once again. It's wonderful to see a restaurant make changes that elevate the experience. We're so glad we came back! I hope the spaghetti stays on the menu.

It was really busy, but you honestly wouldn't have known it because the service was so attentive and friendly. We started with the hush puppies, and the maple butter was SO good and paired perfectly with them. I ordered the crab cakes, and as a Maryland girly, I have to say they were definitely up to par! My husband really enjoyed his fish and chips as well. Our girls also loved that they had crayons and paper to draw, which was such a nice touch for families. We'll definitely be back!
