This is a food truck that appears to be adjacent to the actual residence of the people that run it, based on the way that people were milling in and out. In terms of quality, the experience was about as good as I could have hoped for. I called in advance but it still took a minute to get my pizza ready, which is okay as fresh food outside on an island is worth waiting for, but bears keeping in mind. There are some picnic tables set up nearby but I did have to depart due to wind and find a more sheltered locale to eat. The pizza had relatively whole crushed tomatoes, which is usually not my preference, but in this case the flavor really hit. The tang, the char, the smoothness of the contrasting ingredients is what you'd get at a high-end place. A salad with ranch dressing and the tiramisu I got for dessert were not on the online menu, but having arrived and seen these options I was glad I elected to take them. It's not the same experience as a sit-down restaurant, but it was a winner for me. read more

We visited the island last summer for the first time with my family and my wife and I ordered pizza from Cosa every single day, on day we ordered twice. This year, we have planned two trips to the island and my wife and I are already planning how many Cosas pizzas and island creamery visits we can fit in. It's been almost a year and we're still talking about it. Can't wait to come back! read more

Delicious! Growing up in NJ/NY area I have pretty high standards for our pizza. I was shocked to find such delicious pizza on the island! I love that you can sit and enjoy your pizza outside the truck as well, very family friendly. Our pizzas were delicious and I was super impressed with the pickle pizza. Great concoction. Service was kind & quick. Great place to stop! read more

Excellent pizza. Try the Big Dill - sounds weird but is tasty!!! We also had Meatza Americano & Pepperpony.

We enjoyed Pizza from this location twice during our stay. The food and service were wonderful.

Such a cute little spot, the restaurant is a trailer/food truck kind of thing. They have minimal seating and it's all outdoor. They have cornhole to play also. Pizza is def made with love! Flavors were amazing. They cook it fresh as well. read more

Delicious! We should've made pizza on the island a priority years ago. We ordered the Margherita and Americano pizzas. Ingredients were fresh, the flavors were great, and we all loved the crust. The lady taking our order was very friendly and easy to talk to. We will be back to try more! read more

Would have loved to try this, the reviews were good. But every day that we tried to visit, the sign was out that they were closed due to the heat. It was 82. Sorry, but it's summer in Virginia. If you think this is too hot, maybe a food truck isn't the business for you. read more

The hot pepper pony is the way to go! Staff was nice and the pizza took 20 minutes to get after ordering by phone. Will be returning!

Amazing pizza - while visiting Chincoteague did a search for pizza. Found Cosa wood fired pizza. We ordered two - the Launchpad and Margherita. They were big for the price and delicious! Would definitely go back! read more

Delicious firebrick oven pizza! Think personal size pizza. We got two for our family of four (kids 8&6) and it was plenty for us with a few slices left for a late night snack! Ordered at the food truck and he brought it out to our car when it was done! read more

This is really good pizza. Not just really good beach pizza to enjoy on vacation but if this trailer was in my neighborhood, I would be there all the time. Located next to Whippy's, Cosa is a trailer situated in a yard with a small gravel parking lot that fits about six cars. They have small patio tables and chairs for outdoor seating. If you look into the trailer and yard you'll see their very own wood burning stove. We ordered the meatza and americano. The americano is a bbq chicken type of pizza and it was so good I ate it all. In one sitting. Literally an entire pizza. Love the thin and slightly charred crust. So naturally I ordered another pizza-the lemon ricotta version of a white pizza. Just as delicious. While we were there they actually sold out of pizzas at 3pm, that's how popular it was. Added bonus they gave my puppy a Cosa tennis ball! Will be back!!! read more

Located next to Mr. Whippy, Cosa serves delicious wood fired pizzas. We arrived right when they opened and two pizzas (12") took about 20 minutes to make. Got the Pepperpony and Meatza. I enjoyed the Meatza which came pepperoni, italian sausage, prosciutto, red onion, and arugula. The dough was slightly burnt and bubbly. Toppings were generous and fresh. Don't be too eager to eat a slice because it's hot and your toppings will slide off. I enjoyed the crust which was soft, slightly chewy, yet crispy at the same time. C&N enjoyed their Pepperpony pizza, which also came with a good amount of pepperoni. Parking is available in the lot where Cosa sits. Entrance is standard car size and I found quite a few people (us included) turned right before the entrance to the parking lot. Note there are no restrooms here. But since it's next to Mr. Whippy, you could grab some dessert or coffee when you use the restroom there. read more

Really enjoyed the wood fired pizzas we ordered last evening. As many are doing on the island, their food truck is located on a lot with tables and umbrellas. Super cute and the food was delicious. The meat-za and a shrimp scampi themed specialty pie was fresh and delicious - nor did we wait long for them to be finished. I have no doubt that the lines are longer in season, but it was a quick turnaround and a delightful meal to carry over to the beach to watch the sunset. read more

Great pizza! All of the crusty goodness of a wood-fired pizza. So far, the best pizza on the island that we have tried. The margarita was tasty and had the right balance of cheese to sauce to crust. We called ahead at lunchtime and it was a 1.5 hour wait (it was a rainy day so likely higher demand). Definitely call ahead! Folks were really nice at pickup--even though we had to wait extra due to an order mix-up, they made the pizzas right away. Will be back next time we are in town! read more

Great little pizza food truck. BBQ chicken was great, and loved the MeatZa and the special too. Quick easy grab with call ahead ordering.

Was super excited to try this food truck. I think I just ordered the wrong pizza. Will come back again to try one with red sauce. My mushroom and prosciutto pizza was a bit dry- I think it could've used some ricotta or more cheese. The staff was super friendly and helpful. read more

Great wood fired pizza, unique combos you don't find anywhere else. Tried the Meatza and the Prosciutto Mushroom. Came here on a Friday night and had high expectations b/c of all the reviews. They surpassed them. This is some of the best, if not the best, wood fire pizza we have ever had. Ordered the Truffle Shuffle (roasted garlic, mushrooms, ricotta, truffle blend), and it was full of flavor and the crust was just perfect. Would've paired well with an earthy red like a Brunello if we were feeling saucy. She had a specialty pizza with pepperoni, honey, ricotta, and arugula that tasted much better than it sounds! Super fresh ingredients can really make the difference. Everything is COVID friendly too. Masks required and walk-up orders only. So A+ all around. read more

Although it's a very high rating on yelp, I stopped by and they were closed. Specifically they're open on Sundays. I tried to call the number and their mailbox had not been set up. I'm a big supporter of local business, and was looking forward to trying their pizza and supporting a local family. Unfortunately their hours weren't correct on yelp or their website. At a minimum they should answer their phone or leave a message that states why they're closed. read more

Visited Chincoteague island recently and wanted to try out all their foods here. Cosa Pizza delivers really great pizza using wood fire. I love it when you take a bite you can really hear that crunch from the thin crust. Only bad thing I can say is at some parts of the crust I can taste the "burnt parts. However I would totally come back again to try out their other pizzas. Staff is friendly! Make sure to call ahead of time especially close to their closing hours since they can run out of pizzas. I've seen people arrive to the place and get turned down because they're already sold out for the day. There is parking available but limited. read more

Relocated from TX to VA. We traveled to Chincoteague Island for the first time expecting good sea food. We tried two different restaurants with big disappointment. One of the two restaurants had us waiting over an hour and we decided to get our check. It was not the waitress' fault but the kitchen staff. A few other customers also left. After attempting to find good sea food for 4 hours, we came across Cosa Pizza. Staff was friendly, informative, and professional. Even offered a 15% military/veteran discount which we thought was a very nice gesture. Staff immediately informed us it was a 30 minute wait, which we had no problem of doing. Let me tell you, we ordered two of the pepperoni pizzas with jalapeños and they were delicious! Cosa Pizza, great job! I would definitely recommend to anyone and stop here again. Thank you! You saved our day! read more

Excellent crust. Light and fluffy. Best crust we have ever had. We had the pepperoni.

We love Cosa. The pizza selection is unusual and they're all exceptional. A bonus is that the crust is quite thin and light, so they don't fill you up. My wife is a light eater and can eat a whole pizza herself. I like the Lemon Song and Sausage Estate. My only complaint is that they don't take phone orders and the wait tends to be long, although according to their site they now take orders for later in the day similar to a dinner reservation. Haven't tried that yet. That being said, they're worth the wait. Just plan for it. We usually run an errand after ordering. read more

It's good pizza. Maybe even the best pizza on the island. I was lucky to arrive early and miss the line that surely forms around dinner time. I'm not sure if they toss some wood chips in the oven but the smoke alone is delicious as you approach. read more

So glad we got to tried this last week. We ordered the Margherita, Proscuitto E Funghi (on cauliflower crust) and Truffle Shuffle. All were outstanding! Everything was fresh. The cauliflower crust was just a good as the regular crust. The Truffle Shuffle was my personal favorite. The mushroom, truffle and cheese just luxuriously melt in your mouth. It's the best tasting pizza I have ever had so far. I am craving for it now! The owners were very friendly and accomodating. I would give this business ten stars if I could. read more

I have heard great things about this place but they are totally unreliable. Website says open till 8. Not answering phone so I drove over. Closed. Waited from 4-430 never opened. Left. I know they only prepare so many pizzas and maybe they sold out but a good business practice would be to post a sign that they sold out for the day. Just a chalk board. Other food trucks on the island do that. Just plain decent communication. So disappointing read more

Cosa Pizza, a friendly, romantic food truck with fresh basil you can clip and sprinkle on your pies and delightful music setting a scene, is a place that easily justifies the three-hour drive from DC. The pies are as good as the best pies you'll get anywhere: crust equal parts crispy and chewy, with air bubbles lending character; flavorful sauce; high-quality cheese; a perfect blend of salty, creamy, and meaty (whether or not mushrooms are your "meat"); and staff who clearly care about what they do. We brought our pizzas back to the hotel for an orgy of TV, dinner, and beer. It couldn't have been a more perfect night, all thanks to Cosa. Addendum: I would also say that the photos on Yelp don't do the pizzas justice; they're even yummier-looking in person. Addendum 2: I had the truffle pie and my husband had a margarita with mushrooms. We're vegetarians and found the mushrooms expertly prepared, but I bet the meat pizzas are every bit as good. read more

Great taste, you can't beat wood fire pizza! Well worth the wait for good quality pizza with great flavor options to suit any taste!

Tried calling an hour ahead, no one answered. Tried walking up and was told they had call ins booked for the next hour and a half. Pretty terrible business model for a food truck. Either answer the phone or only take walk ups so meals aren't left to chance. read more
