Came in here for dinner. Several people working. Stood in the lobby for about 10 minutes and watched every employee walk by us. No one ever welcomed us or said a word. A coupe employees even came to the register a few feet away from me and wouldn't even look up at us. Finally just decided to leave and go across the street to Elmers. Had a great dinner with nice service over there. Very odd behavior of the staff here. And no, they weren't even busy. Just no one could be bothered to seat us or greet us. Too bad, I wanted some pie! After 4 years of living in Grants Pass, and coming to this Shari's in particular many times, I feel an update was necessary. The food here is hit or miss, and mostly incredibly mediocre. The pie can be either fantastic or downright stale and gross. Sometimes you get a generous portion of food on your plate, other times it's stingy as all get out. They do not give real butter with the bread/toast/pancakes, but nasty tasting fake food margarine. This to me is just cheap, even fast food places offer real butter! Tonight I tried to order the holiday turkey dinner that they had a huge banner outside advertising, and another little advertisement on the table....well according to the waitress it was not available, she said only for the holiday....ummm, well it's a week before Christmas, isn't this the holiday season? I mean we only came in because I saw the banner... talk about bait and switch. She told me I could still get the turkey dinner off the 'senior' menu. This made no sense, but I ordered it anyway, and to be honest, it tasted about the same as a Banquet TV dinner. Waste of my money. My daughter's sandwich came with half the items missing, because they had run out. She offered us a free piece of pie instead. It was late at night when we arrived in Grants Pass. We were tired and hungry. Not many places open but we looked on YELP and discovered this place with great reviews was open till 2:00 am. Yay! We were seated right away. A very sweet reversal seated us, and brought us our drinks. They had a large group in this evening and she was obviously tired but she was amazing in spite of the overload she had. We relaxed over a wonderful meal and were thankful to find great food and service late at night. Sharis is a predictable chain and you know what you are going to get because the food is fairly consistent from one franchise to the next. I was REALLY hungry, pressed for time and needed a good meal served up quickly and efficiently. So the one star review was due to Sharis being unwilling/unable to deliver on my very modest expectations. The place was pretty empty. I was seated immediately and asked what I'd like to drink. I said water. That was the last I saw or heard from anyone there. 15 minutes later, no water. No one took my order. I eventually took a leisurely saunter towards the door and the few staff in view were working the register or attending to maintenance like refilling supplies. There was a girl busing tables but I couldn't seem to get her attention. There was a girl who I presume was my waitress who was in a protracted conversation with an old couple a few booths away. The three of them were talking when I was shown my table and they were still at it when I left 15 minutes later. I'm happy she has a job that doesn't interfere with her social life. Now here's a franchise that is badly in need of a manager who will get the correct priorities established for staff. You guys are in business to earn profits selling meals, right? read more

Absolute disappointment, the only decent part of the meal was a charred steak, starved with a side of mashed potatoes that looked like they fell on the floor. The gravy looked like semen, and had a taste reminiscent of it. Even the rolls were abysmal. The disappointment I have in this restaurant can be hardly described by the English language, and my emotion over it may require the use of a thesaurus. This place was incredibly delicious. I loved everything I ordered. I got an egg scramble with tomato, Pico de Gallo, cheese, and sausage. I go a side of buttermilk pancakes. I also got 2 hot teas. The eggs were really tasty. I'm picky about eggs and at most places, I don't like their eggs. They are watery or rubbery or tasteless. But these eggs are flavorful and fluffy. The cheese actually tasted like yummy cheddar cheese. The sausage was YUM! And the pancakes were fluffy and cakey. Waitress was friendly. They had a bunch of award winning pies too but I was so full that I haven't tried mine yet. I'm not from Oregon so I got their Marion berry pie, which is supposed to be exclusively from Oregon! Also ordered Banana cream. They also give you a reward card where if you sign up you get a free slice. Wish they had this place in LA! read more

We saw a lot of bad reviews for this Shari's location, (mostly during off-hours, it seemed)...but we are traveling and had a really good meal at one a few days ago. So we decided to chance it--especially since its the middle of the day and they look fully staffed. I had pretty nice, typical fish and chips, and the husband had a grilled ham and cheese. We were happy with it!! Service was good and fast, food was tasty and we were able to get in and out, and get back on the road quickly. And of course, there was pie!! I really like their Marionberry cheese pie, which you cannot get in California of course, so it was a win/win!! read more

I don't mind paying $14.00 plus dollars for an omelete breakfast, however what I just had at the Grants Pass Sharis, was embarrassing! A spring omelete with 2 spinach leaves 2 slices of a piece of mushroom, no cheese and way overcooked! Pancakes were so dry, they werent edible! Stopped by to eat here because almost everything else was closed on Independence Day. I use to eat here often just for the cream cheese and strawberry crepes, unfortunately they have since taken them off the menu. So I decided to order the breakfast sampler, but substituted the pancakes for biscuits and gravy. The bacon was so over cooked that I couldn't eat it. The sausage was close to the same. The biscuits and gravy came to the table cold, although it did have a great flavor, and probably would have been perfect had it been served warm. The best part of the meal was the eggs and hash browns. The kids ate pancakes with chocolate syrup (sugar overload, lol), and my husband ate a bacon cheddar patty melt, which he said was delicious. I swear these restaurants (no matter which location you go to) have the WORST service. I ordered a few slices of pie at 10 PM, they told me 20 minutes until it's ready. We show up to get it at 10:20 and they don't have our order. They take our order again. Twenty minutes later, no pie. We ask how long it'll be. They pop out half the order and we ask where the other half is and they had no recollection of us placing the other half of the order even though we went over it with them TWICE. I just had one of the most extraordinary and positive customer experiences ever. You know how occasionally you'll get waited on in a store or restaurant by someone who leaves you with the feeling that the opportunity to wait on you was a privilege, and the best thing to happen to them all day? That's the feeling Heidi left me with. What makes this extraordinary was this was not, because of Covid, a sit-down experience, but an order for two coconut cream pies to go. Whoever hired her deserves a raise, and she certainly deserves one. I don't often go to Shari's; I was picking up pies for my stepson's birthday. Was ordered through DoorDash so please take this with a grain of salt. Let me begin with the only reason it's a three star because of the PIE! Delicious! On the other hand the food we received was very over cooked and the mashed potatoes weren't very mashed. The chicken we ordered was the star of this meal.. really the only good thing we ate. I can't even give this place a review. Place was almost empty but our waitress complained about drowning. Her hygiene wasn't good. Took forever to get our food. All three of our plates were cold. It was Sunday driving around Medford, looking for someplace to eat. Three restaurants were closed: for lack of wait help...or to observe Sunday as a day of rest. At 12:45pm we found Shari's was open...not too busy..about 5 tables. Ordered their famous pancake "special" -you know...the usual 2 eggs, pancakes & sausage. My husband order one of the skillet dishes. After almost 30 min wait, I called the hostess about the slow service and she went back into the chef' s area. 20 min later we were served. Very POOR SERVICE for these reasons: 1) I had to ASK for water, 2) I had to ASK for tableware, 3) never got the coffee ordered, 4) waited another 10 min for our check. While waiting, I watched the waitress set up other tables and was SHOCKED to see her handling the fork by the tongs, the tip of the butterknife, and the spoon with her fingers...she never once used the handles to set the table!!! On November 19, 2021 (Friday), my wife called our local Sheri's Restaurant (Grants Pass Oregon) and asked if they had prime rib for that evening. The restaurant's representative said, yes, but make sure we were there before 5pm. So we asked our friends to join us for a prime rib dinner at Sheri's. We all arrived about 4:45pm and where promptly seated. Drinks arrived and the waitress asked us for our order. We all asked for the Prime Rib dinner. She apologized and said that they were out of prime rib, that their delivery hadn't arrive. My wife told the waitress that she had called earlier that day and was assured, by Sheri's staff, that prime rib was available. The waitress again apologized. She did say that they had T-bone, so T-bone dinners were ordered. Unfortunately, the quality of the T-bone was not good. It lacked taste and was mostly gristle. It WAS NOT a satisfactory dinner. My wife and I eat at this particular Sheri's often. I understand the possibility of product delivery delays and Covid restrictions. It can be hard in maintaining/running a restaurant these days, but please don't lie to us when we call about having a particular item. read more

The pie was the only redeeming part of our visit. We had prime rib french dip sandwiches which tasted like the meat should have been tossed the day before. I was having a rough day and long drive from Seaside, OR, and I stopped in for a late lunch. Carol, my server, was so wonderful helping me feel better. I had never been to a Shari's before, but the $9.99 lunch was perfect. I had a grilled cheese sandwich and Caesar salad and Marionberry pie for dessert. She was attentive when needed, and laid back the rest of the time. It was a great experience there, the food was excellent, mostly the pie- but it really hit the spot, and I felt better to drive to Medford for the night. It's great to know there's still people out there that can brighten someone's day. Carol was great, the restaurant clean, and very friendly staff.
