I've been to many massage parlors, and this place is definitely my favorite. They know what they are doing. Very strong hands and you don't even have to tell them which part of your body is aching the most, they just know. I have tight shoulders and upper back pain and they will focus most on those areas. For my husband it's lower back and they will focus more there too. I took three of my friends there after a long pickleball session and they were blown away. They loved it too! So I'm spreading the word here! 55 for full body one hour. I usually tip $20 but when they're exceptionally better I tip more. Call and make appt before you go in. They always have availability Don't get confused with the other shanti. There's two on palpark. Look at the photo on yelp of the outside. read more

One of the best massages I've had in a while. Michael was very thorough to get all of my knots in my shoulder. Highly recommend!!!

Great massage and value! Would highly recommend. Everyone was very kind and professional.

I've been here a few times now and the staff is always very friendly, polite, and professional. They really put in the work in your massage. You can give a preference of masseuse gender. I usually get a full body massage. They focus on your tense problem areas and really try to get any knots or tension out while still making sure you're comfortable. They also give complimentary mini waters at the end. Overall an enjoyable experience for a great price. read more

Shanti Spa - Part of the room - Massage Near Me - Palisades Park, New Jersey

great experience with full staff and the mmassages were great!Mandi and yaya are awesome

I got massage from a female. Very relaxing! Perfect pressure. She's very nice and easy to make appointment with. Service was good.

I found this hidden gem from another Yelper. My massage experience was excellent. I did the 60 min full body with hot stone + 20 minute foot massage. The cost is very inexpensive, with that being said, I tip between $20-$25. I was hesitant about having a male masseuse because I thought a man's pressure maybe too intense, but the guy I had was perfect. I will definitely request him again. I was in such a deep state of relaxation, I felt as if I was off in the clouds. I will be on cloud 9 for awhile. I workout a lot with intense cardio, and the foot massage was perfect. I had some pain at the ball of my upper foot. The foot massage relieved that ache. The acupressure on my feet felt so good that I extended my foot massage. I'm happy that the spa was not busy wherein I could extend my time. I visited on the evening of Christmas Eve. read more

I found out about this place from a Yelp friend of mine. I did not believe how cheap the prices were for a massage so I went in for a try. As I walked in there was a line of people getting their "Foot Reflexology". So I had to wait. Their is a price list to go by, and I decided to try the 80min (60min back + 20min foot). First they do your feet, and then your back (actually full body). So they rinse your feet in some warm water and cleanser to sanitize then they get in. The lady I had, Eda, was amazing. She checked in on me every now and then, and asked if the strength she was using was too strong. She massaged every inch of my feet, and lower leg. So it's not just feet. This was the first time I've had a foot massage, and it was very relaxing and a must. Then you go get your back massaged. I can tell you that this is NOT just a back massage. She didn't leave an inch of my body that she didn't work on. Well, except for the private area, stomach and chest. She even massaged my face and head. I felt like a new man after she was done. The amazing part is they have a timer set for their massages so you WILL NOT get cheated for a single minute or even second less than what you pay for! This lady spent 80min on my entire body, and it only costed $45!!!! FYI: I noticed they had a very lucrative deal, and I'm all about "a good deal". You buy 10 massages of any type of minutes and you get 2 free. I was completely sold on my first time in this place, and bought the package. They say you can use at other Shanti locations, and you can give to anyone else (family, friend, etc). With NO expiration date. They keep track of what package you bought and your sessions. TIP: I recommend calling ahead and reserving a time slot as they do get busy. ******With the low cost, and money you save I highly recommend tipping well****** read more

The massage started 15 min after our appointment time. The ladies giving the massage were speaking in another language and laughing while we were getting a massage, which I thought was a bit rude. The downstairs bathroom was a-little messy. Other than that the massage was good and so was the price. read more

Have been coming here for the past five years. Always a nice treat and they upgraded their facility for the new year

Massage is good. I recommend this place. Ive been here many times before. The employee are very nice. They are very professional

this is easily the best foot and body massage place around (and there are many to choose from)...unlike the others, they are true professionals and the massages are amazing and therapeutic I come here every week. read more

Ive been coming here since moving to nj, one of the best massage places in palisades park!!

$35 one hour massage is a steal, it has so much better than $100 25min massage at Mohonk Mountain Resort!! The Chinese masseuse really knew how to use forceful strokes to target deep muscle layers , I felt so much better after she massaged the knot away. The place has no frills, it is not fancy like Mohonk Spa, there's no candles, no incense, no pretty zen decorations, etc. However, if you are looking for an inexpensive but effective massage, look no further! Besides, they offer a point card which gives you free hot stone massage after the 10th visit! P.S. I recommend giving at least $10 tip because you are already saving a lot. read more

The massage was average and could have been better Gad the therapist spoke English...maybe?!

Massage prices here are the cheapest in the area! I have my usually place down the street where a full body 1 hr is $40 [without tip] & 90min for $58 [without tip]. Here a "back rub" is actually a full body massage, including scalp to0o where 1 hr is a shocking $35 [without tip] :-O So0o, yelp shows mixed reviews, possibly it depends on your masseuse. I had Mimi who spoke English & has soft strong hands. I thought she was excellent & thoughtfully asked & adjusted pressure to my points of super tension. Please tip, especially if they do well. There is a sign at the front desk that suggest a $10 for soft pressure, $15 for medium and $20 for hard. One could follow that. But for the cost of an hour full body work, I say it wouldn't be too hard to give them a high tip. Will definitely be coming back here! ** Take note, there are multiple Shanti's very close in proximity to one another-- make sure which one you'd like to go to read more

I went here & got a 30 min foot massage & 60 min body massage. It was PERFECT. i was in heaven. They use hot stones for the feet and really did a fantastic job. The spa isn't big but it was clean and comfortable. If you're 6 ft like me the bed for the massage won't be long enough. They also had Covid procedures in place and make u fill out a contact tracer form. For 65$ I'd go back. #relaxation read more

THESE REVIEWS ARE DIFFERENT FOR EVERYONE! Let me explain my husband and my own experiences. He got the $35 - 60 minute Full Body massage, and I'm reading these reviews and people say they didn't get the full thing but my husband is more than satisfied and feels great after his massage. He explains that his masseuse was very attentive and had a great attitude the whole times. She DID give him a full body massage like advertised also. He says we will be coming back more often. My experience was AMAZING. I got the $30 - 60 minute foot reflexology massage. My masseuse literally was getting all the tension and knots out of my legs and feet. I didn't even know I had tension on my legs until he started targeting areas. I was like wow. I fell asleep a few times because it was very relaxing, but woke up when he started getting the harder areas. He always asked if everything was okay and also had a great attitude. 10/10! The tipping situation is reasonable. IF YOU don't tip, then don't get service here. Think about it. Regular massage chains charge up to $100 for massages per person, without tip included. Then you tip 10%, 15%, or 20% based on your experience. Let's say 15% out of $100, is $15. They just spent 60 minutes tending to your body. Sometimes they even charge more for massages... I've seen up to $300 for a 1 hour! Now, this business charges $35 for a full body 60 massage, 25% tip to that price is $8.75... with the amount of time and work they put into your massage, I think that's not fair. $15 or $20 is much more fair. You're still paying basically $50 for a 60 minute massage, plus free hot stones, but I rather pay $50 including tip than $100 not including tip. If people had a different experience, I can't speak for them I'm sorry, but these reviews are very mixed. I suggest you try it for yourself and if you had a good experience, ask for your masseuse's name for future appointments. Good luck! read more

Really solid massage place. I don't live here, but every time I come out to visit my buddy in Palisades Park I have to make a trip out here. For the money, it's one of the best massage I've gotten - full body rub down + hot stone, which not many places offer for $35/hour. Place is also clean and I like that you can have a private room or couple room. Would totally come back and recommend to anyone - make it a trip, come get a massage and some excellent Korean food out in Palisades Park! read more

I paid for my service and I tipped what I felt the employee deserved (25%) but then was cornered and confronted rather angrily by the owner who demanded that I tip $20 more. This expectation was not presented to me prior to the massage, and I would never understand why a place would have a mandatory tip percentage for a massage that should be paying the employees enough. Rude, unprofessional, and I might go as far to say that the owner relied on the customers tips to pay the employees for their work and probably takes all the money paid for the service instead of respectfully paying their employees correctly. Terrible business, would not recommend to others. read more

I saw the reviews for this place and figured I'd give it a shot since it's 15 mins closer to home than my usual massage spot. My boyfriend and I booked a couples massage for an hour. We're avid rock climbers and were looking forward to a nice recovery massage. There were several toe curling, wincing moments that just made me feel like I had more knots that I thought. Hours later, I had bruises all over my back and I was more achey thank when I had initially gone in. Cut to days later, and my lower back is in pain. I'd think that maybe it was just the massage therapist that I got, but my boyfriend is in the same shape. When we were checking out, I left a 25% tip per therapist although I didn't find the massage to be that great. The receptionist counted the tip in front of us with this look of utter dismay. It was an overall poor experience that we are still paying for over a week later. I feel like I need to go and get an adjustment from my chiropractor at this point. read more

Great place! Been a customer for years now, very accommodating with my requests and clean.

I only gave 2 stars as a positive because the front desk staff was friendly and the rooms were upstairs. This location was the broad st location with the massage rooms upstairs. Not the palisades ave, Englewood location which was way better they listen to what you want. The rest unfortunately is negative. We went for a couples massage and were very clear about wanting a relaxation massage , WE SPECIFICALLY SAID LIGHT MASSAGE before the massage started. Both female workers had headphones and acted as if they understood what we wanted and commenced the massage . Several times I had to signal and tell her to lighten up and so did my partner. We came out worst than going in. It was slight torture they didn't care or listen to what we wanted. We couldn't relax we would tense up every time they dug an elbow or knuckle on our backs. It was definitely a deep tissue torture. That wasn't a relaxing massage, esp when she tried to use and elbow down my spine! They need to be trained and know what areas of the body they should never apply pressure to. 3 weeks later and my partner is still in pain with a pinched nerve after that torture. So please beware. read more

Massage is okay, but not good. She did good massage on back muscle, but also, hurt my backbone, too. And lastly, I do not understand why but they charged me 3 dollars more. The reason is I used a credit card, and it charged to tax (Massage is $45, but tax is $3.) and also, that they force to pay more tips as they wish - Is it legally okay that they can force the customer to add more tip as they wish, not customer wishes? (They forced tip to pay $15) read more

Came here at the suggestion of a friend who got his back destroyed by the intense massage he received here and since I'm a sucker for pain, decided to check it out. And having gone to get massages in China for over 10 years, I was looking forward to some painful sessions that can alleviate some of the knots in my shoulders, neck, and legs that I'd collected while not having gotten a massage for the past few years. I made reservations over the phone but because of their lack of command over the English language, it was difficult to gauge then if they understood what we were trying to do and it was obvious after I hung up that they took neither my name and phone number, only what time and how many people were coming in. And after driving almost 2 hours to get there, it was a bit frustrating that they were booked at the time and didn't get my reservations in. So I waited for about 30 mins in their tiny, cramped waiting area while they scrambled to find someone who can give body massages. I paid about $40 for a 90 min full body massage and I must say that I was slightly disappointed. When the masseuse worked hard, it was delightfully painful but about 90% of that time was spent on my back. My arms, legs, stomach, and head all split the rest of the time and it was minimal. The soothing hot oil felt really nice and the hot stones were great too but I wished they had warned me before they plopped down the rocks because it was a bit too shocking to feel like I'm being pierced with a branding iron. My masseuse was tough but friendly. Fortunately, she spoke Mandarin so I was able to tell her if I wanted it more intense or where I had the most pain (most people here spoke a dialect I didn't understand from China). The room itself was just enough space and they only had one small hook for your clothes. I wished they had a little table to put my clothes, wallet, cell, etc on instead of the wall hook. All-in-all, not bad but also not great either. It may be worth getting the foot massage here as it seems like that's what most people were getting and if I lived much closer, but to drive 2 hours for this may not be worth it for me. Parking: Limited metered street Price: $30+ Wait: Can be long read more

I had a subpar experience at Shanti and walked out unpleasantly. The massage itself was fine. Nothing special here: no aroma, no soothing music, no communication. The interior was very basic; the pictures looked better than the actual interior. The worst part was tipping. When my friend offered to tip $5 after getting $40 massage, the host refused twice and complained it was too little. My friend kept asking him to give the tip to the therapist, and he reluctantly took it. Honestly, I was baffled by their mentality regarding tipping. We paid a affordable price to get a quick cheap massage service. Why would they demand a big tip? It might have been better if we did not offer tips at all. read more

I went here because my favorite place to go was booked and couldn't take me. So I wanted a 2 hour massage. I like a lot of pressure so I enjoy more Asian modalities. I don't think the massage therapist knew what she was doing. She kept putting her forearm bone on my spine and it was extremely painful. I asked her to not go so deep but the punishment didn't stop. I told her at least 5 times to lighten up. I started to think that maybe she didn't understand me so I tried to use different words to better communicate. Gentle, lighter, not so deep, not so hard, ouch. I even tried to use body language to get my feelings across but to no avail. I felt bad for her but I was feeling worse for me. When she got to my legs it was a little more bearable. The back was murder. It was finally over and I went to pay. $65 which is a great price and I gave the girl $14 tips. I work for tips also so I know how important it is, I really wanted to give her $5 but she was standing behind me and I didn't want to hurt her feelings. The woman at the desk seemed to be her boss and I didn't want to get her in trouble. Then they spoke to each other in a different language and the woman behind the counter showed me a sign that said if you get a hour massage you should tip $10 so they wanted me to tip the therapist $20. I was so embarrassed I gave her $5 more and left. It was the worst experience I've ever had for a massage and I get a lot of them. It's been 3 days since my massage and my spine is still in pain. Not my muscles but my bones are soar. Maybe they are better at leg massage but full body is not the thing to do. read more

We got two female masseuses for the 60 minute bodywork and I honestly don't believe they were ever properly trained in giving massages. The first 15 minutes consisted of spreading oil around and pressing firmly on the lower back making you hold your breath constantly. Then started the actual "massage" -- her elbowing my spine up and down and rubbing the C7 vertebrae behind my neck. Obviously all of this was very dangerous and painful. I tried to wait for it to get better but couldn't take any more damage to my body and begged her to please stop. I tried to explain it was not the level of pressure she was applying (I actually like it very strong) -- but that she was doing everything wrong. She immediately went to the front desk to accept our payment and I didn't find a manager to complain to on my way out. We paid for the full hour anyway but will not be back. read more

Went here for an impromptu massage and was pleasantly surprised with the massage. The masseuse was working on the knots in my shoulders and back and i came out of there feeling refreshed.
