I scheduled two facials and two massages for my Mom and me for our birthdays and our first treatments ever! The ambience was beautiful, cozy, and homey. We felt calm and relaxed just filling out the forms before the treatments even began! The place was clean and seemed very fitting to Covid times (masks, sheets, etc.). We both had a massage with Sherri which was incredible! She was respectful, curious to ask what exactly we wanted and how to make it the best experience for us. It is definitely worth going back just For her! 5/5!!! The customer service was also lovely - from helping to schedule over the phone to warmly welcoming us in! The receptionist Delilah truly cared to make us feel at home! Unfortunately, the facials disappointed both of us. While the esthetician was really nice, apart from a nice vibe and some moisturizer she really didn't do much - I can do more extractions on the surface level from my bathroom mirror. This was incredibly frustrating as we specifically asked her to focus on that for our treatments. It was also supposed to be an hour and turned out to be forty five minutes, most of which was just upper body massage - which was lovely- but again, not what we expected at all. The building itself was decently sound resistant, with little intrusive noise other than a distant siren being heard. The music was very soothing with a minty aromatherapy masking the room. -Staff: 5/5 The staff was courteous and polite. All of them spoke in either a low tone or a whisper, further reinforcing the quiet atmosphere. -Service: 5/5 The couples massage was wonderful leaving us both feeling like new people afterwards. The deep tissue work was minimally painful, although a little pain is conducive to getting the best results from this type of service. Despite this, the staff is very clear about determining what pressure will feel best for you. Neither of us knew how tense we were until the massage began and it all began to wash away. Came here with my mom and we both agreed we won't be back. It's in a weird, outdated attic with zero ambiance and just a sketchy vibe. It was not a spa atmosphere. My massage therapist talked a lot and was in and out of the room for some reason which was very disruptive to the experience, making it not relaxing. She was very nice so I was polite and replied when she talked but I really wished she would just let me relax and enjoy my massage without having to answer questions. The massage itself was just okay. My mom said she did love her massage and said she would absolutely see her massage therapist again if she were somewhere else, not this location. I am recovering from a knee replacement with a lot of recovery challenges. I was advised to go for the Manual Lymphatic Drainage massage which I had with Josh. I found him very professional, articulate as to the difference between a regular and lymphatic massage approach. I haven't felt this relaxed in months. I have been back 3 weeks and was actually able to increase my range of motion in my PT exercises which I am sure was due to the care I was receiving in my massages. I am so grateful and hooked. We started by filling out the typical questionnaire and I wrote specifics on the areas that bothered me the most. The two "masseuses" silently reviewed them carefully and exchanged the papers between them. At this point I'm thinking odd that they don't say a word or ask any questions but great, they must be figuring out who is best to work with, I like deep pressure my wife prefers medium etc. I expected them to ask a few questions afterward but they said nothing and we were just asked to follow them to the room. Once inside a list of instructions are rattled off in a very monotone way, where to hang your clothes, put your shoes etc and without a hint of personality. My wife and I laughed while changing that we might be in the military or a cult. Product * If you like Deep Tissue like I do then this is not for you. I asked her twice to go harder and she responded that she was doing the best she can. She didn't spend much time on the problem areas I put down on the questionnaire and instead spent an hour rubbing oil on me. I was going to just ask her to stop as it was becoming annoying but I kept thinking it has to get better! It never did. Value * $100 for oil to be poured on me, absolutely horrendous value! So sorrry to say it was the worst facial ever and complete rip-off. First, the facial was supposed to be 60 minutes but it was about 40 minutes. I couldn't believe how much time she shorted me! I was already in my car by the time I realized since I trusted that they would provide the service that they advertised (My appointment was for 430p but she didn't take me in until 4:40p ish and I was done by 5:15pm). It was a Saturday so I'm sure they all wanted to end their day, but completely wrong to do to a customer. Also was told to remove my socks because she was doing a hand and foot massage (she did the hand massage but not foot)... no big deal. However, the facial itself was not good. There was absolutely no pressure at all extremely light it felt like she was barely touching my face. I honestly do what she does at home everyday. The extraction was maybe 1min if that. It just felt very amateur and I do feel bad because she was extremely nice. Also, when booking the man noted it was going to be $100 but on the website it says $70 for introduction rate. When checking out I noted the price of the introduction rate and ask if that would be the price for me since I was a first time customer. She said "ugh I guess, sure. Did you looked at the website?" She was completely going to charge me full price and answered me with a little tone as if I was trying to bargain with her. Don't have it listed on your website and try to trick people. She did charge me the lower price with no problem though. I just thought her response was quite odd. The one star is for the calming atmosphere. It was actually very relaxing. That's the only positive I received from this place. Overall, save your money and go elsewhere. Place has very calm and pleasant atmosphere. I requested the owner, Jamie. She was very friendly, professional in adressing the issues. I 've been having hip and leg discomfort for a while so that was my main concern. It was very soothing and actually helped. She worked on my neck and shoulders where my most of tension are. It was a bit painful but she comnunicated with me well so I was pretty comfortable even though she went pretty deep. 60 minutes session somehow felt pretty long and satisfying and she covered many of my stobbern knots. I am a NY licensed massage therapist and have my office in Rockland. I would work with her if we live a little closer! read more

Came here with a Groupon deal for 1-hr massage. I'm 24 weeks pregnant with twins and thought I would give a prenatal massage a try due to horrible back, neck, shoulder pains. Their online booking system is really easy to use and have many dates/times available for you to choose from. I had Megan as my masseuse and she was a delight. Very welcoming, warm, and professional. I had asked for a medium pressure massage and I got just that. It was perfect. She covered my entire body, but she put in a little more strength to my weak points which was much needed and felt extremely good. I came out of the massage as a mush; my body felt extremely relaxed. My usual masseuse was booked and I was having back pain, so I decided to try Harmony Within. Massage was very good. My only suggestion would be for the masseuse to tie their hair back, so it doesn't repeatedly brush the face/body of the customer during massage. And while I completed their online questionnaire and indicated that I'd enjoy some aromatherapy in my session, I was offered none. I took a star off for ambience and cleanliness. It's an upstairs flat in a multi family home. Decor is outdated and drab. There was an odor, but it didn't seem aromatherapy-related. Not a particularly welcoming environment. Multiple signs telling me what to do/not to do: ( 'Only whisper when talking', 'be quiet', the sign in the bathroom (with a dirty floor) stating 'Sprinkles are for cupcakes, not toilets', and the sign at the receptionist's desk telling me exactly how much I should tip). The massage room had various cleaning supplies scattered about, the linens were worn and scratchy. The massage table was not as comfortable as others I've been on, no shelf (for your hands) under the headrest, and bolster was too small to be supportive. The location is convenient for me, and parking in the street was easy and free. With a good cleaning and tidying up, some attention to details and a few simple, inexpensive updates, this place could really stand out. A decent back up for my usual masseuse, but improvements would be welcomed. read more

I absolutely love this place. I found the atmosphere and ambience totally welcoming and respectful. Friendly staff and everyone was a total professional. My therapist, Kathy, was simply phenomenal. The pressure was just right for me, as I do not like deep tissue. My doctor has often recommended massage therapy as an aid in circulation management. I wanted a relaxing therapeutic massage and that's exactly what I received. It was so comforting I actually nodded off once or twice. I'll also note that I have an advanced case of diabetic neuropathy in my feet, which makes them both numb and hypersensitive simultaneously. I hate having my feet touched. But it is an important part of treating circulation issues so I hesitantly agreed. Again, Kathy was simply amazing. She was able to properly massage my feet without causing me any distress. Overall * Absolutely the best massage I have ever had in my life! If you have realistic expectations you will love Harmony Within. I found this place thru Groupon, but I called to see if they would honor the price without purchasing the voucher, and they said they would gladly match the price you find if it is lower than their standard first time customer rate. This works out better for small businesses, and they really appreciate you not buying the additional voucher online. They were able to accommodate the price of $54 for a deep tissue massage being that I was a first time customer. I came here to get some relief of low back pain, which I did. Also realized I had way more tension than I thought in my neck and upper back, and Katherine was able to provide me with some relaxation and relief. Although their place is small, I enjoyed this atmosphere in contrast to the larger spas, as I felt like I was cared for more. It's also more relaxing than having to wait in a crowded spa. I was told by Paul that they would honor the Groupon price for a facial ($52.50) without purchasing the Groupon. I chose the peppermint scalp massage as my add on. The facial was ok. Nothing special. It lasted 30 minutes and was followed by mini massages of my hands, feet, and shoulders. Also ok. Nothing special. My esthetician forgot my "add on" and began wrapping things up, so I had to ask about it, which was awkward. She agreed to do it, but I received a fairly uninspired scalp massage. After I settled my bill, Paul reminded me that the Groupon rate was for first time customers only, but if I booked another facial the same day, he could give me a price of $85, $15 off the regular price of $100. The facial I received was not a $100 or $85 service, nor is the spa inviting enough to justify higher prices. I wasn't even offered water, and the wrap I was given to wear looked a tad worn.
