My wife and I discovered this spa from a Groupon Coupon. The spa itself is not glamorous but the masseuses are extremely good. I recently had Dodo, who I will call the Body Whisperer. She was able to locate every area of my body that was problematic and there were alot. She got the area in my shoulder, my hip and my hamstring. She found the pain points and worked on them hard. It was like having accupuncture on steroids. I could not believe how intuitive she was in isolating the trouble spots. My shoulder was so problematic, I was thinking I may need surgery. One day later it was significantly better. I would say she is as good as a Physical Therapist, if not better. No other location can compare to the quality of massages at New Spa 7. This spa provides the absolute best massages, and I am willing to drive out of my way to come here. It's always very quiet, clean, and comfortable within the space, exactly what you need when trying to relax. The only issue that has occurred every time I've gone is that they rely on a notebook to keep track of appointments, which doesn't really work well in 2022. There's usually some overlap with the massage times, and it can be inconvenient when you're trying to follow a schedule. I have been going through a lot of life changes and it hasn't been easy . I started working out everyday not only for my body but for my stress. Due to this I've been having a lot of aches and pains. Being on disability comes with a tight budget so I thought why not check out Groupon for a massage deal and found this place. The girl on the phone was very pleasant and set me up for the same day appointment. Now, I won't lie, I Was not sure what to expect when I saw that it was an industrial building. I got a little bit of creeped out at first going up the steps but I was like what the heck if I walk in and I'm on comfortable I can always leave. I walked in and it's a very no-frills place if you're looking for all the bells and whistle's this is definitely not for you but if you're someone suffering from aches and pains or just need a break from reality this is definitely the spot to go. The young lady that did my massage was wonderful. She was an expert in her craft that is for sure. Her hands worked magic. She got every single knot out . The downside to a place like this is you can hear everything going on around you the walls are paper thin so I had to hear a couple talking during the end of their massage and I had to listen to a woman giving instructions on how she wanted her feet rubbed. Also? A worker came In and began to have a chat with my masseuse in the middle of my massage. This really bothered me because for some reason massages are always a very emotional experience for me and usually I always go into a deep state and I begin to cry. So I was a little annoyed that my concentration was broken as I was meditating during the massage and focusing on an intention that I have. With all that being said I found out that the full hours normally 45 which isn't that much more than the $39 Groupon price I paid I'm gonna be going back to work in two weeks so I set up an appointment for next week just to try to get me in the right headspace again. This is one step above the massage you get from your husband. I'd be surprised if they are licensed because they don't appear to have any training at all. They literally just rub your body, they don't follow the muscles or seem to know even where they are. When you first go in you wonder if you are at an above board place. There are just thin curtains as doors so you hear everything. The phone ringing, they could be vacuuming, employees talking, and when other clients come in being loud there's no attempt to ask them to stay quiet. So it's not very relaxing. I gave them a three is because it's $50. $54 if you use a credit card. And they do use hot stones so that's nice. It beats spending $150 for a massage but you do get what you pay for. read more

I was here a week and a half ago and it was the worst massage I have had in 73 years! The masseuse neither understood nor spoke English, which made it impossible to communicate to him about my 3 artificial joints so that he wouldn't pummel them. His name was Jason and he was very, very rough in his treatment of me. He set my most recent knee replacement recovery back several weeks; it had been pain free when I went there but after he basically punched it, it has been in bad pain since I went there. Ok, so I am torn. I had a really nice massage where the masseuse leaned in with elbows and worked out knots. However... as this was a couples massage, my girlfriend had a less then great experience as her masseuse was too gentle and spent more time on her feet than the body massage. That said, some additional context...the place in all honesty is a bit dumpy with patched sheet rock and an odd smell and was just not very conducive to a relaxing experience. In addition and more disappointing, they changed $10 for a credit card to be processed and then got in my face asking for additional tipping. Not cool. I feel like I was murdered yesterday. I'm on ibuprofen and using a heating pad because my shoulders/upper back and lower back are in a lot of pain. I've been getting massages for decades. Swedish , deep tissue etc and I've never felt like this after. Also not a fan of the $5 up charge to use my credit card. My masseuse was nice but I stopped counting at 30 (# of times he sniffled during massage) The place is basic. Ok, so first thing's first: do not, I repeat, DO NOT get a deep tissue massage if you never had one before, do not know what it entails or you want a relaxing massage. DTM can be uncomfortable to downright painful. Get a Swedish massage if this is your first time or if you want a relaxing massage! If you get DTM and this is your first time without knowing what to expect, you will be dissatisfied, then attempt to blame it on the masseuse for being too rough. A cursory Google search with tell you all you need to know about a deep tissue massage. I highly, HIGHLY suggest research before asking for it, especially if your pain tolerance is low to nil. Secondly, this place is very basic. Don't let the fact that it's in Franklin Lakes fool you. It's not fancy. Do not expect a bunch of bells and whistles or the latest and greatest. If you're into that sort of thing, choose another place. If you expect to have a sit-down assessment of your problems, choose another place. What you're paying is on par with the experience. If you can remember that and keep your expectations in line, you'll be just fine, trust me. read more

I was in desperate need of a massage as my shoulders and upper back hold all my tension. Off to Groupon I went. Stumbled upon new spa 7. They got me in that day. I see many reviewers saying this place is "no frills" I guess it's all up to interpretation. I felt it was clean, they had the typical "spa" music playing and dim lights. While I did use Groupon, as another reviewer stated wasn't much less than their regular price. (You can even buy a package that equals $40 each when you buy 6) mine was a full 60minutes and I chose the Swedish. In comparison Fountain spa has the nice locker room with shower (and the tranquility room) it's $123 for 50 minutes. I didn't catch the name of my masseuse but I thought she was amazing. Effectively checked in with me regarding pressure and comfort. Did my whole body but I feel she definitely spent a little extra on my shoulders and trapezius (as I told her that was currently my big problem area) I would happily recommend and definitely going back. read more

A very, very fast response time is probably my favorite thing about this place. I called asking for an appointment and they were able to accommodate me within the hour. When I went in, I was greeted by a woman who took me to a quiet, calming, and dim-lit room with a massage table in the center. The massage itself was very pleasant. Though I expected the massage to only be for my back, it ended up being a full body massage, working my thighs, quads, and chest. My only complaint is that the masseuse could have gone harder as I was expecting a deep tissue massage. Nonetheless I will be visiting once more and making sure I ask for a more deep tissue massage.
