Very unprofessional & I do not recommend. I went in there for a 30min massage. Although I told the therapist to focus on my neck and shoulders, he did not. He proceeded to massage my entire body and I was uncomfortable. I paid for my service. I did not have cash and did not want to tip on my card. After leaving, my "massage therapist" followed me outside and screamed at me saying "WHERE IS TIP? YOU SUPPOSE TO TIP!!! DONT COME BACK HERE IF YOU DONT TIP" .. Seriously the best place for massages. Personally, I don't even like foot massages. I even hate pedicures lol. Once I saw that they do full body massages too I wanted to try it out. So I called for an appointment for two and they were able to accommodate us right away. Upon arrival, they took our temperatures and we just waited a few minutes before they were ready. Now, full disclosure. This place is not massage envy, it's not private or even fancy really. It's a no frills, fantastic massage. You get your own rooms but you can definitely still hear the hustle and bustle of what's going on. Overall though, for the fantastic massage that they provide - I'll take it. My boyfriend is a pretty big guy with a terrible back and though he was in pain most of the time, the woman did a great job on him. I personally can't wait to go back. I have terrible knots in my back and before I even said anything her hands went straight to them. They definitely know what they're doing and are incredibly skilled. First time here and decided on a whim to give them a shot although I just had a massage the day prior elsewhere. My feet still felt like they needed some attention so I called an hour before time for a 2pm appt which they gladly accepted. Upon arriving, there wasn't anyone upfront so I waited for about 5 minutes before someone showed up. No biggie though because it gave me a chance to look around. I was brought into a room with multiple leather like reclining chairs with soothing music playing in the background. It was dim which further enhanced your spa like experience. My masseuse, Lucy, brought out a basin of water and had me soak my feet while she massaged my whole back, neck, shoulders, arms, and scalp. At first, I thought maybe I requested the wrong package as I was just expecting them to concentrate on my feet, but after she was done and had me recline back with a fuzzy blanket covering me, I felt at total peace and ready for my foot massage. Lucy knew exactly where to massage and apply pressure throughout my whole experience. She did not try to upsell me anything and only checked in intermittently if the pressure was ok. I am super pleased with her skills! My only caveat and reason for 4 stars is that next to me was a gentleman who was being pressured constantly to upgrade to different lotion and then half body massage which he repeatedly stated he just wanted his feet done although he eventually gave in. I'm certainly happy I was not treated that way, but I don't think I would have been polite as him if I was constantly being asked why I did not want to add on a massage. You already practically get a full body massage with reflexology package A! Although you certainly don't have your feet worked on for 60mins, you certainly are massaged for the full time. The masseuse used her knuckles, her elbow, even her feet to work out all his knots. He walked out in an amazing mood! My masseuse spent a lot of time on my shoulders, neck, and bum, targeting all my tense areas. A mixture of a deep tissue massage, oil massage, and hot stone massage, it was truly worth it. I have been looking for a place to get a foot massage for months. I found this on yelp and the reviews did not convince me. A friend went and recommended it and so I booked 2 foot massage appointments. I had been looking forward to this foot massage for days but was extremely disappointed. The foot massage was nothing different then the massage received during a pedicure. The therapists also strolled in when they were ready and they had full conversations while in the middle of our foot massage despite the "QUIET PLEASE" signs. That definitely ruined the experience. Another concern is the signs that state $10 is the minimum tip for a 1 hour massage. At minimum have a sign with recommended tips but don't mandate a minimum. Finally, when it was time to pay my therapist stood next to me waiting for his tip. If you are okay with mediocre then I recommend this place if not please don't waste your time or money. read more

Wow, I am so happy Royal Foot Spa opened here in Rutherford! I've been here twice now, 1st time a few months back for a couples massage with my wife, then more recently by myself when I was feeling extremely stressed out and had knots up and down my back that needed instant gratification! For the location, just nice and clean. When you first walk in, the foot massage area is off to the left, a public area and shared. A hallway from there leads to the back where there is rooms for couples or single privacy rooms via curtains, but from what I have seen, no more than two beds to a room. Also, something I am going to have to try on my next visit, they have a room in the back with the bars along the ceiling that allow for the masseuse to walk on your back. Highly advised if you haven't tried this before. For the actual massage, on my last visit my masseuse was Josephine (who also happens to be the owner). What a great massage! She listened to everything I said and followed my instructions, but always checked to make sure I was feeling okay. I like a really strong massage and she was able to provide. Towards the end, she used hot stones to finish and I walked out feeling knot free after a very hard week at work. Pricing was not bad at all I have to say, definitely worth it in my book. Just went to Royal Foot Spa on a whim for a foot massage. I was asked if I wanted a pedicure too. I was going to get one afterwards anyway, so this was very convenient. A young man, who spoke did my pedicure. I was impressed that he spoke perfect English and Mandarin. I'm Chinese, and I can't. He was very attentive, fixing a nail issue, consulting with the owner about it, and checking in. He must have spent an hour with me. Then while my nails were drying, the masseuse worked on my upper body for 20 minutes. Then I reclined under a blanket while he worked on my lower legs. I know I'm relaxed when I fall asleep. It was wonderful. I walked out of there rejuvenated, after a total of 2+ hours. Times are tough, so the suggested tip did not bother me at all. The low prices should not also mean low gratuity because they work just as hard as a higher charging establishment. It's a local business with hard working people, so I tipped even more because I can. And it was greatly appreciated. It was just a little awkward when they were nearby as I paid. A better way, if Josephine is reading this, would be for the front person to say something like "You can leave a gratuity for ... and ... in this envelope. We suggest $ ..." and it can be left for them there and I can give it to them. But that's western spa culture so it's fine. If you want to relax, this is a great local self-care treat on a regular basis - once a month after work or on a weekend. Nothing fancy and yes you will hear noises in the background. If that bothers you, bring earphones. No one pressured me to buy anything, although I will consider the 10-pack in the future. Will definitely be back! read more

I went in because for the past few weeks I have been having some pretty bad left shoulder pain, probably from swimming and the way I sleep. Anyway he worked on it, blinding pain but that's what I want, along with other ligaments like the forearm that attach to the shoulder, blinding pain again, lol, it is sore right now but I already feel a huge difference when I lift my arm up. This is my second time going here, the first time was almost a year ago for only a 1hr massage, which was very good. Tonight I was in the mood for a massage but realized it was late and no places would prob take me. I called RFS at 730pm and was scheduled for 9pm for a 30min reflexology and 30min body massage. I started the 30min reflexology shortly after arriving and it was great. Lucy had asked if I'd like a 1hr massage instead of 30min, and I accepted. I felt bad that it was getting late but who can pass up a longer massage?! Marc gave me a 1hr massage after the reflexology. It was probably the best massage Ive had in a very long time. I prefer stronger massages with more pressure and this hit the spot- literally. I've had massages before where some focus only on the back, or tickle, or leave me achy, and this was not the case. I'm not sure if the woman in charge, Josephine, reads these but if so you need to speak to your employees about what is and isn't appropriate. Pausing in the middle of the massage to quietly whisper to me that I need to "tip more today because it's been slow" is in the camp of 'not appropriate.' I already tip close to 30% given the massages are a good priced value...I don't appreciate being told mid massage to make sure its either 35% or 40% today to supplement that the day was slow. It's awkward, ruins the relaxation I am trying to achieve by getting a massage and given the timing makes it seem an answer in the negative might effect the remainder of my session. They give an excellent body massage for $50. The spa is definitely no frills (needs new paint, carpet is a little dirty, etc.) They would get 5 stars for service and the massage. Upon leaving they demand $15 tip on a $50 service. Are you INSANE?!?!? You are demanding a 30% tip?!?!? That is absolutely no way to do business. First, you cannot demand a tip. If you want to get people to pay more then raise your prices. Second, expecting anyone to pay 30% minimum for a tip is ridiculous! When I tried to explain 15-20% is the normal and if people received excellent service they can choose to tip more: I was told they work very hard and feel they deserve 30%. You cannot demand a tip! I took my mom here with me as she is going through battling cancer and she told me for that whole one hour she "didn't feel like a cancer patient" she didn't feel her pain of anything!! You cheap broke Jokes need to screw off :) They charge DIRT cheap for their massages. Give them a damn 20% tip if they ask for it. I hAve gotten massages in Paris, Italy , LA, NYC at some of the finest places around and this place exceeds them all. Josephine is hands down the most talented therapist I have come across. If you people can't afford a 20% tip, don't come in for a massage. The prices are SUPER CHEAP so yeah , they expect a decent tip. I can't stand cheap people. Do you know how hard the massage therapist works her/his body to touch you for an hour without coughing, sneezing, eating , or going to the bathroom? Have some respect. Their business is the BEST.
