I would be doing the entire community at the service if I tried to keep this amazing facility. Lisa is a magician. What she is able to do on that table is incredible. I came in with constant pain, my back was so tight, and just everything felt tense all the time... After an hour and a half with her, everything was released and pain is gone. I can't wait to continue to come to her every other week and keep my body aligned. What she did was incredible. We even took before, and after pictures of my unevenness, and after she released, I could just feel like physical weight was taken off my body in those areas. Needed a deep tissue massage and decided to peruse Groupon and discovered Project Body. I was able to schedule the massage the same day I purchased the Groupon and doing so via their website was easy. There's a pretty detailed registration form you need to fill out for the appointment but he good news is that the masseuse literally has read it in it's entirety to ensure they provide the service you need (such as areas to focus on; areas not to touch etc). My masseuse Mindy was AMAZING! Everything from the questions she asked, to the pressure she used, checking in that I was okay and her level of professionalism! Oh and she even gave me exercises / stretches to try at home to loosen up the areas that were tight. Mindy is the bomb! The only reason the review isn't 5 stars has nothing to do with the massage but rather the facility itself. They've done their best to transform the space without major construction and the space is used for more than just massages so it is not as peaceful, serene and chic as other massage establishments. The only business I've ever thought deserves not six, but SEVEN+ stars! This is a fairly in-depth review, but my time was so good that I believe it's warranted. I rarely feel this strongly to share my opinion and I can tell you Project Body have knocked it out of the park and deserve it. My impressions and experience were as follows. I was lucky enough to work with both Lisa, the owner, and Audrey, the excellent physical therapist. I found out about Project Body after reading a glowing review of theirs on Reddit, which sparked me to make an appointment immediately after. The phone etiquette of their manager was friendly and professional, so I had a good feeling right off the bat. I was texted a brief but detailed questionnaire that gave me the opportunity to disclose what my difficulties and goals were, how much pressure I was comfortable with, and what music I prefer; I found it convenient, innovative, and it cut out the stultifying time one would usually spend with a clipboard in a waiting room. Care and consideration are strong themes with Project Body. Upon arrival I felt confident and welcomed because of the clean, stylish, and well decorated storefront, and of course the professional and warm manager who greeted me. I was offered the bathroom yet otherwise shown directly to the cozy and perfectly lit room for my stretch (I booked a 30 minute stretch before my massage). Audrey was personable and a great conversationalist, as well as knowledgeable, passionate, and very strong. I had chosen 30 minutes because of a time constraint, but I could have EASILY gone for twice, if not quadruple that time. She asked me what areas I would like to work on in the time frame, and began with some percussion, and then focused on a total body stretch, but with special focus to the areas that I'd mentioned. Getting my legs, hips, and spine stretched were out. of. this. world. Afterward, I felt pleasantly disoriented, as if I had to get used to a new, and much more comfortable and functional, body. It was more amazing that I could have hoped, and I am a man who finds a good stretch a better feeling than almost anything. Next, I was lucky enough to get a 50 minute massage from Lisa, the owner, who is usually across the country. Again, I was attentively listened to after being asked what areas I'd like to focus on, and felt warmth, comfort, and ease. Lisa was more down-to-earth than any owner I'd met, and I felt I was working together with someone highly skilled and determined. She took genuine interest in helping me, and her effort was palpable and extremely effective. The massage was unquestionably the best I'd ever received. My experience wasn't one where I felt like I was about to fall asleep, but because of my request, I felt like someone was thinking with their hands through the problems of my muscles. This was not some routine job to be gotten over with for her, that was clear. My muscles weren't treated like it needed to be annihilated either, despite my request for maximum pressure. It was totally obvious that a professional was working to improve and fix me, versus any other experience I've had where the motions are run through, you feel good, and learn nothing. She told me about where I was tight (everywhere. literally.) and even what areas she found unusual and in need of extra attention. On top of it all, she treated both me and Audrey with ZERO pretension or haughtiness. If I wasn't told she was the owner I would have never known. And just as great, I didn't feel pressured into buying anything or getting upsold. The result was that I felt ease and physical relaxation that I truly have not had in years, if not half a decade. I have equal mobility in my side bending and moving my arms overhead, that I may not have EVER had before. I noticed too that my shoulders felt like they were floating as I walked to my car, and the bodily relaxation truly felt alien. I decided on the spot to go for their monthly package. I know that I am in good hands and have found help that I simply have not been able to find elsewhere, or that I could give myself: I'm a dude who's garnered a reputation at work for stretching compulsively throughout my shift. And I've been to 3 physical therapists, an osteopath, and 2 chiropractors. Lastly, their subscription is refreshingly generous and fair, no contract, no sneaky capitalistic B.S. loopholes to screw you into paying extra and getting nothing more. You get discounted service, a monthly massage, massages that roll over if you don't use them OR you could gift them to a friend. If I listed the benefits then I might as well copy-and-paste from their site because with their point system it's as if they really want you to...happily use their services. It's literally rewarding, instead of some sort of system devised to make occasional customers feel like outsiders or too broke to get the best treatment. I'm a cancer patient who experiences a great deal of pain from a specific medication, and she literally made me feel better than anything I've used or done before. Atmosphere: Pretty cool and cozy. Small quirk I found a bit uneasy. There's a dog in the place (her names Luna and she's beautiful) which I loved. I didn't love that she jumped on an already made bed in one of the rooms and just laid down... said "unsanitary" to me. I'm a pet mom myself, and Luna is stunning and super friendly and lovey. I love that they have her there, but there should be restrictions on the dog being on the beds people are going to be massaged on. I hope they changed the sheets... Shes a stunning dog but I'm not even a clean freak and it was a little strange to see. Probably a good idea to keep the dog off the beds. Massage Itself: Honestly I really liked my massage. The girl who treated me was super friendly. The only issue I had was that it was a little strange her trying to have a steady stream of conversation with me. I'm not sure if this is specific to me but I found it sort of uncomfortable; someone trying to talk with me while rubbing me... Things like "did your tattoo hurt" once my leg was pulled out from under the sheets. Again, she did a really great job on the massage part but way too much talking. I'm super outgoing and friendly but it's the wrong atmosphere. Not relaxing at all, you start putting a face to the person rubbing you... IDK maybe it's me but a little weird and uncomfortable. I am also not a confrontational person so I certainly wasn't going to say anything and I was going to keep the friendly vibe. It might be part of the progressive nature of this place...Or that I'm not savvy at getting massages to begin with but the one's I've had did not speak to me during it. Speak to me before to say hello and areas to work on, of course. The mid rubbing conversation, to the point where I was opening my eyes to speak were her because I didn't know what to do at that point...yikes... but whatever, you get my point, I'm not for it. Now, with that said, I think it's specific to the one girl massaging me. I mean, again, she was great. My husband's girl apparently did not behave the same. Transaction: We unfortunately had a weird mix up with our appointment. My husband had to show text confirmation that we had an appointment and the girl did a great job at the desk to get us in regardless of the computer. I'm not a big fan of writing reviews but I had to. Just wanted everyone to be mindful of your membership points. I joined and became a member about a year ago and rarely used it so the unused points rolls over. However, when you start sharing your unused points and cancel/reschedule appointments way in advance, their system loses track of them and you wind up losing them probably because they don't credit back to your account. I trusted them so I never really tracked it. At one point, I transferred points to my husband but yet he ended up paying for his treatment. Make sure you keep track of your points when you do cancel and/or reschedule appointments. Another time, I came in for my 2:30 and they said that my appointment was for 2 when it was confirmed via text for 2:30. As a result, the masseuse left. Not even a courtesy call to remind me that I have an appointment. The appointment was for 1 hour and 40 minutes. The owner/staff(?) ended up giving me an extra 50 minutes to my account. She did not even apologize and she even asked me to show her the text, lol. I rescheduled and when I went back, the person who was at the front desk checked my account and no records/notes written in the system regarding the issue. And there, I lost the 50 minutes that she promised. Right there and then, I canceled my membership and scheduled appointments for the remainder points that was left in my account. Today, my husband and I came in for our last appointments. Guess what? They (Christian and the owner) asked me to pay again. I was so livid, I just wanted to get out of there. I basically donated $ and will never go back. I only go there because of Ashley, my masseuse, she's good at what she does. Thumbs up! The owner and the people that work at the front desk, I question their integrity. I guess they need more training for all administrative work including rescheduling. To make sure the clients are not being charged 2x. It's rescheduling and not a brand new appointment which it seems that your charging my account again. Just finished a 50 minute massage with Ashley. If you were looking for a place of pure relaxation I wouldn't say this is 100% the place. Even though it is very very relaxing it doesn't have the spa feel i.e. the warm heated beds very dim lighting. However, if you are in need for a very deep back pain relief massage this place can't be beat. When I walked into the room my masseuse Ashley had asked me what brought me in today and when I told her that I was suffering from back and neck pain she didn't hesitate to offer dedicated time to those target areas I truly enjoyed the massage however like I said previously it is not a super relaxing massage but that is because she was working her magic on my muscles so at times it was quite painful but in that good kind of painful! So the massage started around 2:10. But it finished around 2:45. So. approximately I got 35mins massage instead of 50 mins massage.I felt like I got ripped off.
