The food is still good but im done with this restaurant. They now apparently dont send rice with their dishes. The portion size was cut in half. They charge an additional $5 for ordering on an app but send it in a cheap grocery bag. The pieces of pork in this dish are the size of rice. So sad .... I understand inflation .... Just be honest and fair and provide decent service. Id be happy to pay more for that. read more

I am not an adventurous eater when it comes to Chinese so I skipped the aorta and tendon dishes and stuck to dishes that I recognized. Very large menu but only dish names and no descriptions....makes it hard to decide what to order. We tried the Dan Dan noodles....very good. They're lomein noodles in chili oil with a little ground pork...very tasty. I ordered the double pepper chicken...large portion for $10. Good taste but noting special. Is this the first restaurant in the Lehigh Valley that serves Dan Dan Noodles? I want them every day of my life. I liked the place so much I went back again the next day. Tried a ton of dishes, and loved most of them. I'm not well versed in Szechuan food but I did expect it to be spicier. Maybe I can ask them to lay it on next time. The restaurant was filled with Chinese folks which in my book was a big plus. The lady who hangs around the front was SUPER nice while the young guy sever leaves a lot to be desired. One of my favorite Chinese restraints in the area. What I enjoy about this place is the authenticity in the dishes. They are one of the few places that do not carter much to the "American Chinese" food dishes. The second time, I checked it while I was there and it was wrong. So they "fixed" it, I took it away with me back to work, and when I got there realized they had messed up something ELSE. Szechuan dumplings in chili oil were excellent. Pork buns were also excellent. We ordered several entrees and split amongst the family. General Tso Chicken, lo mein, double cooked pork....all very good and fresh. That being said, I could definitely just order a variety of dumplings and be a happy man. So disappointing. The reviews really built up my expectations. Why did everyone else get real menus and we got paper? Why did two tables who ordered their food after us get their food before us when we ordered simple entrees? Why did we not get hot tea when we sat down like everyone else? I hope this was a one off but it's a Saturday night and you'd think with only 3-4 other tables full they'd be on their game. Every dish with the exception of the pan fried dumplings lacked flavor. Today, we visited Steelstacks and luckily came upon this authentic restaurant. We ordered the fried dumpling, salted scallops, spicy intestines, house lomein, and sour and spicy jellyfish. Every dish was delicious! Prices are reasonable. Excellent customer service (although I never care about that when I go out to eat unless it's a 5 star restaurant). In next 10 minutes, the waitress passed us twice and did not even say hello.We decided to leave. Hard to believe but this is a truly authentic Szechuan (Sichuan) restaurant. The menu contains real Szechuan dishes. One dish, Doupan whole fish, not only taste correctly but also fresh. We will definitely go back and try other dishes. read more

For true Chinese cuisine aficionados! A beautiful new space - very modern and impeccably clean with high ceilings and calligraphy art. Prices are quite reasonable. We just went with the chef's recommendations. Rolled pork belly with scallions to start. Light and refreshing. Dry cooked beef in a metal pot with "mala" spices, flaky and tender whole fish, and a satisfying chive dish. All were incredibly fresh and made with quality ingredients. If you are anywhere within a two hour radius in any direction, you can't go wrong with this restaurant. We lived in NYC for 16 years and rarely tasted such wonderful food. read more

Tried this place twice. Things were okay first time. The second time tho, the fried rice (which was okay first time) stink so badly - you know when the days-old-rice in rice cooker stink. Their DanDan noodles and wontons in red chili oil are some of the best I've had. There were three people in our party, including one person who is Chinese and who really knows Chinese cuisine well. He was impressed by the menu so we decided to give ShangWei a go. Full disclosure: two of us are vegan and one is a vegetarian. As we were led to our table we noticed that all of the patrons in the restaurant were Asian, generally an auspicious sign. And as it turned out we were very pleased with our meal. All the dishes were well spiced and the ingredients fresh.
