This place is only worth it if you're doing the all you can eat sushi buffet. We went on a Sunday and the sushi tasted fresh, the appetizers were good, and the service was fine. I'm giving them 4 stars instead of 5 because the waitress spoke zero english and couldn't answer basic questions about the food. Not bad for a sushi place located in the Bronx. Will go back for sure! read more

Food here is amazing! point blank. The selection for sushi is immaculate, from raw to fried, everything taste fresh. Coming from someone to try many different asian cuisines, even a quick lunch break will be phenomenal here. Ive had french fries (lol) no joke, its the real deal here. that was just a quick pick up. ive tried many many rolls from here (pics below), sad to say those are the only pics i have on this phone. They have an all you can eat menu for 20 dollars per, with a wide selection of choices. EVERYTHING IS GOOD, they have bubble tea and fried ice cream as well. Im going today in about 2 hours, im just excited, but will take more pics! P.S they have ramen now as well :P read more

I have gone here a number of times since I live in the neighborhood. I have seen lots of servers come and go and service go from "great" to "why do I insist on coming back?". Yesterday, I stopped in for a quick bite with my brother who was in from out of town. We got in and were seated quickly. They have a new young girl working there who was really nice. She took our order (correctly) and food was brought out fairly fast. I order gyoza and the Rainbow Roll. My brother ordered an eggroll and the volcano roll. Food was good and tasted fresh which is so important when having sushi. When we asked for the check, it was brought right out and the nice part was she never assumed she would receive a tip. She was paid in cash and said she would be right back. Never asked if we expected change back or how much we wanted back. It's the little things that make me happy :) read more

This is my second time here and it was not any more pleasant than my first time. The male waiters are awesome super friendly however like EVERY OTHER REVIEW i have to agree that the Asian lady with the short hair and glasses is extremely rude and essentially she hates her job. WARNING: to future patrons, you can only have one option at the table. You cannot mix the regular menu and the all you can eat menu Secondly, they reprimand you for wasting food. It is $16 a pound. The sushi tasted pretty good and if i come back that's all I'll come back for. However the other dishes were pre-packaged items that were heated up and bought to the table. Some of the dishes were unbearable to eat because it lacked flavor or had too much sugar. If you come here for the AYCE sushi go for it. But save yourself from disappointment when ordering other items. You'd be better off ordering from the Chinese food store a few blocks away. It was $85 plus tip for 3 people. I think it's well worth it for the AYCE sushi. But not the other meal items on the menu. So if you go make sure you get your sushi on read more

10/10! My favorite place in the BX for the best asian food and they have a big variety.

This used to be me and my ladies hangout spot for 5 years ago. There sushi buffet was unmatched with other things like crystal shrimp, tuna tar tar, and a host of other great side dishes. Sometimes they used to be understaffed but overall it wasn't bad. Best bang for the buck and one of my personal favorites. read more

Besides my last trip here, all of my experiences have been decent. Didnt appreciate having to ask for dessert 3 times and waiting so long for the bill. You would expect a place that has a 90min time limit to be a bit more on point. Sushi is good, the "all you can eat" menu is even better. Haven't experienced anything outside of sushi, so 3 star is my final answer...for now... #Tip 1: a small sake is exactly that, small. Not ideal for sharing... #Tip 2: if you find yourself waiting too long for the bill, just go to the front counter and pay... read more

First time at Shangerlia. My main server was John and he was very knowledgeable and friendly. The place was clean and had an "A" rating to start. Came here for sushi. Food ordered: Black pearl - this sushi combo was thier best one. Dragon rolls - was ok. Salmon treasure - not my favorite dish. Salmon was over cooked in roll Sunflower - was really good Milky buns - was amazing. Reminded me of like Elephant ears or funnel cake Rock shrimp - again really good. The spicy mayo/aoili was really good on top. To drink I had 3 flavors of bubble tea. thai tea - it was ok, i particularly like mines from other places. Where you taste the frew brew tea and see the mix. Coconut - this was there best bubble tea Taro - it wasnt bad. It was in the middle. Won't be the first place to go to when I'm craving Sushi. read more

Overall, we had a great experience. The sushi, sushi rolls, and sashimi were surprisingly good. The bubble tea was basically syrup, I would not recommend trying their bubble tea. The Tuna Tartare and Salmon Tartare was terrible, did not tasted like tuna or salmon. The all you can eat is a great option for the price. read more

Shangeri-La Restaurant - All you can eat. - Asian Fusion Near Me - Bronx, New York

Totally a 4.5 on the flav-o-meter. Came on a Friday with no wait. Had spring rolls, roti canai (curry and thin pancake like bread), and soft shell crab. All excellent! Fresh and seasoned well. Roti are a little oily. Had Thai basil fried rice and Korean short ribs, both were scrumptious! Ribs were a little fatty, but what do you expect for $15? Definitely worth the trip, I'll be back soon! read more

This is literally my favorite sushi spot in NYC! They have AYCE witch is even better! And the food there is delicious! All my experiences were great so I don't really have much to complain about. Would definitely recommend! read more

Came here for the first time tonight. Sushi for my boyfriend and I got the chicken Lo Mein, wonton soup and chicken teriyaki. All was delicious. Sushi looked really fresh. Service was good. I ordered food from here once before and It wasn't too bad so I tried it again. The ramen had no flavor and wasn't worth the money paid. The garlic wings were good but, that's about it. My order was for delivery and took 2 hours to arrive. The only good part was that the food was hot when I received it. read more

This is my go to when I need sushi in the area. Especially because it's unlimited for $25! The all you can eat menu is basically the same as the regular menu, but you get smaller portion sizes so you can eat everything you order and minimize wasting food. I had the edamame, french fries, California rolls, sunflower rolls (not my favorite), salmon rolls, mango rolls, and pineapple tea with bubbles to wash everything down. Well worth it, as always. read more

Food was good but no house made hot mustard or fortune cookies. Delivery was a nightmare and said won't come here again cause of busses. But Lee Zing comes every time and come upstairs and the food is just as good. read more

Well I really like but lately they took out the ayce they used to have a long time ago. Now forget it, unless you have money to spare and go but me I will wait till either it comeback or I look for somewhere else.. food is good but the price really adds up read more

It was a very nice place to go to I'm glad I went it was a good atmosphere a good service and very friendly and very quick

Came here for dinner after a short school day. When I entered, there were a few customers. The all you can eat has more American Chinese foods. The special rolls are just upgraded versions of the normal rolls. I ordered their bubble tea. The choices for sushi are limited compared to River Sushi and Kikoo Sushi. read more

The menu has something for everyone -Sushi, pad Thai, ramen, bento boxes, etc. I recommend trying the hot and spicy crawfish, it's delicious and they provide generous portions! I have yet to sit in the restaurant and have meal but I will say the delivery service is expeditious. I haven't had to wait longer than 35 minutes for any of my orders. read more

Their menu has a variety of selections to choose from; you can stay in or take out. The cooked rolls are made fresh onsite.

The food is decent. I took mine to go, i have to come back and sit down and get me some of the hand rolled sushi. The only reason i gave them 4 instead of 5 was because i asked the guys handling my to go was there cutlery in the bag and he assured me it was...but there was none!! And there was no egg in my rice! That's the reason for ordering fried rice! Hopefully my next visit will be better. Oh and they didn't have "hot mustard" I love hot mustard with my food!! read more

Shangeri-La Restaurant - Kung po shrimp - Asian Fusion Near Me - Bronx, New York

I've been to this restaurant about 6 times and the quality is consistently good. Usually I take my sons for the all you can eat sushi ($24.99)/person limit of 90 minutes which is great value if you are big eaters . They are always fairly busy which means that the fish is fresh. Large selection of hot food too. Last time we ordered off the menu and started with soup dumplings and scallion pancakes which were both just ok. Then we followed with 16- piece sushi which was very fresh with a good selection and beautiful presentation. (Check out the dry ice smoke). Only thing is the atmosphere is not great. It gets very noisy along with Asian music and tv over the bar. However a good place to go in the Bronx without breaking the bank read more

When for lunch by myself they didn't seem too happy with that I ordered for for one person, thought I should've ordered more.? Best sushi spot I've ever came to eat out in the Bronx. My fiancée and I absolutely love coming here to eat their delectable sushi and we absolutely love the ambiance; so warm and welcoming. Customer service is outstanding. If you decide to come to this place, ask for Mike or Mitch to be of your service; they know how to treat a customer very well! I personally LOVE their teriyaki tofu! So good! If you live in the Bronx, love, and crave sushi, This is the place to be. Guarantee that you won't regret it. read more

My spouse and I went to Shangerila a few hours ago and felt uncomfortable. The food was incredibly salty. The employees looked like they didn't want to be there, they looked bitter and were lousy waiters. My spouse didn't eat the food since it was bad because of the salt overload. An alternative dish was offered way into the dinner, they never asked if we wanted refills for our drinks or if we wanted utensils. They rushed us to desert, so we asked for desert and then they came back to ask if we wanted anything else. We told them we were waiting for desert. (In other words anything else so we can bring you the check?.) The deserts were rushed and the orders were completely wrong. It was clear they wanted us gone ASAP. I don't see us going there again. read more

Pretty great sushi! We ordered the gyoza first to start off and they were great. For sushi we ordered the Philadelphia roll, sweet heart roll, spider roll and our personal favourite the Mayflower roll. We also ordered a strawberry and pineapple bubble tea. The Philadelphia roll was pretty standard and nothing special but still tasty, the sweetheart was pretty good as well. Our two favourites were the spider roll and the Mayflower. They were delicious!! And if we weren't stuffed we'd have ordered more. There was a slight mix up with my drink order though when i ordered a pineapple bubble tea ans got some weird brown drink that tasted sickly sweet and bitter at the same time. I told the waiter and he later came back with the pineapple and explained that there was a mix up and that wasn't the pineapple one. Other than that it was a great meal and we will definitely be coming back soon! read more

Shangeri-La Restaurant - Philadelphia roll, spider roll, sweetheart roll, may flower roll - Asian Fusion Near Me - Bronx, New York

This location is probably the BEST sushi I have eaten in the Bronx.. probably the only one that I would trust to eat at. We ordered from the AYCE menu.. the shrimp dumplings were NOTHING to rave about. However; the crab ragoons were sooo delish. The rolls were wrapped tightly where it wasn't coming apart (that deserved an entire whole star). Why Were they given 3 stars, goofyviv? Well.. the waitress was SOOOOO uneasy. We would ask her a simple question as to what was in the specialty rolls.. and her answer to us was ' "california roll" is the famous one here'.. wtf!! We never even asked her which one was the most famous one! Nor did we even care for a cali roll. She made us feel rushed and not as comfy as we tend to feel when going to AYCE spots OUTSIDE of the bronx. read more

I greatly enjoy this place is comfy and clean in appearance. An all you can eat menu is offered for the sushi lovers like me. They offer great variety of appetizers that included and other variety entrees . They don't permit wasting food and will be charged if you do so. It is within their policy, which I find great. Everything overall was fantastic. I just think the staff has to be a little more attentive by constantly checking up on the clients. I truly recommend, my dining experience was great. read more

Shangerila offers a very good all you can eat sushi deal. Although it is not the only thing you can try here, this is what I opt for whenever I visit. These are some of the things I always get: - sweet potato roll - spicy tuna - avocado roll - shrimp tempura (it's okay) - rock shrimp - dumplings And it comes with free ice cream at the end. It is a lot of food, but if you aren't hungry I'd suggest ordering certain things separately. It is not only cheaper that way but at the end of the meal you won't feel forced to finish it all. The restaurant has a strict policy on finishing every single item you have purchased. If you do not abide by this rule, they charge you for what is left, similarly to other all you can eat sushi spots. read more

I thought this place was going to be really good...when we got there my sister wanted to order her own meal while her gf and I wanted the all you can eat the waiter told us no in a rude way then told my sister she would have to pay upfront for everything If shE wanted to do that...we crossed off whaat we wanted he came back again and told us we were asking for too much food we didn't understand being as tho we were paying for all you can eat...he Started to bring out the food and the portions were so small (3 tiny chicken wings which were gross) then came with the sushi while some rolls were good others were not so much I honestly wouldn't recommend this place to anybody because the quality of customer service is a disgrace read more

I ordered a salmon teriyaki bento box with Miso soup and was highly disappointed. The salmon was very thin, had a very rubbery taste, and the consistency of the fish itself was very dry. The California rolls were decent, but the Shumai was slimy and left a weird after taste in my mouth. The rice was all clumped together, and looked very unappetizing. Overall, I did not enjoy my meal and I honestly would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

I hope someday they bring back the all you can eat buffet; but with the way everything is going, I highly doubt. One of my more favorite Sushi or Asian fusion eats in the Bronx. Found this place on yelp and went here for my sister's bday dinner since she didn't wanna go anywhere too far from home. The wallpaper is really pretty and the booths are nice and comfy. It was pretty quiet (maybe 2 or 3 other groups) which i liked :) We ordered the scallion pancake, shrimp & vegetable tempura, and the samosas for apps. The servings were small IMO, but they did the job. The samosas weren't really samosas, they were little flat triangle pastries filled with curry potatoes, and they were freaking HOT, burned my bottom lip :( Everything tasted great! Kind of confused as how the AYCE worked, and by the time the server came to take orders my Menu ADD had me order something else. I had the Happy Combo (spicy tuna, eel avocado and california), my mom had the curry chicken bento box, my sisters had the beef korean soup and a spicy beef with vegetables dish (wasn't spicy though). I had a little bit of everything and it was all verrry delicious. No complaints. The food here rocks! And the entree portions are generous. Not a fan of the bubble tea, I like my bubble tea to have that smoothie consistency. They have the kind that is bubble tea with blocks of ice in it. bleh. i had the taro and it was a little too sweet, but it was still tasty enough. Service was good, food came fast. I'll go back here when I'm reeeally hungry to try the AYCE part of the menu :) Right next to the 6 train :) read more

Downgraded to 1* for being a condescending douche! No AYCE place in the "nation" can satisfy me if you can't? Big ego for an average Bronx sushi place located under the el. Anyone who knows sushi knows that orange mayo and eel sauce is basic for sushi rolls? Really, all rolls? You have to add a lot of cucumber to make it a "salad"? Sushi Q down the block makes a Kani salad with way more "crab", and a lot less "salad". Which is why we've only ordered your Kani salad the one time. By the way, a good steak doesn't need A1, just like good sushi doesn't need to be slathered in your brown and orange goo. Note to management: Listen to your customers, don't condescend. Not everyone will like everything. We won't be back. Not even for the bubble tea. You've just lost a regular. read more

I've been craving ramen for some time and finally decided to get some from here. Not what i expected. Deep fried dumplings were not as flavorful and super doughy. Ramen we ordered was also not as expected. The wings were ok the fries very soft and the white rice was ok. Not satisfied read more

DON'T COME HERE TO EAT The all-you-can-eat combo Chinese/Japanese gimmick is the only reason this place is still in business. The food is so-so, which is to be expected for an all-you-can-eat place, but the service... If you ever seen the movie Casino near the end, where Robert DeNiro as his character is narrating how Las Vegas was after the whole Tangiers fiasco during the movie: "...in the old days dealers knew your name, what you drank, what you played, today it's like checking into an airport. And if you order room service you're lucky if you get it by Thursday." That pretty much sums up the service. This is the most consistent thing I can count on when it comes to this restaurant. Wouldn't matter if it was on a weekend or in the middle of an off day. I can always count on the service fucking up left and right. They even sometimes forget to bring you water when you sit down. Fucking water. The pitcher sits in front of the sushi bar but God forbid you eventually get fed up waiting and decide to pour yourself a glass they make a big fuss over not touching restaurant property. Do yourself a favor, steer clear of this place and go to a decent sushi restaurant (Sushi-Q's is nearby on Crosby). I guarantee you any other place would have fresher fish and better service. I can open up a lemonade/sushi stand outside in the freezing weather and still provide you with a better culinary experience. Just don't go. read more

Came here with a friend because it was suggested as a really bomb place for sushi. I was sadly disappointed. The price is good for all you can eat sushi but the quality of the food isn't that great I would say. I felt that most of our dishes were bland or not the freshest. Out of the 7 rolls we ordered, we only thought two tasted good. On the list sushi we ordered was the dragon roll, ell avocado, white tuna, California, shrimp tempora, spider, and Boston. The Boston and the spider were all right, but everything else was not good. We couldn't even eat them. The appetizers also were a bit disappointing. The dumplings were so thick with the dough that you barely tasted the meat. The soup was bland. Maybe it was an off day when I went, but I unfortunately won't be returning. read more
