There was a 1/3HP sump pump (with a plastic impeller) installed to convey water to a nearby drainage ditch. One January afternoon, my wife and I return home from trip only to hear the sump pump making crazy sounds. I investigated only to find the sump pump broke and had been spewing water into the crawl-space. The downside to having the vapor barrier was now the water couldn't seep back into the ground and was sitting on the plastic. I hired a restoration company who did a horrible job but eventually got the water cleared a whole other story), and I needed to hire a plumber to help me replace the broken sump pump and inspect the rest of the system. I reviewed several local plumbers and selected Jeff - firstly because he is a man of faith and I felt like I should be able to trust him. Jeff was responsive, a clear communicator, on time and did great work. I couldn't have asked for better. Additionally, I feel like he went above and beyond. He advised me on the kind of sump pump that would last longer and perform better (1/2HP with stainless steel impeller). This empowered me to compare with the 1/3HP & plastic impeller from various retailers and in the end I went with his recommendation. Jeff could have done what, in my experience, most contractors would do - buy the cheapest replacement and mark-up "materials" on the invoice. Instead, I purchased the sump I wanted and he replaced and tested it to ensure the system worked. I would do business with Jeff again and recommend him to everyone!

My brother needed an RV jack installed so he quit popping the existing panel every time he visits from out of state. I called 5 different contractors for quotes. Only 2 contractors physically came to look at the panel. Ralph came out himself to give us a quote. He explained everything to my Mom and I telling us about the existing panel we had & the kind of panel he would install. He explained what was going to happen. He explained the SMUD would assign us an engineer to help us know what need to be done before we started. What trees would probably be in the way and how long the project would take. Ralph was the only one to give us a complete detailed estimate of everything they were going to. His price wasn't the lowest nor was it the highest but it was the most professional. Once we got the trees removed from in front of the old electrical box and in the tree that the SMUD cable was in, we called Ralph, he set up a day and time with SMUD and the County inspectors and kept us in the loop with all the emails. On the day of installation, his crew (Andy & Austin) showed up exactly at 8:00 with the lineman from SMUD who turned the power off. Andy & Austin worked diligently until 3:30 getting the old box removed and installing the new box. The inspectors came out approved their work & gave the OK to turn the power back on. Shortly thereafter two SMUD lineman came & connected the cables back up. On the hottest day of the year they all worked cleanly and safely and answered any questions I had. Working with Lori in the office was so easy. She sent me an email with and invoice for the deposit, I paid that online, and then after the final inspection I went back to the same email and paid the rest of the invoice. I paid it all with a credit card and got a receipt immediately that I had paid my bill. If we ever have any electrical needs again, the only company I would call would be Bonham Electric and would recommend Bonham Electric to any homeowner who needs their main breaker panel replaced.

Actually, Joe is the one that came out and did a thorough estimate, emailing me a detailed copy soon after. The other guy, from Folsom Lake Electric, took the info over the phone and sent me an estimate. Both estimates were pretty close to each other, but because Folsom Lake Electric had lots of good reviews on Yelp, and Eilhardt didn't have any yet, I decided to go with FLE. It was actually about 5 mos after I got the estimates that I finally decided to get the job done. I emailed Mike at FLE, telling him I was ready to go, but didn't hear back. Had to email several times. Finally, I heard back but they then said he'd have to come out to do the estimate before first, even though I emailed his original estimate to him. Turns out his original estimate didn't include actually installing the pendant lights, just wiring for them. Huh? Why wouldn't you naturally include that in the estimate?? So, his price jumped up $100. Time to go with Joe at Eilhardt instead! Joe came on time, had everything he needed, got all 6 lights wired for and installed - beautifully - in a timely fashion, all on dimmers, and charged EXACTLY what he said he'd charge on the estimate! No surprises! He checked with me on every decision and option as he went along. We had talked before about the gimble lights and he said they were halogen. I didn't want halogen because of the heat they generate, so he said he could get me LED for x amount more money, as those bulbs are more expensive. He was totally accurate on that too. He was friendly, focused, and did a beautiful job, and I LOVE my new lights. He did leave a small area for the access hole that will need a little spackle and touch up paint, but he told me about it up front, and it's something that any electrician would have had to do. FLC had mentioned a repair would be needed too. I highly recommend Joe Eilhardt and will gladly go back to him in a heartbeat for any other electrical needs.
