The first visit was for a routine home inspection. They claimed to have found a plumbing leak and quoted my father nearly $2,000 for the repair. Fortunately, I encouraged him to get a second opinion. Another licensed plumber came out, inspected the same issue, tightened a loose screw, and told my father there was nothing else wrong and no charge. That experience alone made me question their honesty. The most recent job was even worse. The photos speak for themselves. Bell Brothers installed or serviced this sewer cleanout, but: The valve box/housing was installed too low. The sewer cleanout pipe extends above the housing and they left a rag in the cleanout. The lid cannot properly seat or lock into place because the pipe interferes with it. The work area was left full of dirt, rocks, and debris instead of being restored. This is unacceptable workmanship for a company that charges premium prices. Based on my family's experience, Bell Brothers appears to overcharge, performs substandard work, and, in my opinion, takes advantage of elderly customers who may not know to seek a second opinion. I highly recommend getting multiple estimates before agreeing to any repairs. It saved my father nearly $2,000 once, and I wish we had done the same before this most recent job.
