I had these guys replace my 45-year-old package unit on the roof. The new system converted a gas furnace to all electric heat pump. It's crazy efficient compared to what I had before. Works amazing and Install looks super clean. Very competitive pricing also. Thanks guys. read more

My property manager contracts with Authority. Even though the renter is not the direct customer and property managers would most likely continue to use Authority even if service was subpar, Authority provided me with EXCELLENT customer service! The office staff (I wish I knew her name) answered all of my questions and provided updates. The tech, Devin, is professional, kind, honest, and efficient. He also provided me with excellent information and updates. I can't comment on value because I'm a renter, but I can tell you that Authority's quick response time and performance saved my property manager from several angry phone calls and demands for hotel compensation. read more

This business is awesome! David and Devon were able to discover and fix the electric problem with the connection between the thermostat and the ac unit. Their fees are very reasonable. I so appreciate what they were able to do for me. I HIGHLY recommend this company!! I give these guys 5 stars!! read more

They are so professional and genuine. They fixed my air conditioning with a smile and they were clean! I highly recommend them!

Miracles do happen!!!! Our ac unit just stopped working , it was about 102-103 outside. I have 2 pets inside. I realized it just stopped running the inside reached 92 degrees. I called American Home Sheild for help, no luck. My son used this company before so he referred me. Kid you not , I spoke with the owner ( family owned business) explained my situation. She was very polite and said let me check with AC repair men, someone came same day fixed it and it was affordable. They were very professional, knowledgeable. I'm so thankful that this company exists! Thank you again , your prompt hard work was so appreciated . read more

David came out to recharge my home's system. He was very professional and showed up within the 2 hour window. Authority has never tried to sell me any unnecessary upgrades and has been perfectly willing to keep my existing 19 year old system running as long as possible. read more

Our downstairs AC decided not to work and only blow out somewhat cool air. It was like 80 in the house not good... We called Authority Heating and Air and they were able to come out in about 4 days. It's that busy time of year. We still had cool air upstairs because we have 2 systems. David Campbell was able to come out and fix our problem. He was prompt, explained the problem and fix it. We were very pleased with his work and would recommend this company. read more

Very friendly family owned company. I had an HVAC replaced. Then fit the new unit much better than the old one, reducing noise (they actually lifted the unit onto a platform they built to do this. They have also been very responsive every time I need help. Every single one of them is nice, treats the property with respect, and are easy contact. I highly recommend giving them a chance. read more

We enthusiastically echo without hesitation all the rave reviews this company has received on Yelp. Dave (#2) arrived promptly within the 2-hr window we were given, checked out the AC unit, saw that the compressor needed replacing, fetched the part from his vehicle and promptly installed it all the while explaining to my interested hubby what he was doing, answering questions and exchanging jokes and funny commentary. All I heard from inside the house was the sound of happy laughter. Within 30 minutes he completed his mission and we have AC that is ready for the summer heat waves of Sacramento and the furnace ready for the cold days of winter. Thumbs up all the way. No need to call anyone else! read more

AC had issues last time, and they fixed it. So we had them do maintenance for the AC this time. Devin was really thorough. He had booties and a mask ready before entering the house. He explained everything he did in detail when he was finished. Price was affordable. I highly recommend them! read more

Great service and very fast! David came over first to see what the problem with our AC was. Found it, ordered the part and came back to fix it the same week. While it was not a cheap part, the approach to replace it without changing the whole thing was very thoughtful. He also helped us finding a leak in our ducts, which will save us a lot of $$ eventually. We are definitely coming back if (when) something breaks again - they are just great and super nice to work with. read more

This company is fantastic! They are always honest and tell me exactly what is going on and what they will do to remedy the problem. They are my go to company! read more

What a pleasure to write this review for Authority Heating & Air. They came out on a same day appointment to repair our leaking AC unit. Devin was here within three hours of calling the company. He immediately assessed the situation and went into the attic to get started. He was very kind and professional. This is a small, family owned business who offer reasonable prices and prompt service! Also I have to tell you it is nice to have a young person who was a student where I worked many years ago working on my home! If you have any issues with your AC give them a call! read more

My downstairs A/C unit went out. Of course always at the wrong time. Called Authority from a recommendation from another company(who would have thought!!). David showed up, actually an hour earlier than the scheduled appointment time was set for and found the problem right away. He was able to repair and get my unit up and running again and it didn't cost an arm and a leg. Nice to have A/C for the hot days to come this summer. Thank you David and Authority for the quick and efficient work. I definitely recommend Authority for any HVAC issues you may encounter. read more

I requested an estimate for replacement of my older HVAC system. I was greeted with very kind knowledgeable technician who listened to what I was looking for. I selected Authority because they met all of my criteria for the project. My new HVAC system with modified duct work was completed in one business day. Yes, I would recommend Authority Heating & Air Conditioning. read more

We had David come out to our place today and helped install two smart thermostats. Super efficient, super knowledgeable, and super clear communication overall. Will hire them again for other projects. read more

Our A/C took a dump two days before predicted high temps over 100 degrees. Our HVAC maintenance guy from Sierra Aire (also amazing for regular tune-ups and check-ups) recommended Authority. I called them and Dave came out the same day to check the situation. It was the worst case scenario of course - the entire HVAC system which had soldiered on for 22 years was no longer salvageable. Dave got us an estimate the same day. It was a big ticket job, but it had to be done, and it was in line with an estimate I had gotten the following day so it was definitely fair. Luckily for us, they were able to start work within 2 days! The crew got the entire install done in one day. They were polite, clean and super efficient. The new system is amazing and so much more efficient than the old equipment. I can recommend Authority without any reservations whatsoever. read more

My AC died overnight, and Authority was able to quickly schedule my repair the next day. The scheduler was friendly and provided great customer service. David the technician was personable and experienced. He quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem and the costs was very reasonable. I highly recommend this business! read more

Thank you so much to David and Devin! We were having issues with our semi older AC and were at one point told by a different company we should replace the entire system including ducts and it would be about $35k. ‍ David and Devin were able to fix the issues which ,surprise, were not nearly as drastic as we were told they were by other company and for under $1000. It was nice to see a company actually want to help you extend the life of your existing unit and not try to suggest a new one if not needed. We greatly appreciate Authority Heating and Air for being a trustworthy company and that they did not try to rip us off or upsell us. They were on time, left our house perfectly clean after working and were able to fix our AC issues in a timely manner. In today's day and age it's rare to find a company that treats you like a friend or family and isn't trying to make a buck. Highly recommend this trustworthy company if you need work done on your HVAC. Cannot thank you enough! read more

Our a/c went out and Authority was able to come out the same day I called. Initially they replaced a blown fuse, but it kept blowing and the problem was tricky to pinpoint. They kept at it until it was fixed and answered immediately each time I contacted them. Not to mention everyone who came to our house was friendly, polite and professional. Consider me a customer for life. read more

Authority Heating & Air Conditioning - Heating & Air Conditioning/HVAC Near Me

David And his team were extremely responsive and they seem to know their stuff. They even came back an extra time to help with a strange problem that was happening with my furnace. They also charged me $100 less than another well reviewed competitor. read more

I just had my air conditioner replaced by Authority Air. I first got a recommendation from them from the person who was doing temporary repairs to my unit and he said that it would now need to be replaced. He recommended Authority Air. I am so glad that he did. This is a smaller company, and so the prices are very reasonable. They are so professional, and so good at what they do. It's easy to get them in when you need them. The are careful to keep your house clean in the process. I couldn't believe how much quieter my new furnace (several years prior) and air conditioner were after installation. I thought they weren't working at first. It was so quiet it sounded like wind. They balanced the air conditioner so that it would run more effienciently. They installed a C-wire. They also replaced my thermostats. They had several options that were highly rated online. They are so friendly as well. Highly recommend them. read more

Big thanks to David! My unit is SUPER old, but he was able to figure out the issue and get it resolved quickly. Highly recommend!

Heater went out and I called one company that was referred to me by a friend. They were booked solid so they told me to give Authority a call. Great group of people. They came out, diagnosed/fixed the problem and made sure our panel wouldn't short out by fabricating a cover. Quick, efficient and cost wasn't as bad as I expected. read more

My air conditioner, heating & whole house fan lost power. I called Authority & spoke to Victoria she was very helpful & was able to schedule an appointment the same day. Devon arrived within the schedule time frame. He was able to spot the problem and save me money. My experience with Authority is why I'm writing this review. They were all very professional, nice, honest (by far in saving money) and on time. I would definitely recommend. read more

Devin came out to check our HVAC motor, he replaced it and the capacitor, also 4 screws that another company messed up, surprise. Now it works better than ever. Had another company check it prior, was told the output is okay, but the motor leaks oil, surprise.. Devin said it did not leak, but it's not putting out as should. The charge was $150.00 less than the other company, surprise. This is the best company in the Sacramento area. He checked our outside condesor unit, no extra charge, said the capacitor had been replaced by another company, surprise, the capacitor was to be a temporary use and not permanent. Can't say enough about this company. Very good people. I could not afford the capacitor at that time, will do when the weather gets warmer. Authority is our go to company, hands down. read more

If I could pick 20 starts I would!! Our AC went out in the evening on the first day of a heat wave. Our house got to 85 degrees by 7 am the next day. I am 8 months pregnant, we have a 21 month toddler and a dog with a day set to reach 117 degrees! After many frantic calls to several companies in which most didn't even answer, Authority was able to somehow squeeze us in. By 9 am, David was at our door and fixed our blown capacitor within 20 min. My pregnant self balled my eyes out after he left stepping into a cool home. David was extremely professional and kind as well was the rest of the team we spoke with at Authority. We were blown away by their responsiveness and HIGHLY recommend them for any HVAC needs. If we ever need anything in the future we will for sure be calling them again. Again we cannot thank you all enough!! read more

First review, but 3rd time I have used them. They FIX HVAC issues that are fixable! Did not have to listen to a sales pitch to upgrade/replace our 25 year-old obsolete unit for big money (like many of the "big name" HVAC companies that do so much advertising always do). My son, a realtor, referred me to them. Great "insider tip"! Very fair on pricing. read more

Called them in late afternoon because my AC went out and they sent someone asap. They installed a starter kit with a note it may not last and charged $250. A week later it was doing the same thing. My neighbor looked at it and the starter kit burned out so he removed it. And got AC up and running. read more

Quick, high quality work with reasonable price!!! Our central a/c quit during those hot few days last month. I was referred to Authority Heating & Air Conditioning. When I called I got immediate answer from Vicoria. I got a quick appointment. Guess what, Dave came the day before the appointment and diagnosed the problem. We had to wait for the part (the fan motor) and fixed on time. Now my a/c gives cold air! The best part is very reasonable price. I am very satisfied with the service. Highly recommended!! read more

I cannot say enough positive things about this family-run company. We needed a new AC unit during a heatwave. Costa installed the unit; he was professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient as is everyone on staff. About a week later, a piece in the attic went out (bummer of a coincidence) and Authority came out to replace it with a fair price. All communication was promptly responded to, they were able to come out almost immediately to address both issues. David assisted us with various things and you can tell he really wants to provide customers with the best experience possible. This is a company who truly values their customers and provides exceptional customer service. BIG thank you to David, Costa, Dave, Deven, and Victoria. If you have AC and heating needs, look no further than Authority Heating and Air Conditioning. After this experience, we are lifelong customers! read more

I had the Authority team out to replace my whole house AC last week and it was a pleasure from start to finish. They were professional, clean, respectful, and very knowledgeable. Great family owned business that cares about your business/home. Thanks Dave and family for your kindness.

Dave and the team at Authority went above and beyond at replacing our old HVAC system. Our old AC system was 30 years old and on its last legs. So we started getting bids on replacement. Dave, the owner came out to do the bid himself. He was the only contractor that got up in the attic to inspect the ductwork and registers. He didn't try to up-sell me on anything I didn't need and offered a very competitive quote to replace the AC condenser, evaporator and furnace. The guys that came out to do the install were fantastic as well. They were friendly and knowledgeable. They even brought me some tacos from their Jack in the Box lunch run. Super group of guys. I would definitely recommend this company for your HVAC needs. read more

Had my system replaced 7/1/2024. From my first contact, to the end of the job, these guys were fantastic. I'm not big on reviewing, but the service was too good I had to share. Dave gave me an outline of products and an outline of the financing options available if needed. Devin came out for my estimate and gave me different system options we could go with depending what was looking for. He was very respectful and made sure all my questions were answered. Once I selected my system (I went with the quieter, energy efficient system) they popped me on the schedule when it worked for me and was sent a very detailed breakdown of both install costs and payment options available. On install day, Devin showed up again to make sure we were all set to go and 2 of the installers, Blake and Costa, started prepping to remove my old system. Blake and Costa put in some serious work on the 100+ degree day. They were very respectful of my things in the yard and house as they removed and replaced my entire system. Costa crawled under in the crawl space and noticed I had pretty massive rips in some of the ducting. He patched it up and tested it out for leaks and it's working like a champ. Devin came back out once everything was up and running to test the ducts and made sure the cool air was flowing good in all rooms of the house. After everything was said and done, I had the pleasure of talking with Victoria at the office. I had a couple questions about the financing and she had all the answers. Overall, best experience I've ever had with any contractor and will 100% recommend to anyone looking for any air conditioning or heating needs! Thank you Authority!! read more

One of my friends asked me who I would recommend for heating and air contractor, and I recommended Authority Heating & Air, hands down. When I suggested her to read the Yelp reviews, I realized I had not submitted a review. So Dave, my apologies for the late review. Authority Heating & Air replaced my entire heating and air system with a ductless heating and air systems a few years ago. Its a unique system in that every room in the house has a separate unit and separately controlled--a great system that saves thousands of dollar every year. Additionally, not many contractors have installed a whole house system, so finding the right and competent contractor was a long and grueling process. That is until I encountered Dave from Authority Heating & Air. Dave took the time to explain the installation process, and promptly provided a quote that was significantly less than all other contractors. After selecting them, they arrived on time, worked efficiently, took great care to ensure my pets did not get out, and always wore protective shoe coverage to protect my floors. After the installation, Dave followed up a couple of times to ensure my systems were working properly. I have had many different types of remodels and upgrades to my home over the years, and Dave is the only contractor who has ever followed up after receiving payment. They are very friendly and professional, and their service and responsiveness were awesome. Also their prices were very reasonable. Again, thank you Dave and family! read more
