Reduced outside noise to zero!!! We had vinyl double glass windows before, but were not happy with the noise level, especially during the landscaping days. Dan come over and offered special noise blocking windows. We installed them in one bedroom to check how they work and the result is amazing. We would do it earlier if knew that this is possible. His contractors are very knowledgeable, they work for this company 10+ years and were able to help us with our old windows while working on our new windows. Dan came out to our home last month, took measurements, gave us suggestions for the double-pained windows that we wanted & gave us a quote within 24 hours. Our condo had the original 1980's single-pained 'glass' windows & we had lived with them long enough!! The special order was placed & had our windows installed within a few hours on the day the workers arrived. We were so impressed with their skill & years of knowledge. Out with the old & in with the new, with no mess to clean up. Once installed, they polished both the inside & out, and showed us in detail how to pop off the new screens with ease as well as the windows, if need be. Excellent service from start to finish. The owner came out to the house to measure and quote, next day after my initial call, and got two quotes over for both windows they carried. Went to their store front a few days later and got a full demo of the window options. Selected and got on the books... then Covid happened. The Shamrock team was very flexible with Covid and were able to push my install until I was comfortable to have people at my house. Once I gave them the thumbs up for the install, I got scheduled for the following week. The install team was efficient and awesome. If I had a choice I would not have any star. The owner came to look at my windows and says he will email me the quote. After 1 week, I called and followed up and the receptionist told me that she was going to remind him. Another week passed, still no email. I even checked my junk mail. I called again, same response- will let him know. Never received an email with the quote. If he did not want to bid on the project, I would think letting me know would have been the better customer service. read more

Shamrock replaced our windows and doors 15 plus years ago and the job they did was superior. Dan and Jackie are knowledgeable, transparent and low key, with excellent follow through. They have also helped us with replacing glass in a french door that wasn't their original handiwork. Dan came out this year to consult on installing a cantina door and gave us great counsel (even though we decided not to go that route). I refer them any chance I get. read more

Dan - the broken window was an accident. That can't be helped and we don't have a problem with that. What we DO have a problem with is the fact that our phone calls weren't returned, delays weren't communicated - and then, when we had an issue with the sliding door not latching easily? The technician (Dan) came out and proceeded to make my husband feel like an idiot for not being able to shut the door properly. He did adjust it so that it was better, but the slider *still* doesn't work properly. But we live with it rather than have someone come into our home and insult us. The work itself was good. We love the windows. We did not appreciate the treatment. As to Dan being out the next day - that is true, but that was after a few phone calls to them. NOT the first one (it was the first one that Dan fielded himself). read more

The proof of a truly excellent contractor is in the follow up, the willingness to return to adjust or repair things after the job has concluded. Two years ago, Shamrock installed my new Crystal replacement windows. Shamrock came out to repair a trim piece that had come unstuck the same day they got the call! Fast efficient friendly service. The folks we worked with at Shamrock were all very good. From the first scheduling call on through the quote and installation process. The actual I voice came in $105 dollars BELOW the quoted amount. They passed on an unexpected savings to us that they could have easily pocketed without us ever knowing. Who does that? The Best Business Experience EVER! From the moment my husband and I entered family owned and operated Shamrock Windows and Doors in Laguna Hills, we had a clear feeling of being with honest, small business owners, and it was a justified feeling that proved to be 100 percent correct. Ahhh, refreshing! Owners Dan and Jackie listened carefully to our criteria, respected my design and pricing needs, and brought us into the showroom to demonstrate the various aspects of the Milgard windows as it related to our needs. Working with Dan and Jackie (and Jackie's mom, too!) is a pleasure. I can't emphasize that enough. It is the rare exception these days to be treated with such respect, congeniality, and attention to detail. An important aspect that I want to outline here is the following: when giving Dan my explicit list of "wants" for our new windows (maximum light without trim blocking it, color of glass, color of trim, maximum air flow from the courtyard), Dan not only redesigned our existing window to allow much greater air flow, and addressed our other criteria, but...and this is key, he selected, as our best match, the least expensive of the three Milgard styles we were looking at! (I was open to any of the three styles, price-wise.) How often does that happen? Well it happened here. (Dan understands the design requirements for Laguna Woods, and in fact Laguna Woods worked with him to write the standardization rules for replacement windows.) The installers arrived promptly and did a fantastic job; it was quick and clean, and we are absolutely thrilled with our new windows. I am actually surprised that this "business" has good reviews. We used Shamrock Windows & Doors for our new windows and the customer service is AWFUL!!!! I have never found it so hard to try to get a business to give me a quote or even email/call me back! Not to mention they were extremely rude throughout the entire process. It took 2 months longer than originally told to get our windows installed (I understand that is takes longer than usual to receive items due to a shortage of workers, but it would be nice to get some communication or have a business answer their phone or even call me back when told they were going to call back). The worst part of it ALL, which is why I am writing this review when I never take the time to write reviews), is because it took so long to get the windows installed, our loan on the windows expired and we had to renew it. So just 2 days after the windows were installed and we were told we had to renew our loan (which was on a Friday, right before the weekend), the owner calls us on Monday and tells us that he is going to get a lien put on our house if we don't sign the documents for the loan. I couldn't even believe that after weeks and months of never being able to get a hold of these people, that they had the audacity to threaten us after just being told 48 hours prior about the loan, right before the weekend. I desperately needed new interior doors and was referred to this company by a trusted friend. I had two quotes from other companies but decided to wait and hopefully use my friend's recommendation instead. I called a few times with no answer and decided to call back rather than leaving a voicemail. On 6/27 I got a hold of Jackie who instructed me to e mail all measurements and my request in order to obtain a quote. It was a hassle to measure every door but I did my best and sent the email on 6/29. I included two types of possible panel doors for reference. Jackie responded to ask which one I preferred and I let her know I'd like both prices. It is 7/15 and I have yet to hear back from anyone. Had I gone with the initial companies, the job would have been completed by now. I can not speak to the quality of work but the lack of follow through is unacceptable considering they requested email communication and I told her she can text or email me. I just had a new sliding door and window installed from Shamrock Window and Door Company. They did one fantastic job from beginning to end. I had major leaks because of the rains and was concerned about future rains and more damage and Shamrock came to the rescue. They also found and fixed a potential electrical hazard from the previous door installation which could have caused a fire. The installation team was very efficient and did an incredible job. I had Shamrock out to my house and the guy was very nice and knowledgeable. I wanted to get the windows and doors done ASAP and get the estimate so I could submit the needed paperwork to the association. I have called Shamrock three times and it has now been three weeks and I still do not have the estimate. I would like to give Shamrock my business but I guess they don't want it. I was told by Jackie that "tomorrow" I would received the estimate. Well tomorrow has come and gone over a week ago and still nothing... In response to Dan's comment: Dan, you did secure the warranty in the end, but it was the road that got us to that point that lead to the one star review. You are correct, I am a firefighter, and it was my moral compass that caused me to repost this review. I was not about to let you strong arm me into taking it down after sitting through two phone conversations where you belittled and berated me. You are correct, I was working on electrical when you came to the house, I was TAKING OUT unpermitted electrical that the previous owner had installed. The kitchen work that you speak of was new cabinet paint and new counter tops, neither of which require permits. In fact, the only work that required permits at that house were your windows, and when I mentioned not pulling permits you raised no opposition. Derick was the one who suggested that you guys come back Monday and was relieved because he said that the job was a lot to do in one day. I actually gave him the option and said if he preferred to come back Monday that it was fine with me, your employee is the one that made the call to extend the install to two days. Also, yes all things that were done were disclosed to the new owners and what was not permitted was noted in the disclosure statement. Dan, which part of my review with the exception of my confusing two names is untrue? Did you not call me twice? Did you not call me a liar? Did you not try and blackmail me with a permit issue? Most importantly, did you not tell me that you do not work with Crystal Windows much and that you are not familiar with their warranty? In the end we both made mistakes, you are right, I should have pulled permits. I came to Yelp to report my experience and I did not fabricate any of this story, I'm simply reporting my experience and letting other customers render their own judgments. When you consider window replacement you are trusting the integrity of your home living environment to the proper fitting and installation of windows and doors. Do NOT rely on a nice presentation, a nice person or a nice discount. Shamrock Windows owned by Dan and Jackie Gangan is NOT a good choice for windows. The work was sloppy it took me a couple days to clean up . My neighbors called and said there was goop running down the sides of my house ( water proof sealant). The windows leaked for several years, every time Shamrock came out and helped assist the drying process with a dehumidifyer and some bandaids because all the inside plastic casing came loose and aeay from the windows. Yet they never solved the problem . FINALLY, A contractor recognized something wrong with the windows. Manufactor defects that only the installers would have seen . I'm sure it was passed off, they had to know it was a major flaw. With that knowledge the windows were replaced but a mold issue had developed from years of water leaking inside the walls. This time, Team Shamrock was not so nice . My family has suffered mold related health issues and my life has been a nightmare. I would Never Recommend Shamrock for window replacement . We are completely satisfied with the product supplied and the work performed. Dan thoroughly explained the difference in the windows and doors he could install for us. He conducted and on site inspection and made suggestions based on his findings at our Laguna Niguel, CA home. He did not give a high pressure sale. We took ample time to think through our purchase and what needed to be done. Thanks to his careful assessment of using special tinting and window specification for areas getting direct sunlight, we hardly ever need to use our air-conditioner. We opted for complete window removal and reinstallation (costs more), not a retro-fit. His installers were careful to keep the area clean and neat, especially when applying the new Stucco. The Stucco application and matching was done especially well, you cannot see any seams. The staff was very professional in keeping us informed as to when they were coming and what was going to be done each day and the following day as work progressed. We had a rather complicated personal schedule that they were willing to accommodate. This was not the first or only window contractor we looked at, but it was the last one we looked at. We had shamrock install several windows and a Red Oak front door with side lites. One year later side lites began to fog over, we called Shamrock and Jerry Moors same came to our home to inspect. Jerry completed inspection and then we were told there was a pin hole in lead that was used for the designed glass. We were told that since warranty had expired and it would cost us extra to repair. The warranty had expired only one year to date we called. Jerry told that if we completed the remainder of our the windows with Shamrock they would remove and repair side lites.pin hole in lead. This has to be the worst customer service we have ever received. My daughter had decided to replace her windows in her new home and I have already instructed her not to use Shamrock Window and Doors. I am a repeat customer of Shamrock. I would like to have one more additional window to be done this spring. I called five times and left the message every time to Larry or one female employee. Dan never in the office and he never even bather to reply the phone call. Three years ago still in deep recession, Dan was so happy to have my job and worked so hard. But now the economic recovered and he has decent reputation in Yelp. I am sure he is very busy now. He doesn't care about the new job anymore.
