Jenny is AWESOME- she does a careful beautiful job which holds up without chips for weeks. Recently I was at a wedding where I had a gel manicure. Today I came to get that gel manicure removed. I have had hideous experiences in this regard in the past, but the treatment at NJ Nails was beyond excellent. The most gentle gel removal I have ever experienced followed by a coat of nail strengthener. My nails have never felt better. Highly recommend.

Then I remember there is a nail salon on grant ave in novato - hawaiian nails. They have a big sign that says walk- ins welcome. I go in & there are no other customers. weird. So the whole time I'm trying to figure out WHY there are no customers. Figured it out: the place is kind of messy & depressing; the music in the background is elevator music; the 3 employees were like zombies-not nice, no smiles ,no talking. The pedicure was ok but i will not go back because it was so depressing there.

But what I love is that I can come in and get my nails done as a walk-in. I love that Crystal takes her time in doing my nails to get them done right. My nails lasted 3 weeks before I came back. This nail salon is beautiful, clean, and well kept. The ladies speak softly and get the job done w ............. Beauty Nails were too busy so I discovered Crystal Nails 3 and got an acrylic dip. My original acrylic nails weren't good anymore and my natural nails underneath were already separating. Crystal did a nice cuticle clean up job and my new acrylics with new tips look great. I think I'll be back to get my pedicures done here too.

My polish started coming off before the day was even over. I was at the salon a long time and there should have been enough time for the nails to dry. They don't use fan/heat machines so maybe that's what's wrong. The woman kept cutting my cuticles after I asked her not to. She was constantly squirting some type of lotion or soap on my toes for no apparent reason. The nails were filed incorrectly. I seriously wonder if there is professional training/licensing here.
