Every instructor is incredibly knowledgeable, easy to understand, and genuinely invested in helping you improve. I joined as a complete novice never having taken Pilates before and I felt so welcomed and at ease from the start. The instructors are extremely detailed and make the smallest adjustments while explaining movements so clearly. Proper form is such a priority here, which made me feel safe and supported throughout my entire pregnancy. I continued attending classes through pregnancy and attribute a lot of my quick and easy delivery to the classes I've been taking here. Now I'm continuing my postpartum journey with them and feel just as supported as ever. Such an amazing studio and community!

I've had such a beautiful experience with Move With Studio…read more I began with a private session, and it shifted the way I relate to movement in such a grounded, supportive way. There's a level of presence and care from the instructors that you can feel right away. You're guided with attention and intention, so you feel both safe and gently encouraged to expand. Moving into the group classes felt really natural. Each class meets me where I am while also inviting me forward. There's a quiet strength in the space. It's welcoming, thoughtfully held, and allows you to turn inward while still feeling connected. I've also been pairing the classes with FST sessions, and that combination has been incredibly supportive. The stretching helps release what the body has been holding, opens up mobility, and brings me back into a sense of balance. It's a space that genuinely supports your growth, not just physically, but as a whole. Whether you're just beginning or have an established practice, there's something here that meets you and helps you deepen.

Living in The Bay Area and at a yoga retreat center in Hawaii has exposed me to a wide range of celebrated instructors. But studying with Rosy has been one of the pivotal experiences in my life. When I joined an intensive series in which she teaches Primal Core yoga, I was healing from a major back injury and surgery. It was almost like starting yoga from scratch to practice post surgery. Rosy always approached me with care and helped modify poses to make them appropriate for me. I was inspired to explore the boundaries of my body within the safe container of her class. After a couple months I found myself able to get into a full wheel pose! A full back bend was impossible at the beginning of the series. Rosy's compassionate but firm teaching style is a wonderful way to challenge yourself from a place of love in order to find your true strength. Approaching the body as Rosy instructs facilitated major healing in my body, my heart and my mind. Warning! Beware of the Transformational Power Breath if you want to stay in the same ruts you have been in. If you are ready to bring about positive changes in your life, come take class with Rosy. You will sweat, breath deeply, stretch, strengthen, laugh, meditate, release and maybe even shed a tear.

Because I am pretty picky, I wasn't sure I'd be into it, but 6 years of knee pain made me willing to try. Rosy taught me some ways to work with the alignment of my feet, knees and hips that I'd never seen before, even after working with 3 different physical therapists in the past. At one point, my knee started hurting, and she was able to simply and quickly move my leg around and get my joints back in sync. Rosy's style is so warm, compassionate and accepting, I felt really good in her presence and inspired to get stronger. Now I am back on track with exercise and credit this change in large part to Rosy. If only I could get myself to wake up early, I would try her boot camp for sure!

I cannot express what a wonderful space HEAL is for all…read more First off, the studio has such kind and knowledgeable instructors who create dynamic classes, and provide a well-balanced practice. The studio itself is such a warm and welcoming space that allows for an immersive experience! The small class size is another wonderful aspect of the studio, making each session feel personal! I always feel well-supported by instructors and feel so in tune with my body both during and after each session. HEAL's health and safety policies add to the space and make me feel comfortable when practicing, and able to enjoy classes without any worries! I really appreciate the conscious, clean space! I look forward to coming to class each week and highly recommend this studio to all!

The instructor was friendly, asked if i had any injuries she should know about. I did some footwork on the reformer, used a ball between my knees, did some movements with the handles and magic circle. It was a brain and body coordination workout that I wasnt used to. Did a couple variations of leg circles changing the positon of my feet. The instructor did do some hands in corrections. It was a nice workout to get in while on vacation.

The five stars are so well deserved!…read more My friend frequents with Plank + Power so I decided to purchase a single course. I took the course with Coach Liz who is seriously such an incredible instructor. I really appreciated that she took some time to help me understand the reformers, and covered a few things we'd work on before course started. This was helpful as I had a strain that I was recovering from. It was enough to pull through a class that I so desperately needed because *mental wellness* is important! I really enjoyed her workout because it was a total body workout, but there was an emphasis on arms which I REALLY loved. Other classes I have of course have arm workouts incorporated with lunges and such, but she was able to do that AND have just a focal point on arms. It was a GREAT work out! Her enthusiasm in the class is so infectious and the class community was warm. Forgive me as the desk attendants name, but she was also very courteous and helpful. What a wonderful person to greet students in. Plank + Power is very lucky to have a great team. I would encourage anyone who wants a solid workout to try it out here. I hope to be back whenever my schedule allows!

Now that I've progressed to around V4 and visited other gyms (Benchmark, a few Touchstone locations), I've been really appreciating just how creative the routesetting is at Bridges. If you like the puzzle aspect of bouldering and lots of interesting and satisfying coordinated movement, you'll definitely love it here. They set a couple new walls every week, so you'll never run out of projects. There's a huge cave that's basically parallel to the mats, a chimney, a dedicated slab corner, a rotating wall of competition-style climbs, and a separate front room for beginner climbing. They also have a well-stocked weight room, cardio equipment, saunas, an upstairs lounge area, free beer and hop water after you're done climbing (!!!), yummy snacks for sale, and great yoga, climbing and fitness classes. There's also a few partner gyms that offer free monthly day passes for Bridges members, though I haven't checked any of them out yet. The biggest highlight is that the community at Bridges is AMAZING and so supportive, no matter what grade of problems you're working on. I was too intimidated to even work out in a regular gym before this, but everyone I interacted with at Bridges was very encouraging and made me feel welcome, and now I see friends and have people to climb with almost every time I go. The front desk staff are super friendly and fun to chat with (S/O especially to Anni and Star), and as a queer person it's great to feel represented there. I do wish the mats were a bit softer, as it's a little too easy to tweak an ankle if you don't fall with ideal form--but that's literally my only complaint. Seriously, if you live near El Cerrito and are interested in bouldering, this is the place!!

Over the years she has taught me body awareness that I have taken with me into my daily life. She has helped me build strength that translates not just to my muscles but also my body frame and frame of mind. I've leaned an incredible amount about all of the systems of my body and how to care and nurture my health. Her work has helped me to connect with myself, learn about myself and pushed me to be the best version of myself. I have mild scoliosis and some neck injuries, her method of Pilates and Yoga has transformed my quality of life and my body patterns. She always meets me where I am, offering me the most appropriate work, structure and focus I might need on a particular day. She also works to push me out of my comfort zone to maximize the work we do, never pushing me farther than I need. She is a blessing, especially during covid when so much of life was unmanageable. She is always there to support me and my body work needs. This work has been the single most impactful investment I have made and I highly recommend Shannon, who brings decades of continuing education and passion for recovery to her practice.
