I've been going to Move With Studio since 2024 and truly can't recommend it enough. The classes are small and intimate, which makes such a difference in the overall experience and level of attention you receive. Every instructor is incredibly knowledgeable, easy to understand, and genuinely invested in helping you improve. I joined as a complete novice never having taken Pilates before and I felt so welcomed and at ease from the start. The instructors are extremely detailed and make the smallest adjustments while explaining movements so clearly. Proper form is such a priority here, which made me feel safe and supported throughout my entire pregnancy. I continued attending classes through pregnancy and attribute a lot of my quick and easy delivery to the classes I've been taking here. I have been consistently going to Move With for 18 months and can't give enough praise for the studio. The classes are small, which mean the instructors can really give individuals the attention they need - everything from modifying movements due to injury or small adjustments to make movements more effective. The studio is well-lit, classes intentionally paced, and it's a great community. I will note that I have been to SolidCore and Club Pilates - I find those classes to be loud, impersonal, and it's easier to lose the intention of each movement. I love Move With Studio! I've been going to group reformer pilates classes there weekly for the past 5 years. The group classes are smallish -- only 7 reformers total -- so you get individual attention. There's a great variety of instructors, class formats and levels on the schedule. All of the instructors are well-trained, very experienced, and sensitive to students' differing abilities. They offer modifications for each exercise, so everyone can work at their own pace. Each instructor has a different style and changes up the class exercises every week, so it never gets repetitive or boring, and keeps me coming back for more! I am a very dissatisfied customer. I did 4 private lessons with Miriam and 2 classes at this studio. Prices are very high. Service does not correspond. I purchased a package of 3 private lessons after doing my first private lesson. And I purchased and took 2 classes. I was forced to forfeit one of my private lessons - $100- because a few hours before I had to cancel due to an unexpected allergy attack. No exceptions to their cancellation policy for illness. Inhumane. Also the studio is small and there are not many classes offered. I cannot recommend and I will not return. Your business is profiting when someone gets ill and cannot make the class and your policy is to forfeit the entire price of a private lesson. Extreme. And that does not encourage wellness. read more

I have been a solid client of MWS since they opened. I actually followed Kelsey from her previous studio and I make it a point to see her weekly. The studio space is laid out well, plenty of Allegro 2 reformers for classes, a Cadillac, arcs, etc. I come for private sessions to help rehab all my physical issues and Kelsey can usually get me back and going in the same day. She's even managed to help me when I'm working remotely and have a back twinge or issue come up. I also highly recommend trying FST. It's a form of non-active stretching. It's relaxing and helps get the fascia "moving" in the body so to speak. Try a class or a session!! All the instructors are great at this location and you'll fall in love with Pilates. read more

Move With Studio has been my rock in the past years! With all the craziness of the pandemic years being able to stay strong is a great constant. Move With did an amazing job of pivoting to an online platform and prioritizing the health and safety of their students during the pandemic. I'm a huge devotee of classes with Joanna and Kelsey and they are both truly excellent teachers. The classes are challenging but fun and there's a lovely sense of community at the studio. A few years ago I had my first kid in my 40s and I strongly credit my easy pregnancy, delivery, and recovery to working out with Joanna. She is incredibly adept at helping folks modify as needed. Her communication skills are the best I've experienced - there are so many physical cues in pilates and the ability to be clear with folks is a great asset for a Pilates teacher. From my first visit I was hooked. This studio is in a great location near BART and right off the freeway, and they have free parking. Their classes accommodate all levels, and they offer a good variety of classes/class times. The classes are small enough that you feel like it's a private session, but large enough it feels like a group workout. All of their teachers are great and they are supper attentive. I've been driving by Fitwise for years. I was always curious but too intimated to try a class. My image of people who do Pilates is uber fit people who look like ballet dancers and subsist on green juice, broth and organic tofu. A friend gave me some private sessions as a gift and I first wondered how much I could sell the gift certs for on Craigslist. Then, I pushed my fear aside and made an appointment for a private class. From the moment I walked in for my session, Josselyn was kind and welcoming. She asked me about injuries, trouble spots, goals and then we got right to work. After my first session I was hooked on Pilates. Its not nearly as scary as I thought it would be. In fact, its not scary at all! The equipment looks confusing but she quickly and easily explained what to do and how to do it. After two private sessions I took a group class. I was thrilled to see the class wasn't full of hard body snobs. Just regular people interested in a good workout. I've signed up for more private and group classes. I've tried yoga over the years and always wanted to love it. But I didn't. I love Pilates in the way I'd always hoped to love yoga. Josselyn is an excellent teacher. She had a great understand of physiology and can tell you in simple terms what to do, how to do it and what its doing to/for your body. Ronda is a superstar! I've been going to FitWise Pilates for weekly private sessions for a little over 3 months. This is my very first experience with Pilates and I love it! Ronda is one of those rare people with a true gift for healing. Not only am I out of shape, significantly overweight, and disinclined to exercise - I've got crushed disks in my back and foot problems. Ronda tailors my regimen to allow me to get a good work out without putting any strain on my injured bits. She's an excellent motivator and full of great tips and advice about general wellness. I LOVE Fitwise Pilates. So much so that I wake up earlier than I'd prefer on Saturday mornings to attend the 8:30 am class. I am car-free so I have to catch the bus, which means I have to be up by 7:30 latest. After my Saturday morning class, I feel like a jock because I got up and started my day early with some physical activity that challenged and strengthened me. What I love about Fitwise: *The trainers. I've had most of my classes with Ronda and Stephanie. Both are fabulous. Kind, knowledgeable, fun. And fit! *The reformers. I'd only taken a few mat classes before (elsewhere) and those were good but they do not even compete with the machines. I love that I feel safe and supported on the equipment while I'm being challenged to strengthen, rehabilitate, and balance my body using the resistance of my own body weight. It's been amazing to really feel the difference in strength and flexibility between my left and right legs and arms. *The exercises. There are so many different variations and modifications on the reformers. They are challenging--at times humbling--and make me think--how to do them correctly, how to move and align my body in an intentional and effective manner--and how to make those connections between my body and mind. So really the pilates class requires physical and mental activity. I'm learning about myself. *Great deal. I bought the 20-class pass. The Yelp deal for first time clients is also a great way to meet Ronda for the first consultation. She actually requires that you do a one-on-one consultation with her before you take her classes so she knows your body and what to be aware of during classes for modifications. She and her trainers customize the class according to the student make up and needs. You have to preregister for classes because of the limited size. *Small class size. Personalized instruction and attention. *Salvador. Yes, Ronda's pooch is a sweetheart. She brings him to class sometimes and he knows I'm a sucker for some puppy energy. Need I say more? read more

Where do I begin? Rhonda is just an amazing Pilates instructor. I started classes about a year ago. I'm over 50, over weight, had a knee that was in such bad shape that it was ruining my life and Rhonda was kind enough to deal with all my issues. She tailors work outs to each individual even in a class setting. She never makes you feel bad about being out of shape or not being able to complete every exercise. If I can't do an exercise because of my knee, she gives me something else or a work around. I had knee surgery 6 months ago and I know I've healed more quickly because of her work with me. She is patient, she really cares about the well being of her students and she has an amazing network of practitioners that she can refer you to. She actually introduced me to my knee surgeon and I think he's probably the best in the area. If you're thinking of giving Pilates a try, she is a great first instructor. If you've taken Pilates in the past, she works with all levels. One thing I love is that each class is different and challenging. I am addicted to Pilates at Fitwise!!! Ronda gets me to use muscles that I did not know were even available to me. This was shocking and humbling to me initially as I have been doing Pilates faithfully for over a year in the area( in other studios in El Cerrito and Berkeley) and never have I been guided through the exercises with such precision, yet without overwhelming me. I can follow the classes easily, although they really challenge me, I leave feeling taller and younger. I spend my days at a computer, in meetings or flying. You can say I really need Pilates. Ronda explained how I would benefit from a more contemporary approach to "reversing my computer posture". In 2 months I have no pain in my hips and lower back, I have lost weight and my awareness helps me to stop slumping. Ronda even helped me to create an On The Go routine when I am away from the studio traveling. The Studio: Very zen, immaculately clean( OCD clean), has more equipment and props than I have ever seen in any studio. This is a real community. Ronda has a list of RINGER referrals. I found my chiropractor, massage therapist, orthodontist and bookkeeper through her referral list( all top notch). My classmates are really great. I think I speak for all when I say we feel very cared for. The Instructors: Michelle and Stephanie, Josselyn and Jessica are hands down the best in the bay. I don't know how they do it, but they manage to treat each class as if it were a private session. EVERYONE gets attention. I am up to three classes per week and enjoy each of the instructors style.They are kind, fun and always encouraging. They actual communicate with each other about us each week. When I have difficulty with a move or body part, my next class the instructor( which is often different from the last class as I come 3x per week) will ask me specifically about it.
