I figured I'm due for a visit, with my Free Brunch of Lunch email. And, It's exactly what I remembered, save for a few differences. Differences- The fried & baked chicken pieces were tiny. I've noticed this trend at fast food chicken shops, as well. For this scenario, it's good for the bottom line, as the small pieces of chicken in buffet prevents wasted food. The buffet had enchiladas. I don't recall Shakey's Bunch of Lunch having enchiladas, before. The enchiladas were standard fare, w/ a meager amount of cheese. But, after kicking them up a notch at the salad bar, with olives, mushrooms & other fixins', quite good. Expected- The mojo potatoes were so good. I used the brown gravy as dipping sauce, since I stay away from HFCS ketchup. I must've had 3-4 whole potatoes worth of mojos. In regards to the pizza, I only had a couple slices of the Garden Veggie, as I'm not that much into pizza, anymore. The salad bar was typical of most salad bars. I did end my meal with oranges, sliced peaches & Jello to sweeten my tastebuds. Service was good. The staff were friendly. I find it a bit of a hassle, but new plates have to be requested from a staff member, instead of having plates available. I'm assuming it's to keep non-Bunch of Lunch customers from taking advantage. Carb overload is okay for 1 day, I suppose. The mojo potatoes were great, and stuffed me like a Snoopy doll. I enjoyed my power lunch of gluttony, but am unsure whether I want to return to the carnage next year. But, I didn't leave hungry, and I relived old memories from yesteryear. read more

The fam and I eat brunch or late lunches here occasionally on the weekends. Buncha Lunch is a winner! My mom is a fan of the spaghetti. The hubby and I are into the mojo potatoes. I also like the baked chicken which is highly recommended by the med tech at my mom's place. Of course, the variety of pizzas are good! When my nephews were here visiting, they had a couple of plates of pizza and other items. We are usually able to find a disability parking spot as we have a wheelchair for my mom to get in and out of our vehicle. Once in a while those spots are all taken and we have to drop off my mom and get her to a table while one of us looks for a regular spot to park in. The folks working have consistently been pleasant. They do need to check on the ladies room as it has looked neglected sometimes. There are a couple of TVs to watch the local games. Our fam will be back again. :) read more

I was shocked how much I loved the pizza. The last few times I've tried Shakey's delivery the pizza was very disappointing (from other locations). I hadn't had Shakey's for years because of it. I was invited to this sit down at this location and I was reluctant but I wanted to be a part of the function I was invited to. Big big surprise. I LOVED the pizza. It was so tasty! All the ingredients were fresh and the meatballs were Bursting with flavor. I was annoyed that I ordered a pepperoni with half mushroom on one side and we got ONE mushroom. ONE. I'm not exaggerating. I should have take a picture. I didn't make it known to a staff because I think I was tired and had a "whatever" mentality. Aside from that weird single mushroom situation ... the pizza was excellent. Mojos were pillowy soft on the inside. The salad bar was great. It's an average salad bar and I enjoyed that too. The Thousand island dressing was great. The fountain machine was serviced well because the soda was nice and fizzy with fresh syrup for the sprite I got. The cashier lady taking the order was nice and patient while we went over the menu. The guy that brought us our food and serviced us was cool as well. I'm am SHOCKED I liked this place so much. I had a pickup order for a PCM for one. My order was very simple just cheese and pineapple on a personal pizza. My order was ready in a timely fashion but when I get home, my pizza looks terrible. Not only is it overcooked but where is the cheese? There is more pineapple than cheese. I see more bread than cheese. This is completely disappointing. I'm going to a different Shakey's next time because I definitely expect cheese on my pizza and not just cheese for one bite per slice. I had a birthday party here and totally have mixed feelings about this place. I don't like that you can't make party reservations during bunch of lunch hours. I wanted to place my order ahead of time and was told I had to wait for the day of. I spent close to $400 on pizza and games. It would've been nice to have a reserved table. Luckily we found the last spot in the corner to sit everyone and took over the tables as people left the area. Whoever made the chicken and mojos today you are my favorite. Chicken was crispy and moist. The mojos were perfectly cooked. The young African American lady who helped us get settled was super sweet and professional. She offered to put my cupcakes in the fridge for me. That was so nice. She also made sure we were done before clearing the table. Only gripe was one pizza was cooked a little too long but hey, it happens. While we were saying goodbye to everyone we noticed a big fat roach on the way out. So overall this is my go-to Shakey's location but there is one manager who needs to tone it down a bit. Whenever we go to this location it is always clean. The cashiers and most of the workers are nice except for this one manager. I hope to get his name next time, but he always seems to have an attitude. Durning bunch of lunch sometimes they don't have the specific pizza you want, and you can always request it but every time me or anyone in my party makes a request, he always seems so annoyed. What's worse is I have seen him give attitude and argue with his fellow workers. This is really unprofessional. I will say I went about a month ago and did not see him so maybe he got replaced or just wasn't in this day. Again, for food and cleanliness this place is a 5/5. I would even say most of the workers are 5/5 just that one employee that I mentioned. read more

I visited the business today and it was an excellent visit! The Young man at the counter was very respectful and professional and had excellent customer service very friendly. There was also a young man on the floor attending to the customer's needs and keeping the dining area in order. He too was very attentive respectful kind and wonderful customer service. The kitchen staff and a young lady replenishing the salad bar also possess the same amazing friendly customer service. Lastly I did speak with the manager to compliment the location and the team he has. The manager was very appreciative and the clear evidence as to why his staff is so approachable an interested in the needs of the customers. I commend the team and I'm appreciative for the experience that my family and I had today. Sadly customer service is the dying trait but not at this location. read more

I just had a party for my 12 year old daughter at the Norwalk Shakey's. I made sure to book my party a few weeks in advance. I stopped in with questions before the party. Staff were very helpful and provided me options and allowed me to pick seating area. The two employees that helped (Matthew and Javier) to clear plates and deliver food to the table were wonderful! I was waiting for an order that my husband had placed over the phone and not only did i have to wait even longer when i got there, I also saw the same young man I had an unpleasant experience with, Adrian, just eating food while peaking around the corner and goofing around while on the clock...how unprofessional! He appears to be a manager but i did not see him wearing a hairnet and the unprofessionalism is big at this Norwalk location.
