My second time here I did my order online, I had a Sunday deal to use. I had parked at the parking garage next to dough zone. It goes 5 stories up. I got there early so just found a spot to just post and sit and scroll. When my pick up time window was near, I went to the pick up area, had some water, and looked if my name was on a bag but didn't see it when it was 2 minutes after my pick up time an employee asked me if I needed assistance. I mentioned I have a pick up order I did online, she looked then looked at the screen after grabbing things setting them in the bag she handed me my order. I noticed later I received a text 3 minutes after my pickup time. They are usually always busy and they have more seats upstairs where the restrooms are. There are street parking if you're lucky or the parking garage I mentioned where the first hour is free. I remember the Sacramento location's fries were still so good when we brought it home from a long drive but the Walnut Creek location didn't give me that feel in taste. I did still enjoy every bit of it as I ate half and ate the leftovers the next day still delicious to eat. Hopefully shake shack comes closer to me soon

The irony of bragging on the side of your bag saying you ditched your fine dining tablecloths, but kept the service. I ordered at a kiosk, grabbed a water cup, waited 10 minutes including 5 watching my order sit at the counter. Got fed up just went and grabbed it (no one bothered to yell out my number). Sandwich was super crispy which I liked. Pickled are very solid. Sauce lacked any real flavor, bread is solid. Overall it's a meh sandwich. The place itself feels like a prison more than a restaurant. I'd never want to eat here. Sandwich costs $11 which is far more than a CFA spicy and way less tasty. Sandwich 4.3/10 Service: 0.0 Ambiance: 0.0

Service - super friendly; probably the best service I encountered since they opened. Parking - your best bet is the parking garage across the street Food disappointing Big Shack - as a hefty burger, not bad, but the sauce falls short of being flavorful or comparable to those from other establishments. Bread can get soggy even though it was toasted, which is not a pleasant mouth feel Chicken avocado - this was an utter mess of a sandwich. A ton of soggy crust with little chicken. Not the fault of the staff, but a failing of the company as a whole Definitely NOT a do over. Onion rings - don't even bother. Lacking any flavor or seasoning. Avoid!

One downside to this location is you have to pay for parking. I found a tiny parking lot next to it with meters. One quarter only gets u like 4 min. So I ordered to go because I only had 21 min on the meter. It can be a crowded area with lots of people walking around. The place seemed kind of dirty and when I came in around lunch. very few of the tables looked clean. Even the number I picked up after ordering in the kiosk was kind of gross and greasy. The chicken nuggets had too much breading so my daughter didn't like it. The fries and cheese sauce were yummy as always. My husband and I ordered a double shackburger because we don't normally get full with a single patty. The double was just right. Their cheese and meat together is a magical combination. This is why I love it so much. The lady who delivered our food was friendly. I would go back to shake shack but not this particular location.

Overall great taste to burgers, fries, and shakes. Premium price tags on fries and shakes so value is subpar. Nice setup with extra dining on 2nd level. Staff was extremely nice and helpful.

Raw meat, despite ordering well done.

I asked for well done for all my burgers. I checked and they looked well done. I gave them to my young children. Half way through, I saw some parts were completely raw. Their tummy's hurt. I regret trusting them with our dinner.

Typical shake shack experience here. Ordered at the kiosk and dined in. Place is clean and food came out in a timely manner. Went for the their Dubai chocolate shake since they only have a limited amount each day. And decided to try their summer menu items. Overall, food is good and place is clean. Like with every other shake shack, it is on the pricey side.

Meh I found the burger dry. K chicken bites were good. Ranch was not good to me unfortunately. Shack sauce was decent. Service was a little slow but very friendly plus they apologized for the wait and my order was correct. Restaurant was half full. Pricing was extremely high and not worth the value in my opinion. Personally I won't be back. For those that love it, keep on enjoying!

Met up with fellow Black Badge elite Harvey K. to try Shake Shack Walnut Creek. Great location in downtown WC on the corner of Locust and Mt. Diablo Blvd. No drive thru or parking lot only street parking or public lots. The restaurant has two floors. Fast food setting and decor. Order on kiosks. 2 double cheeseburgers with bacon 2 milk shakes 2 regular fries $56+ before tip The burgers were normal sized beef patties were tender and not over worked. Fries and shakes were good. When did fast food double cheeseburger meals become $56? Oh well sign of the times. Bus your own trays. Limited in person interaction.

Joce J.

The $13-$16 hamburger was a major disappointment, with a teensy bun and a mediocre patty that seemed to be having a bad hair day. The table were sticky and mysteriously absent staff didn't exactly win any awards. I had to ask them to wipe our tables six one of the female staff did. While the restaurant's design was a work of art, the overall experience was a hot mess of bad service and quality control that was MIA.

Spicy Cheese Fries with Ranch

The food is not worth the price! It definitely looks good but the cheese on the fries got cold in 30 seconds. The fries weren't filled up completely and I paid almost 7$ for this. The burger had a hair on it and it was just your average burger... again not worth the 11$ I paid for it. I would recommend going somewhere else or just getting a shake from here. Save your money and your appetite and go to one of the other many places in downtown Walnut Creek. The food took about 15-20 minutes and the worker who dropped it off was nice however it sucks that she has to walk around the whole building looking for the number that we pulled when ordering from the self order kiosk. They should switch to a buzzer system instead. 4/10 wouldn't recommend

Tonight the family and I wanted to support a school's Dine & Donate so we decided to eat here for dinner. While looking for a table we were reminded why we stopped coming here to eat. See photos. It shouldn't really matter where the restaurant is located but in this case they are in Walnut Creek but it feels like we are not. Their locations in New York and New Jersey are nice and clean. Shake Shack can definitely do better.

Gluten free double patty and banana pudding shake for my husband.
Nicolette C.

We were waiting for a shake shack to come to our area. I had no idea there was one in Walnut Creek until I was driving around looking for a good lunch spot for my husband and I. The burgers are really salty and you basically need a shake to finish your meal. You need the sweet and salty combo. The speciality shakes all had a form of gluten in them so I couldn't try them. My husband really enjoy the banana pudding shake we ordered. The burgers were good just on the salty side. I was surprised they had the option for a gluten free bun and even lettuce wrap. Most gluten free restaurant bread is terrible but their gluten free buns was great. The restaurant was very clean and employees were constantly cleaning up.

Moved out here recently and just happened to stumble upon the name and immediately had to get my hands in this burger. It did not disappoint! It's so hard to find a tasty veggie burger that's not dried out with a nasty after taste. This my friends, is an absolute MUST!! The quinoa and brown rice are cooked to perfection and for the most part, the patty keeps it shape. Plus the outside is just slightly crispy, giving the patty a good crunch! This paired with their side salad was enough to satisfy my decades long craving!! As always, this place has plenty of seating inside and out. I usually order the cod sandwich, and they assured me that it's not cooked in tallow, actually they said it's cooked in olive oil which I'm not sure is correct, but at any rate I didn't taste any beef fat and it was delicious. Also, I have enjoyed their shakes made with cashew milk in the past, but now they use something different, and they still taste pretty good. What the employees on duty told me conflicts with the website, but they said this location uses Oatley oat milk, and they actually showed me the carton to prove it. Now for the service, the man taking my order seemed new as he didn't know much, but was able to answer my questions by asking the manager on duty, which I appreciated. Also he got my shake order wrong but apologized multiple times and got me the correct one. Since I couldn't order fries or onion rings I wanted a side salad, but unfortunately they were out of it! So a questionable experience overall, and I may choose to dine somewhere different next time as there are many restaurants in this strip-mall location, plus Whole Foods across the street. As far as ambiance, they have ample indoor seating and a nice outdoor patio with music, which is partly sunshine, partly shade, and of course popular with dogs and their owners.

There's outdoor seating if you want it, and they take Apple Pay, which is handy. The drink selection is better than you'd expect for a burger place. Decent beer list plus a few whites and reds, so it works for a casual dinner too, not only a quick lunch. Nothing here blew me away enough for five stars, but nothing went wrong either. Cons - No employee approached a male dog owner over his pit bull excessively howling / yelping over another dog. A couple yelps, fine. It kept going, it was loud, the silver-haired Boomer was taking his sweet time to ( not ) control his dog with respect to other people in the patio area. So, dogs are preferred over people, no one on staff to politely ask the man to control the dog immediately? One more thing: the barking was such a nuisance that I and another customer were looking back at the owner to see if he was taking care of it, the customer quipped about the dog going to be attacking him, if anything, I joked that I'd be fine, he then suddenly held up the numbered signage for his order ( w/ metal stand ) saying he was going to hit me with it. ( No light-hearted tone, moreso irritated and aggressive. ) And this is how suddenly bad things happen, how a customer spews out a verbal threat ( technically criminal assault ), linked to an out-of-control situation with a pet owner and his dog and a restaurant that won't do anything about it. Simple Solution: Train employees ( or remind them ) to assertively and cordially request owners to keep their dogs peaceful and quiet. Otherwise, it's sweeping a problem under the rug. Not smart nor respectful of other customers. Being Fair: If you like the energy of a loud restaurant, whether it's music and/or dogs barking, then you should be fine, drinks and all. If you love dogs, yet want them responsibly controlled in an environment where you seek to maintain an actual meaningful conversation, this establishment is a roll of the dice.
