Solid spot for fast food burgers, albeit on the pricier side. Their burgers are pretty good, and they use smashed style beef patties - not the filler-full stuff you get at a typical fast food chain. We tried a few items from their Korean inspired menu: gochujang chicken bites & the Korean BBQ burger. The chicken bites were a pass. They were super crispy, but not really that spicy (more sweet), kind of dry, and not something I'd go for again. The Korean BBQ burger was better, and I really liked the combination of the sauce, crispy onions, and potato bun (though I still can't really tell what made it more potato-ey than a regular bun?)
Had the Pizzeria Badiali Collab. Pizza fries: The pizza powder really tastes like pizza but it was not evenly applied. It seemed sprinkled on top instead of shaken with the fries. The sauce was creamy & really captured the flavour of peperoncino. The chicken sandwich was pretty spicy, with juicy & firm hot peppers. The chicken was big & mostly juicy enough, though the final bite was on the dry side. The mozzarella cheese did not melt well. The spiciness meant I couldn't taste the vodka sauce, but the fresh basil was nice.
Tried the Shake Shack in Union Station. There was a long lineup to order on the kiosk. This establishment is cashless credit or debit. The burgers were good and nice charred edges and thick slices of bacon. We enjoyed the burgers and the crinkle cut fries were also good. Price wise I would say this would be on the higher spectrum of fast-food burger joint. If you are heading downtown and have some time to grab a bite, definitely give them a try.
Just had dinner here and had a great overall experience. It's on the higher end with regard to price point, but the burgers and fries are pretty tasty. I had the original burger and added onions and pickles. It would definitely be one of my favourite smash burgers in the city. The fries were quite good as well. Not too salty and they were perfectly crisp. For a Sunday night, the place was packed, but we managed to get a table for the four of us. There are a lot of kiosks where you can order with their tablet so it makes the whole ordering process efficient. At the entrance, there's a host who keeps the line moving by directing patrons to available kiosks. This location also has a bar so it's a nice addition to a juicy burger. What really stood out was the service here! I was here with my baby and toddler. The staff were extremely helpful in bringing me a high chair and helping us to put tables together to accommodate us. Drink refills came often as well. My baby has started throwing food on the floor for fun so it was quite the sight. The staff were so understanding and assured me that they would clean up so I had nothing to worry about. Good for: burgers, fries, drinks
To order it's a self serve pad and you take a buzzer and input the buzzer number. It will buzz when your order is ready. The cleaning staff were excellent. They wiped tables diligently, took trays, and even got drink refill. The Burger was small. Taste was Ok Fries - nothing special Cheese sauce - taste fake. Processed. Bbq burger - ok. Lemonade- good
Had a pregame lunch w/ my dad and bro here before a sunday afternoon jays game. Very nice seating and bar located within Union Station. We sat along the wall. There were other diners also eating pregame lunches and headed to the game as well. Burger quality is the same as the one at Yonge-Dundas Square. Very good crisp on the patties. I tried a bit of my bro's shack stack for the first time (the fried mushroom was interesting). We shared an order of the limited time south carolina bbq fries which tbh were much better than the ones at Yonge-Dundas (which undercooks their fries ALL the time). These ones were actually kinda crispy and the topped generously. My one gripe is that they weren't seasoned though and tasted kinda bland which is why the toppings were necessary. Much smaller but nicer location than the Yonge-Dundas Square one. The one nitpick about the Shake Shack locations is the lineups for the single stall washrooms. They only have like 3 washrooms each and there's always a lineup to use em.
Shake Shack is the fine dining of fast food! It never fails to disappoint and neither did this fast paced location located inside Union Station! The staff was so kind, they made ordering very easy. Now when it comes to the food, it always hits! I decided to give the Smoke Shack burger a try an wow was it amazing. Those chopped cherry peppers really gives it that burst a flavour. Got it with a side of their fries which always is the best. Always have good things to say about this store! 9.5/10 recommend!
Food is in par with what I would get in the States. The nuggets, burger and fries were all fresh. It was busy around 1pm on a Sunday. I was able to find a table for two. Their system to order, pay, and wait with a buzzer seems pretty seamless. Lots of staff around to help as well. The space is nicely decorated and very modern. There is only one unisex restroom stall which had a long line.
Came here before a concert to enjoy a nice meal with friends. Line to order wasn't too long and the wait for food was actually not as long as you would think it would be. The staff working were very efficient with cooking and handing out the orders. It was super busy but went much smoother than anticipated.. so definitely coming back!
Been a while since the chain started opening up in Toronto, and I finally got to try. Ordered a shackburger, fries, and a soda. It came up to $18 something after tax, which isn't too bad when you think about McDonald's prices nowadays. Free refills for soda, so get a small. When I received my order, I was a bit surprised by how small the burger seemed. Was it always this small? Feel like it was bigger in the US, but it's been a while so... It was quite tasty and filling though! Solid burger. Fries were just fries, nothing special. Ordering and picking up was very efficient, and the store was spotless, with plenty of well-lighted seats. Solid fast food choice at Union. And I had zero service expectations, but there were some staff members continuously going around, cleaning up tables and helping with drink refills. Pleasantly surprised.
A tasty burger shack elevated by its service into a burger castle. On a Wednesday evening when all the GO trains were delayed, I decided to spend my time with the Smokey classic BBQ burger and a side of fries. The burger was sauced a lot, it made a mess but that was part of the whole delicious experience. The fries were crispy, well portioned and seasoned beautifully. I also liked the design of the bar but ate in the dining room. What I really appreciated was the excellent service all the way through the experience. From the person controlling the large lineup, to the staff cleaning up the dining room quickly to flip tables. Everyone was working hard and it didn't go unnoticed. Shake Shack is a welcomed addition to Toronto and I can't wait to go back!
When I heard that the new Union Station Shake Shack was serving their own version of a margarita, I knew I had to check it out at some point. After a couple of thwarted attempts, I finally managed to show up when the line wasn't completely out of control. I went ahead and ordered the Spicy Shackarita (of course) and the plain ShackBurger ("Angus beef cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, and ShackSauce on a toasted potato bun"). It took a pretty long time for my order to be ready, but I was sitting at the bar so it wasn't too much of an issue. Sadly, the Spicy Shackarita wasn't great. Margaritas are one of my favorite alcoholic beverages, because I love that mix of the sweet and the sour. But this drink was just sour, almost to the point of being bitter. I finished it but I definitely didn't enjoy it. Thankfully the burger was top notch. The patty had that delectable crust for which Shake Shack has become known, and the other components all complement it really well. It's entirely excellent burger. I doubt I'll ever order another cocktail from Shake Shack, but you can be sure I'll return time and again for that sublime hamburger.
Decided to finally try this out as it opened near my work. Went there at around noon on a Wednesday and ordered two burgers. The wait was about 20 minutes and the inside seating was packed. You can tell there was a lot of detail put into the interior designs. The burgers (especially the one with the mushroom inside it) was delicious and extremely juicy. The size of the burger was decent, as it was not possible to use one hand to eat. The ingredients tasted fresh and it was not as oily as I had thought it would be. The price for the burger seems a bit high but having tasted it, it is worth every penny. I highly enjoyed it and will come back again to try the rest of the menu!
There's In-N-Out, and then there's Shake Shack. The former is a bastion of the US West Coast, and they like it animal style. Hmmmm..... I'll leave that to your imagination. I guess you need to do In-N-Out repeatedly to get the effect. Yeah, I've done the In-N-Out thing already. The latter appears to imply that the shack will be shaking if you like it that much. No animal style required. There were huge crowds at this location. I can only assume the people wanted to get the shack shaking, and now I've done this, in a public space. It's pretty decent for a fast food place. Smash burgers a-la fast food. Arguably, this may be the best fast food burger I've had. You're paying a bit of a premium, and I notice the burgers are a tad on the small size. So does size matter to you? Taste? There was no pineapple juice nearby. read more
Came in to try the Korean chicken sandwich and it was much better than expected. I was worried it would have too much sweet sauce but it was an appropriate controlled amount. Chicken was a touch small but delicious and not dry. Wouldn't say juicy but definitely not dry. I got my as a lettuce wrap to be healthier. Service was decently fast and I was here at 1:30pm on a Friday. read more
Tried Shake Shack's new limited edition korean gochujang chicken bites and fries. I got the 10 piece for $12.99 but they also had the 6 piece for $8.99? Got some kimchi spice fries, which came with a side of gochujang mayo. The wait was about 20 mins even past 1pm, so if you're hungry, order ahead of time because service was sooo slow. By the time they gave me my bag, gochujang sauce was all over it. The chicken bites were juicy and lots of flavour but definitely messy to eat. The fries didn't have much flavour because they just sprinkled kimchi spice on it. The dining area was clean, so that was a plus. read more

Ordered through the kiosk and Got an half & half (lemonade & tea) and it was quite sour. I've got other lemonade drinks from shake shack in USA before and they weren't this sour. Got the order pretty quickly, service was just okay and the shop was pretty aesthetic. read more

This Shake Shack is a terrific addition to Union Station! The lines are a bit odd, and causes confusion, but thankfully they were very well staffed and had people directing traffic flow. As with their other Toronto location, there are digital ticketing boards to show orders; and they use buzzers to let you know by sound, vibration and light that your order is ready for pick-up at the counter! Very handy. Their kitchen is fast. Even in a queue, the orders move quickly. At this location there's a dedicated bar area -- great for long distance commuters. Considering a restaurant within a train station, it actually has a large square footage with lots of tables! They also have locked/private washrooms for guests. Food here is solid and consistent. It's the chain you know from the US, but even better because it's made with 100% Canadian beef. read more
Good overall. PROS: Cool decor and bar environment; Clean; Efficient Kiosk and Buzzer systems; Friendly and available service; Food and Drink were good overall; Toronto specific menu items! I especially liked the Butter Tart Custard; Fries were not dry like other Shake Shacks. CONS / AREAS FOR IMPROVEMENT: (1) Need a way to be able to order or pick up Frozen Desserts later / after main meal without having to leave table and go back in line to order dessert. Having frozen dessert delivered at the same time as the meal means the frozen custard melts before you can eat it or you must eat it before the main meal. (2) Space was a bit crowded. (3) Place is too loud - loud background music not really necessary especially during the day. Feels too clubby. read more

I finally got to try Shake Shack at Union Station and it did not disappoint! I went around 6:30 on a Tuesday and there was no line. Customers have the option of ordering with a representative, or at a tablet located at the front of the venue. I love the way the interior was decorated; it was very welcoming and modern/chic. There is even a bar that serves drinks/cocktails, which makes Shake Shack seem like a great place to go before any sporting event. The restaurant was very clean - when we finished our meal someone was immediately at our table to collect our tray. I ordered a double patty with bacon and avocado, along with a milk shake and fries on the side. The burgers were very juicy and tasty. I left the restaurant feeling satisfied (but not gross like some burgers make me feel!). For two double burgers, fries and a small milk shake I paid about $43. read more

Really enjoyed shake shack! The doubleshack burger was so juicy and delicious! Really filling as well. The cheese fries were delicious and crinkle cut. The chicken bites were okay but the breading was falling off. I loved the honey mustard dip with them. The service was fast and the seating was really nice. Highly recommend if you're nearby for a burger. read more
This is the second Shake Shack in Canada, both of which are in the Toronto downtown core. The first one was unique in that it sold alcohol. This one is unique in that it it has a bar and sells 4 signature cocktails, sourced from Civil Pours Shake Shack, an extremely popular US hamburger brand, opened in Toronto on 2024-06-13, and this one opened on 2024-12-04. This location is licensed to serve alcohol! I have never seen a Shake Shack bar outside of Canada that is licensed! However, a few locations in the USA and Bahamas have a bar. The menu consists of classic menu items from its US counterpart, with items such as ShackBurgers, crinkle-cut fries, and hands-spun milkshakes. However, there are a few Canadian-specific menu items such as: 1. Maple Salted Pretzel Shake. It has their signature vanilla frozen custard with Canadian maple syrup and pretzels. 2. More S'mores Concrete dessert. It has chocolate and vanilla frozen custard, blended with toasted marshmallow sauce, fudge sauce, Graham crumbs, and chocolate pieces. 5% of sales will be donated to Campfire Circle, a charity that helps kids with cancer or serious illness as well as their families. 3. I Heart Butter Tart Concrete dessert. It has vanilla frozen custard blended with Brodflour butter tarts and flaky salt. 4. Shark Attack Concrete dessert. It has chocolate frozen custard blended with brownies, fudge sauce, chocolate chunks, and cocoa nibs from Chocosol. 5. ShackMeister Ale from Bellwoods Brewery. 6. Shack Red and Shack White from Rosewood Winery. 7. Hand-Crafted Signature Cocktails from Civil Pours. 8. Shack dog biscuits and Pooch-inis from Wufers dog bakery. It has dog biscuits on top of vanilla frozen custard. All their burgers are made with 100% Canadian Angus beef, never frozen, and raised without antibiotics or added hormones. The tables are handcrafted from Canadian Maple. My family has eaten at Shake Shack at several locations in the USA, and recently, in Mar 2024, in Singapore! Unfortunately, they sold out of their Durian Milkshake! You would line up to order on a self-order kiosk and then wait for your order to be picked up at their pickup counter. You would grab their own items like napkins, ketchup, plastic forks, etc. Shake Shack Canada plans to open 35 locations by 2035. Shake Shack USA started 20 years ago. There is free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. There are three gender-neutral washrooms, one of which is wheelchair accessible. There is paid neighbourhood street parking and a paid parking lot. Finally got a chance to try Shake Shack at Union Station! I've always been a big fan, having only visited their locations in the States before, so I was excited to see how the Toronto spot measured up -- and it did not disappoint. The quality was just as good as I remembered! Ordering was super easy with the self-serve kiosks, and they hand you a buzzer so you know exactly when your food is ready. The atmosphere is welcoming, with plenty of nice seating and a relaxed vibe. This location even serves alcohol, which is a nice touch if you're looking to unwind a bit. I ordered the classic single ShackBurger and cheese fries, and both were delicious as always. Also got the half/half Iced tea and lemonade, which was great as it wasn't too sweet. Shake Shack remains one of my favourite burger joints, and I would highly recommend anyone to check out this location if you're craving a great burger experience! read more

Love that they opened their second location right at Union station! Super convenient to grab and go but just take into account the wait times so don't cut it too close to your train or bus boarding time! You get ushered to a kiosk to order and staff informed me that pop have free refills too! At the kiosk you get a buzzer and once that rings, you can grab your food from the front. It is slightly hectic in that area but it is manageable. I personally do find that the service was a bit faster here than at the Yonge Dundas location. read more
Obviously had to try. Went on a Friday evening, was pretty busy. Staff is nice and helpful. Clean restaurant and tables. Ordered 2 shroom burgers, fries, a coke and beer and cost about 40$. Felt steep. Beer was alright, it's on tap so I expected it to be crisp and cold but it wasn't. Burgers are great tasting but so damn stingy on the toppings. Barely any dressing inside, two slices of tomato and a leaf of lettuce...that's it. Fries are yum always. Probably won't come again. read more

Shake Shack's grand opening was today so I had to stop by during lunch to check out the hype. Located in Union Station, just across from MightyBird is home to the financial district's newest burger joint. This Shake Shack boasts a bright, modern, and inviting restaurant reminiscent of its other brick and mortar locations. With "Shake Shack" greens, wood tones and brass adorn around the walls and furniture. I'd say, during peak hours, finding a seat can feel like a scavenger hunt, so be prepared to either wait or take your food to go. Alternatively, if you can find a spot at the bar then just walk straight in and get to ordering there to skip the line. As for takeout, they have both cashiers and self serve kiosks with alert pucks to notify you that your food is ready. Service was fair but I'd chalk that up to the grand opening and volume of orders but they were happy to accommodate or help with issues. One thing I do want to point out is that, everything looked chaotic but was actually quite efficient.. I was in a seat with food in10-15 mins which isn't so bad given the line of over 30-40 people. The menu is as classic as you get..serving burgers, fried chicken, hot dogs, crinkle fries and shakes. The food was solid and the quality is as you'd expect. Going for a somewhat chiller and easier lunch, I went for: Double ShackBurger (9/10) - Staple classic that serves two juicy, perfectly cooked beef patty nestled in a soft potato bun, accompanied by fresh lettuce, tomato, cheese and the signature ShackSauce. The flavors are simple but works on all levels. Shake Shack also provides a range of beers and alcoholic drinks. I opted for the: Shackmeister Ale (8.5/10) - Solid red ale that hits helps cut through the richness of the double patty. Overall, Shake Shack is a welcomed addition to my lunch rotation and I can't wait for the hype to die down a bit. While the prices are a bit higher than typical fast food, the premium ingredients and excellent execution make it worth the splurge. Whether you work in the area grabbing a bite on the go or a tourist exploring downtown, Shake Shack is a dependable choice for comfort food done right. read more

There is no lineup and I have 30 minutes while waiting for my train. I order the shroom burger because I recall it was so juicy and tasty when I had it in New York City. Well it took 15 minutes even they aren't busy and what's worse was my first bite and the burger was cold. Brought it back and was told to wait for 3 minutes but turn out it took another 5 minutes. At the end, I have to eat at rush and catch my train. And it was so disappointing that the wait wasn't worth it at all, burger was tasteless and the portabello coating was so thick and it was difficult to bite in , it more like hard rock than crispy. Services wise sucks, there is not a single sorry or apology for the entire situation, they were only chitchatting and laughing!!! read more
