After my recent stay during the LA Marathon weekend, I tried this burger chain for my first time. It was conveniently close to my hotel and near a parking garage as well. You place your order on their kiosk or app. It was around 5pm on a Sunday evening and my double cheeseburger and fries were ready in under 10 minutes. I did takeout to eat back at my hotel and the staff gave me several sauces and plenty of napkins. Food was delicious and of ample portions as I was hungry after running my race. My only regret is I should have tried a shake as a post run treat! Maybe next time. Establishment was clean on this busy weekend. read more

I've been to this shake shack location plenty of times since I live close by. Honestly, they're consistent every time and I've not once had a meal here. The staff are always so pleasant to me and they do a good job keeping the inside clean. I love getting the smoke shack burger. It's really crazy that I live right around the corner and this is my first time actually dining in. I usually do takeout, so this experience was very delightful and insightful. I stay in Oklahoma, the closest I got to a Shake Shack was seeing their stuff on blogs. My other hometown, Dallas, got a Shake Shack a couple years back. I made a trip to LA, this was in the area during an afternoon stroll, I had to stop by after all of this time. I got the Korean BBQ Burger. They give you the option to sub for a veggie patty & that's exactly what I did. Outside of the angus beef, it comes with cheese, crispy sweet onions, fresh scallions & Korean BBQ sauce. The sauce was very subtle. I added pickles to my burger to give it something extra. The burger was for a limited time. They also had a Korean style Fried Chicken sandwich & Spicy BBQ Korean Fries. The setup is a bit different, the entrance is not off of the main street, it's on the side. Parking is tough to find in this area. Multiple one way streets surround the area. This was my 2nd time trying Shake Shack, and it's actually pretty good. I ordered the avocado bacon burger and a maple snickerdoodle shake. Both were very delicious. Price wise it is a bit pricey. I paid about $19 for the two. I feel like if it's going to be that much I should at least have my order taken by someone instead of doing everything myself. I really don't understand how long shake shack has been in business. It's not a terrible burger chain, but it's definitely not the best. Especially for the price point. First the crinkle cut fries are total failure. No crunch, lacking salt and soggy. For the burger I purchased a double smokeshack burger (angus beef, cheese, bacon,chopped cherry peppers and shack sauce) the beef patty was actual delicious but that's as far as the tastiness goes. As all the ingredients just didn't mesh well and the size was very small. Unfortunately the star of the show was the black and white shake ( fudge sauce mixed in vanilla frozen custard) its was good but still nothing to recommend to your people. The Birthday Boy requested Shake Shack. Parking of course is a bit hard in LA but we were able to find a open meter parking. Thank goodness. Walked about a block. Came around 3 pm Saturday afternoon. It was a full house but we were able to get a seat right away. Went to the counter and ordered our burgers & shakes. Service was good & food came out within a timely manner. Only issue was we were charged for a sandwich we didn't order. Realized that after we saw our receipt and was waiting on our food. Associate refunded the extra charge but still said they'll give us that extra burger mistakenly rang up. After we got our food. We ended up getting an extra burger we too didn't order. Got the Yummy Spicy Bacon Burger protein style, not overly spicy, great kick of spice, ShackBurgers & bacon cheese fries. My kids couldn't stop eating the fries! Burgers are good but on the smaller side. Fries are so yum & extra crispy. Really delicious fries. Can't seem to stop putting one in our mouth. Shakes are delicious. Man oh man, shake shack! I am writing this review based on location compared to the other location I have had. I have had Downtown LA & Emeryville shake shack; Downtown LA being my first time having it. The location itself wasn't the best nor the prettiest; it's downtown LA. Parking is iffy & the walk to there is iffy, and for someone who isn't from the area, you feel like you gotta keep yo head on a swivel. Regardless, I'm rating based off of the food, service, & cleanliness. The food was amazing! As someone who has burgers often from places like in-n-out to five guys to some real nice home cooked burgers, this place has got IT. I've also never been a crinkle cut fry kinda guy. Hated them actually. Until I've had them from here. Perfectly salted & crispy crunchiness on the outside, and that soft inside; ouwee. I'm not a vegan, BUT I have been, for a strong 6ish months, so I decided to try their vegan chocolate shake, and OH MY F-ing GOD that SH!T was FiRE ! The table my girl & I sat at was clean; no complaints there. The bathroom needed a code, which makes sense because well.. downtown LA. The bathrooms were clean too! It was my first time having shake shack and it was really good. To be honest, the prices are really expensive for a thin burger. However, I think it's a place you need to try at least once. Finally got to try Shake Shack and now I can add another of my opinions into the whole regional burger ranking bracket (you know, the debate between which is better: In-N-Out, White Castle, etc). This was right next to the lucky free street parking that we got and service was friendly and efficient. Restaurant is clean, well stocked with utensils and condiments, and has a nice modern look. Cashier was very friendly and helpful. Seeing that they were having their Holiday Shakes & their Hot Ones collaboration, we had to order these! We got the: 1) Hot Ones Bacon Cheeseburger: -It's a 100% Angus beef burger with their collaborative Hot Ones Spicy Shack Sauce, applewood smoked bacon, and Monterey Jack cheese on a potato bun. -I mean it's not a bad burger per se. Tastes pretty good, and the Hot Ones sauce actually has a pretty good kick to it with some afterburn (but it's not impossibly spicy) and this goes great with the slightly melted Monterey Jack cheese, but honestly, it just seemed like a regular burger to me. -It doesn't warrant the premium price that comes with the order. -The burger patty itself is just alright, not super thick and not really that juicy either (definitely not dry, but it's just okay). No char or smoky flavor to it. Bacon was in small slices and were a bit fatty. Not really that crispy. -The potato bun itself was a bit flattened and honestly just looked like something you can get at a typical supermarket. 2) Hot Ones Bacon & Cheese Fries: -It's crinkle cut fries topped with their cheese sauce with some pepper flakes on top. They also serve this with a side of their Hot Ones Spicy Shack Sauce. -The best part of this was the extra side of Hot Ones sauce since we dunked our burger in this and used the remaining sauce on another meal that we had later on in the day. -Fries were okay in general. Nothing too much to write home about. 3) Peppermint Chocolate Shake: -One of their holiday seasonal shakes! Comes with some whipped cream and festive sprinkles. -Very thick and rich shake that's plenty sweet on its own. No need to make this one malted! -Honestly it was not too bad when I was first drinking it, but as we were finishing it, it became way, way too sweet and we just had to toss it out. Potentially would be better if I diluted it with milk taking it back home, but this is definitely a shake for those with a sweet tooth! Altogether, this was almost $30 and not worth the price. Since there's not that many Shake Shacks around me in general, I don't think I'd go out of my way to get any, but I can at least say that I've tried their food at least once. read more

Why does the app frequently not work AND you don't accept Apple Pay. We tried calling and no one answered so we assumed it was closed due to Google. But when I walked my dog I saw that Shake Shack was open. I didn't have my wallet with me but I had my phone with Apple Pay. The curbside staff said I couldn't order curbside without my card. So I went home to collect my wallet and returned to Shake Shack to place an order. But while waiting for my order I noticed the screen with orders showed the have web orders too. Imagine my surprise when I went online and ordered a drink! It was ready almost immediately. I had to make two trips because the first curbside hit told me if I couldn't order on app I'd have to order through them in person. But that was mot true. I'm upset that they didn't recommend the website which took seconds to place an order. To make matters worse, we prepare to eat and the Ketchup packets are grimy and sticky. I wish I had the person's name who helped us this evening! She was so incredibly next level kind. We came in at 2 minutes to closing (I would hate people like us normally, we were just late coming from a performance at the Dolby theatre). Anyways this girl was so sweet to us. Their machines close when their store does so she explained I would have to order quickly. I did so as fast as I could and got in my order but I did it so quickly I only put it one meal for two of us. I also only was able to put in the default tip as I was trying to race the clock (I really really regret that but didn't have any cash on me to add!) Not only did the girl come over, apologize for something she had no control over, but she also gave us a drink because we didn't have a chance to order one and told us she made the hamburger herself. I would love it if you could recognize her awesome attitude and for helping us in such a nice way when I bet she wanted to get out of there too, it being so late. I live about 100 feet away from this location so i eat here a lot purely out of convenience. I use their app to order and when it tells me my foods ready for pick up, i walk over to their "walk up window", wait a few minutes for someone to notice me and then collect my food and leave. I noticed they were having a free delivery promo with the code "Getshack". I decided i was feeling a little lazy so i had my food delivered this time. I ordered a double shack, add onions and fries with a side of shack sauce. Received my order in about 20 minutes. I opened up the containers and saw that my burger was just a double cheeseburger... no lettuce, tomatoes or onions. Since I'm only 100 feet away, i decided to take the food back and ask them to remake it. I also planned on asking for a refund on their bogus $1.36 "service fee" for taking a delivery order. I spoke to a cashier and told her what happened, she said they'll remake it and issue me a refund for the service fee. I wasn't given another receipt or a number or anything... so i sat at a table nearby and waited. I waited about 20 minutes before i walked up and asked if my food was ready yet. They then proceed to walk over to the delivery pick up window and grab my order. I asked about the service fee refund and they grabbed the manager Paulina. Paulina said that all refunds need to go through corporate and that she had requested my service fee to be refunded. I was told that i would automatically see the refund in my statements in 3-5 days. Nothing was given to me to confirm this. No receipt, not confirmation number-nothing. When i asked about it further she said she could give me coupons if that's what i wanted ‍ i said no thanks, just the refund please. This review is honestly just to keep Paulina accountable. Let's see if my refund comes in. I understand it's only $1.36 but this location ALWAYS messes up my orders... they probably owe me over $100 in messed up orders.
