Stopped in here for some lunch after I had been shopping in the jewelry theatre. It was convenient cause it was close, about a 4 min walk. Only thing is there is an intense amount of homeless in the area, just heads up. If you're from the area you're familiar with the conditions. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place it self was super clean, bathrooms were as well![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They have a kiosk for self order. We tried their bacon cheese burger and it was delicious. We also tried their bacon cheese fries and these were great as well. Overall, I would only stop at this location if I was in the area.

Please check your food before eating it. My patty was pink and cold in the middle. This is from a pickup order on 6/20. So disappointed. Don't know if I'll be back.

Located in the heart of downtown Los Angeles. Parking will be on the street with meters. Ideal stop for those who are already in downtown. They open early at 10 AM for people that are hustling and bustling in the city. I stopped in for a quick snack. I opted for fries and a freshly made ice cream, which was very satisfying. When I have more time, I generally eat the whole combo. The service is always amazing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]About 20 tables inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Thank you for servicing downtown LA. I appreciate you being here.

I came here mostly because in the Shake Shack app, they offered to give me a FREE hamburger if you spend at least $10. Since everything is pretty pricey already and one hamburger is almost $10, you should always be able to reach that spending limit no matter what you order. I'm surprised most people don't use the coupon codes offered in the app to get some free items. Please do yourself a favor and download it so you can get basically a free entre on top of what you would already order. I got a Shack burger, the free avocado bacon burger (using the promo code on the app at the time of this review), and cheese fries. The total for all three was ~$15 after taxes and promo code, which I think is a good deal. I came in just before 12 PM, so it was relatively empty. My order came in about 5 minutes. Staff were very friendly and professional. It wasn't hectic yet, so maybe that was why, but I am sure the staff were prepping for a busy lunch once it reached 12 PM. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The bathrooms have lock codes on them and there is no outside sink just for hand washing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There is a filtered water system and dispense ketchup for public use. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place was clean and quiet before the 12 PM rush hour.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Summary: - [[HIGHLIGHT]]CLEANLINESS. The inside of the restaurant was clean. There weren't too many people when I came in, so it didn't look crowded or overwhelming.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] - COSTS. $ Affordable. ~$15 if you use promo codes on the Shake shack app. - CUSTOMER SERVICE. The staff was quick, friendly, and professional. - FOOD QUALITY. Way better than McDonalds and other generic fast food chains. - FOOD QUANTITY. Decent portion size. Even better if you get another free hamburger. - WAIT TIME. Five minutes to order two hamburgers and fries. Fast.

I've never really been much of a Shake Shack fan, but when my wife and I were hungry and we were walking right by this location, I figured it was time to give it another shot. We came here around 5PM and the place was pretty busy, but the kitchen was working fast, and the staff up front was very friendly. What drew me in was the advertised Black Truffle Burger so I ordered that, a the sunset lemonade, and we split an order of the french fries. The Sunset Lemonade was a mixture of Strawberry, Lemon Juice, and Orange which tasted pretty solid, though nothing above average. The Black Truffle Burger was the first burger I've ever had from Shake Shack that really did it for me! The Gruyere cheese, crispy sweet onions, black truffle oil, and the potato bun that held it all together was absolutely delicious, while the standard crinkle cut french fries were top notch as well. Overall, Shake Shack finally won me over with this trip and I'll definitely be back in the future. This location is so convenient for me, that as long as they keep these special burgers from making some sporadic appearances, I'll be sure to come back in the future!

Food was fresh. Out of a few menu choices due to a door dash special. Service was friendly and food was served quick

Another fine example of a Shake Shack. Though their food isn't my favorite and it's a little over-hyped, I have never walked out saying this meal is terrible. If anything, I just think their price point is $5-$8 too high for the quality of food. Indeed, no burger, fries, and drink combo should cost $22 before tip--even if it is a "specialty" burger or bbq fries, which was just fries dressed with bbq dry rub and a tub of nacho cheese. That was maybe a $15 meal at best, and even then I'd think the burger was on the scrawny side. If it wasn't for the fact it's nearby the Wiltern, where I was seeing a show, I'd have never come here. That's what I think of Shake Shack; okay in a pinch, but not in my top 20 fast food joints.

Cold and even colder fries and onion rings! Yuck!

My bad! Never -Never order fries or onion rings via delivery!!! I have never received a quality product! Arrived ice cold! = in the trash! Bacon Burgers? I'm sure good if hot & fresh, again arrived cold! Not on SS , it's about the delivery app! So $$$ for for not eaten!

Coming in to a last minute job here in downtown this place was close by. This place had good food and great service. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place can use a retouch of decoration but it is fine and clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I like that they have safety patrol in the building to keep it safe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The burger and fries were great.

Believe it or not, I ate fast food. And I wasn't forced to. And I ate it all. It's what I ate before attending a show across the street at The Wiltern. Walked in and ordered via an electronic device or kiosk station. It's where you also grab a number and then find a seat and your order is brought out to you. If you're with others, have them find seating while you place the order. I saw others standing and eating because there's not a lot of places to sit. I can't really comment on the service as I didn't have human interaction other than my order being brought to my table. Not that I needed it - just mentioning it in case you know me and you think I'm getting old and forgetting to mention service. As for the food - for me, high prices for small portion size. $20 for a burger, fries and a drink. See pics. I had hoped that because of the locations and Asians can handle heat - that my order would at least give me a tingle in that department. It didn't. The burger or the fries. Flavor was ok but I wanted to at least feel some semblance of heat - but there was none. I know I've been to a Shake Shack before. I recall feeling the same way back then as I do now. It's ok. But remember, I don't really eat fast food. So, go and enjoy if you do.

I stuck with getting the mild sando, and didn't expect the chicken breast so gigantic! It was a delicious sandwich and the spice was pretty good. I'm glad I didn't go any spicier than that. I ordered the fries which were actually pretty good. They were definitely seasoned, but they weren't heavily in taste sense. They had something for me to drink and it went really well with a meal actually. I'm glad that I could say that I enjoyed this place from beginning to end. And wow, I totally get why it's such a big deal now. My mind is officially blown! I'll be honest, when I saw the menu, I did a slight double-take at the prices, but trust me, every single penny is worth it. This isn't just fast food; it's an experience in itself. These aren't just ordinary burgers; they're *the* iconic chili burgers, and they absolutely live up to their reputation. As soon as I bit into mine, it was pure bliss. The rich, savory chili, the perfectly cooked patty, and all the fixings just melted together in a glorious, wonderfully messy symphony of flavors. It was exactly as amazing as everyone described, and I'm officially obsessed. I think I've found my new favorite indulgence! So, I had a thought - if you, Art, or Beverley ever find yourselves in the vicinity, you absolutely, positively *have* to stop by and treat yourselves. It's truly a unique culinary adventure, and I have a feeling you'd all be singing its praises too.

The overall Yelp rating reflects the customer experience--not the food ( i.e., what customers…read moreexperience while waiting, before ordering and receiving foods ) Part I: Production of Service Employees earn 3 Stars ***** The customer experience is awful--not awesome. I avoid this location, for sure, on celebratory occasions and may drive-by if the vibe is off--hence a little. Although, this iconic location is nestled in the middle of a busy street intersection, homelessness, and the hostility of the neighborhood--You could easily experience a great experience (the food) or a bad visit (the food and experience). This Los Angeles institution has built a reputation for serving the public--not the community or neighborhood. A successful business model in malnourished neighborhoods is a crucifix. However, I don't think Original Tommy's should carry the cross alone. But, I would be curious to know how they benefited the community and not their bottom line. By celebrating 80 years and to charge .80 cents for a chili burger is Good--but ".80 cents" every eighty years--not so much. This location's only production is to manufacture and produce hamburgers. The irony is that customers need to communicate beforehand. The employees are not trained properly in how to communicate with patrons or retain their knowledge of products and use of terminal operations of cash and credit card systems efficiently will make less than stellar occasions, for the following reasons: - wait longer than necessary to order and receive - processing food orders without customers request - you will receive someone else's order by mistake - after waiting in line (your turn to order) and the credit card systems is down "but you have no cash" -constantly watching out for moving vehicles "driving in or backing out" - the uncertainty of conflict and confusion that arise in long lines - offering promotional opportunities with failed knowledge and understanding of the PROMOTION! - the inconsistency of staff asking customers "for their telephone" to credit their purchases with "points to earn" or when customers supply their food requests and tele- information the employees appear clueless and customer are repeating their orders "over and over" and reconfirming their order "over and over" again. -depend upon your visits your hamburger may have been prepared (the patty pre-cooked) not on the grill. So your hamburger experience may be "super hot" on busy days and nights but "Luke warm" on other days and nights. - the uncertainty of the "other" section where customers can place orders are "open or closed" I haven't figured it out yet--neither have they. The reason why most ppl will order at the original location because the emphasis of production is placed on the landmark location--not the side bar to handle crowd overflow, etc... Original Tommy's Burgers has mastered the art of food not public relations--for example, read Yelp Reviews. Part II: Customer Satisfaction Foods earn 3 - 4.5 Stars ***** The food is enjoyable and can easily bring a smile to your face. No one enjoys going from "smiling to frowning" for any reason (before, during or after). I hope that personnel do better to improve customer experience before customer satisfaction--hence "customer" is before customer service. I recommend this location. Buyer BeWare.

My fries were good, and my partner's macaroni salad and spicy rice were both flavorful. We especially loved the biscuit.
