Came across D-Town Burger Bar and it has a vintage vibe in their interior decor. Got a jukebox playing oldies makes you feel you've traveled back in time to the good o' days. D-Town Burger Bar offers more than just burgers, breakfast items as well. I came in waiting for the cashier and I was waiting for a solid minute or two till someone showed up. She was nice and chill and the service after was quick. They take 4% merchant fee for any credit card transactions. I've ordered a Cheeseburger Combo and with cash it comes out to $13.07. Pretty affordable prices! My table was a bit dirty and I can see other tables haven't been fully wiped down. The burger was meh. It was mid to say the least. The patty wasn't juicy and it didn't have much flavor to it. The "seasoned fries" don't have the same seasoning I'm accustomed to. It kinda has a tomato seasoning to it. My coworker was craving breakfast at 2 pm and most places in DTLA stopped serving at 12pm, but just before we gave up we decided to give this place a try. They clearly forgot my order. Went during my 30 minute lunch break, placed my order at the counter, waited atleast 20 minutes to only be asked if I was ready to order and I saw the cook had just placed my order of fries and chicken strips in the fryer. Also, I was the only one ordering and there was maybe 2 patrons eating so it's not like they were busy. In fact, the cook was in the back sitting down on his phone when I turned to Check the status of my order since it had been a long wait already. Usually my other orders are quicker so I was curious to know why my order of basic strips and fries was taking long. First of all forget about parking on 6th street. You only have one shot to find a space as it's a one way street. There are some lots on Spring and later on 6th before you get to Main so keep it in mind. This is a pretty gritty area of downtown so just expect to see a little of everything happening here. Food is pretty decent. I enjoyed their burgers. Their turkey burger is also pretty good. I've also enjoyed some of their breakfast plates and the breakfast burrito. You must tell them easy potatoes and even then be careful because they will load it up with potato's and I hate having a potato burrito. You get great value here if you order directly from the store versus the third party apps. All in all this is place I think about coming back to. The scene inside is a whole 50's type of diner. Something to enjoy when you stop by. And they're open late too. Like super late. DTLA at night, especially around the business area, is kind of a food desert. You can walk down to Little Tokyo or the Grand Central Market area, but that's a bit of a hike. Broadly speaking, food in this area caters towards people who work in DTLA - aka young urban professionals who think burgers should be $20 and fit in your palm. Luckily, the burgers here are both under $20 and significantly larger than my palm! D-Town Burger Bar is a pretty simple, sorta fast-food place. You order at the counter, they serve traditional fast food. Burgers, fries, shakes, the like. There are multiple reasons I have gone to this place so often. First, the burgers are decent. Greasy but not too greasy. You can order them with whatever you want in them. I tried the Corona Burger (lol) and it was pretty decent, though it was packed with every imaginable burger ingredient imaginable (and I don't love my burgers with avocado and what not). I actually think their normal double burger combo is the best thing on the menu. They grill the burgers and sandwiches right in front of you, and that means that the food is hot and fresh once it gets to you. Some people get this to-go, but I strongly recommend eating in because that's how you get the warmest and freshest foodge. Fries in particular are some of my favorite fries out there. They come out piping hot, covered in nice cajun dry rub, and just overall the perfect size to enjoy both the warm gooey potato inside and the crispy, fresh out of the fryer skin. I think the fries are really what kept on making me come back. Another plus - they're also open really late! Very convenient! A lot of times, they'll be the only real sit-down food option open at say, 2 AM on a Saturday. And despite having no competition, they're still pretty good! Prices aren't turbo-cheap, but they're pretty good by DTLA standards. Anyways, if you're in this part of downtown (dunno, stuck there for work or something once COVID ends and the laptop class heads back to their cubicles), or if you're stupidly drunk there at like 1 AM in the morning, either way, can't go wrong with getting a burger here! read more

I ordered on Uber Eats and spent over $40. Honestly the food was not worth the money . The fries were very soggy and when I asked for chipotle sauce on my burger they drenched it in the sauce and made the burger very soggy as well. I also paid $5 for onion rings and it only came with 3! The chicken strips were very hard and overcooked. I'm very disappointed because I love to try new restaurants and I order in very often and lately have been disappointed in the overpriced food and horrible service. This company is double taxing everyone. Just reported them to BBB and cdtfa.ca.com. The listed price is not what they charge. They say "tax is added" so a $4.99 burger is $5.18. Ok. But then they add tax on the bottom of the transaction as well. Completely fraud of their customers. This is incredibly illegal and imagine how many people they are doing this to. Update since owner replied: I had not even paid. The burger was $4.99 on the menu and the milkshake $3.99 and the total came to $11.49. I asked why the price was like that and he said the price is tax added. He said I can't change the price I just work here. Just to be clear $5.18 isn't 4% added from $3.99. Never told me or asked me if I was paying cash or card. So I just walked out. In conclusion, yes it is absolutely tax fraud. Literally only worth going to because you have no other choice after midnight. Mediocre food and shockingly bad service. My girlfriend was initially repeatedly ignored by the man making the food despite being ready to order. A few hot young girls in club attire, though? Immediate service. Awesome. We were desperate for food after trying three other places, so I just went up, got his attention, and asked if he was still taking orders. He said yeah, then turned around and kept cooking. I said I was ready to order and he said that the other lady would take my order in a couple of minutes. What other lady? The one hanging out in the back. She came out and took my order: two meals, one for a Philly, one for a double bacon cheeseburger with avocado. I had to go over it with her twice, then again when she asked me if my order was correct on the screen; half of it wasn't. Her mistakes weren't because of any kind of miscommunication or because she couldn't hear me, she just wasn't paying attention, frequently getting distracted by jabbering away with with cook and a regular who was eating at the bar. This would continue to be a problem with other customers as we waited for our food. Somehow, our order came out to FIFTY DOLLARS. I have no idea why or how, but I was too exhausted to argue. Whatever. The girl continued to talk VERY loudly, shouting for no reason and giving a lot of really weird attitude to any customers who were confused by the very unclear and confusing menu. She talked the way that some people do when flirting, except this wasn't flirting, it was just her trying to be clever and playful in a weirdly mean way. Our order didn't come out all at once, she handed us one item at a time, even though they were ready within the same few minutes, so I had to get up five separate times to get everything. As for the food, it's below average. Poorly constructed and under-seasoned. The fries were unsalted, just seasoned with this red powder that didn't add anything. We had to salt them ourselves using salt packets. A nice little extra touch: the lady sitting behind us who'd been there since before we arrived? They FORGOT TO MAKE HER ORDER. This poor woman ended up waiting over an hour for chicken strips. CHICKEN STRIPS. They were just frozen ones that needed to be dumped into the fryer for a few minutes! AN HOUR.
