I've always heard so much about Shake Shack and how it's giving In-N-Out a run for its money and I was glad I was finally able to give it a shot. The line is not as long as what it used to be and you can generally get a quick bite on the weekdays. It's unique in the sense that there is alcohol and pet food on the menu. One of the main downsides of shakeshack is the price point - it is kinda pricey with burgers ranging from 5-10 dollars for a portion similar to IN N Out. It definitely is good, but you have to justify the price point. The fries were delicious and crinkle cut and the shake was delicious as well. Waited in line over 10 minutes, then verbally ordered my entire meal only to be told afterward that this Shake Shack doesn't accept U.S. Currency unless it's digital. This info is printed on a standard paper-sized laminate sign, however the sign itself is placed on the side that delivery drivers are directed toward, so walk up guests can't actually see the sign in the immediate peripheral view without looking at the signs over on the "pick-up side", which makes zero since since those people clearly already paid with an App. Turning away hungry people and not accepting cash for food during a pandemic is ignorant corporate Classism. Smallish location and since there isn't much line room for ordering, there's a good chance the line will be out the door. But don't let that fool you. The line tends to move along quickly so you'll get your order in shortly. I'm not going to get into the In-N-Out/Shake Shack debate here. It's a different burger. There is free parking at the Glendale Galleria and there is 90 minute free parking at the Americana, both of these places being walking distance of Shake Shack. I ordered the Shack Burger (single patty) and boy was that single patty a mistake. I figured for $5.55 the single patty would be a relatively good size burger, but I couldn't have been more wrong. It was about the same size as a single patty in-n-out burger (probably even smaller!). The burger did taste awesome, but I couldn't justify the price for the size. I had to keep reminding myself that I was not eating a slider but instead a "full size burger." To accompany the slider, I mean full size burger, I ordered cheese fries. These I did like a lot. The cheese was hot and runny and almost every fry I ate got some love from the cheese. Those cheese fries are something I would get again. BUT for $4.00, I would probably reconsider. My total came out to $10.45 and I left still hungry. So in conclusion, the food is tasty and if you have the budget for this type of "high end fast-food", then I would recommend trying it. My own personal taste buds would go to In-N-Out any day over Shake Shack and that is easily for half the price. Don't judge. The damage was approximately $21 but for the quality of the ingredients, I feel that you certainly get what you pay for. The Shack Stack is my all-time favorite burger from Shake Shack- a cheeseburger with a perfectly golden-fried portobello mushroom filled with muenster and cheddar cheese, topped with leafy green lettuce, tomatoes, and ShackSauce in a perfectly fluffy potato bun. The combination of flavors and textures are unlike any other burger I've tried anywhere between CA and NY. The Chick'n Shack, a crispy chicken breast topped with lettuce, pickles, and buttermilk mayo, was promising and looked amazing but after the first bite, I noticed that it was seasoned nicely but a little dry. It is a great alternative if you're not into beef but I don't think that it trumps the tried and true Shack Stack. Park in Americana's parking structure if you're not able to find a spot on the street since the first hour is free.
