I've been seeing Dr Martini for over a decade and I've talked to him about some of the most private things in my life that maybe only one other soul on Earth outside of our meeting knows about. These things have never changed the way he talks to me or caused him to judge me, and that's a type of safe space that isn't intrinsic to all Therapy or psychiatry. He's also extremely patient when it comes to letting the patient dictate their comfort level in regards to tapering off any type of medication. He would never push you to do that in a timetable that you are not comfortable with or that he has decided for you. Also Vanessa has been his receptionist since my very first appointment and they are a package deal. You definitely couldn't have 5 stars and not factor her in. She is personable, straightforward, helpful and seemingly ALWAYS on the clock! She seems to work tirelessly 24/7! read more

I've been seeing Dr. Martini for about 6 months. He isn't someone who just writes you a prescription and sends you on your way- he genuinely cares and is extremely knowledgable about medicine and how the brain works. He's careful and deliberate about any diagnosis he makes, which isn't very common these days. He's also a great therapist in his own right and has a lot of great wisdom and insight to share. Choosing Dr. Martini for my psychiatrist has been one of the best decisions I've ever made. He isn't the type to just write you a prescription and send you on your way- he takes the time to really get to know you, to talk about what's bothering you, and help you get to that root problem so you can truly heal. I know I wouldn't trade him for the world, plus- he does skype appointments! So if you travel for work, you can still have an appointment without going in to the office. If you're looking for a Psychiatrist who truly wants to improve your quality of life- this is the one for you. Vanessa, the office manager, is probably one of the nicest people you will ever meet. She is so friendly and welcoming- she takes the nerves out of "going to a shrink. Love this place. I'd been struggling off and on with work-related anxiety for years. I finally took the leap and made an appointment. Dr. Martini was not only helpful, but he was so matter of fact about my anxiety. I had always seen it as a failing on my part, and he said "it's just an imbalance--nothing you did wrong". As a perfectionist who had tried for years to deal with it through exercise and meditation, I can't even tell you how much that resonated with me. I'm not sure what those reviews about Vanessa are about. She is literally the nicest, most kind person I have come across. She is so welcoming and engaging, and being the front door of the practice, she does an amazing job of making people feel welcome, and at ease. I have never had a doctor explain things to me so well. I had concerns about certain medications and he spent time educating me. Not only did he answer my questions, he allows me to be in full control of my health. He offers options for treatment, honestly explains the pros and cons of each, and allows me to decide what is best for me. I expressed some concern over a medical issue I have been having that may need surgery. He even educated me on that, and he's not even involved in that part of my care. I feel so very comfortable with Dr. Martini because I trust that he is listening to my needs, and acting appropriately. One thing that is just simply convenient is how quickly Vanessa and/or Dr. Martini answer emails. For someone who has struggled with mild symptoms and "average" daily functioning, no one has taken time to really understand what is going on in the way that Dr. Martini did. I appreciate more than anything how he has helped me. read more

I was very disappointed in my recent experience with Dr. Martini's office. He came highly recommended to me by a friend, so I called to make an appt. After an insurance issue, I had to cancel my appointment. That was a Thursday night. I called back on Monday to let Vanessa know that I sorted out the insurance problem and I wanted to make an appointment for early January. She told me she would call me back. I did not receive a callback until Thursday, at which time I was informed that Dr. Martini is at full capacity and cannot accept any new patients. However, on the previous Thursday night, there was no issue with accepting me as a new patient and I even received the intake paperwork from Vanessa on that day. I would love to see Dr. Martini, but I am insulted by the disregard shown to me by his receptionist, Vanessa. read more

Dr. M is the man! Takes time to explain how different medications work and why some do not. Totally takes enough time to go over all your questions - and the first few appointments I had a lot. Vanessa is super nice and always responds right away - weather it is an email or voicemail. Definitely recommend him if you are having any issues from anxiety, depression or ADHD. read more

An amazing psychiatrist that listens and works with you to ensure your medications are working to help you be happier and healthier, physically and emotionally. His staff are kind and flexible. Dr. Sham Martini is one of three cornerstones of my life. He, right out of the gate (humbly) established his deeply rooted understanding of my needs and ability to quickly narrow-down the cause, effect and solution. I was given an assessment test but not merely by way of traditional means where they make the paper and ink do all of the work... It was both with paper as well as his hands on approach. His method (in hindsight) was to hear me out, feel me out, get answers for the paper but ultimately apply the affirmation by means of critical analysis... Once again. He (in retrospect) really knew what he was doing from the jump. Dr. Martini is the reason that after decades of unknowingly living with ADHD that I no longer have living nightmares at work when focus is a necessity. He has utterly impressed me from day one and is the reason that I have seen such remarkable growth in every aspect of my life. As a matter-of-fact, Dr. Martini being out of my network for sometime due to a job switch has not kept me from coming out of my own pocket to pay him. He is just that good. I kid you not when I tell you that counselors, mentors, psychologists and psychiatrists alike have not even came close to this man's ability to identify an issue and provide a solution in an exponential way. I am not a touchy-feely person but I mean it when I say that I am grateful for him. Money cannot buy you mental health, so the in-network-out-of-network thing has no bearing on my decision personally. I have had enough life experience to know when a blue-moon arises. And this is definitely one of those times... If you have any kind of mental, chemical or anxieties that you have carried your entire life then I highly urge you to schedule an appointment with him immediately because sometimes there are good things that only come once in 1 million years. And by the way, Vanessa (Front Desk - MPP) has the sweetest heart and makes you feel extremely comfortable. I am not the type of person to follow the crowd so convincing me is highly unlikely. I am so shocked at how I was just treated by Dr. Martini. First, I have been seeing dr. Martini for three years. I also want to add, that at my last place of employment, there were 3 other people there that also saw Dr. Martini and were prescribed the exact same things as I was. When I saw the doctor my appointments would be no longer than 20 minutes. He would ask me what I wanted, how many, if that dose was still working or I needed it upped, etc. In three years I've never had a full hour visit with him. I mentioned that I needed a lot of therapy and he said he would be happy to do so. After seeing him for 2 years, I came clean to him that I was an opiate addict. I told him I needed help and I wanted to get on Suboxone/Subutex. He told me he was proud of me for being honest. I lost my insurance because I had been involved in a domestic violence relationship for a year. I also could not afford to pay for the doctor visits with cash because the person in the relationship was a malignant narcissist-domestic violence perpetrator. I am completely wrecked mentally and emotionally because of this. I also have a substance abuse problem and needed to get back on my Suboxone. I couldn't go because The narcissist controlled the money and I couldn't pay for the doctor. He was arrested in early April for rape. After getting away from him, I got back together with my ex-husband who I was married to for seven years and I left for this jerk. My ex, was willing to do anything to help me. So, I emailed Vanessa, the front desk manager, and explained everything that had happened to me. She forwarded the message to the doctor and they said they would see me. I told him I need to back on my medication for opiate addiction and I also needed help with what was going on mentally with me and I wanted relationship therapy also. He looked at me as though I was a nut case, and asked what I wanted him to do. I said, "I want to get back on my medication I need help. I sent you an email and you said you'd help me." He somehow could not remember anything that had happened in the past said he couldn't trust me. I broke down and was totally honest with him after being brainwashed, raped, physically, enotiinally and verbally abused, discarded, harassed, controlled, made a prisoner. I lost everyone in my life. He said he wouldn't give me the Subutex or Suboxone and I said that was fine but "can you help me or what do you want me to do?" he said. "No" I thought "WHAT? You are a psychiatrist!" He was extremely rude, I can't help but wonder why he even had me come in there? Isn't the patient supposed to trust the doctor? This man simply wants to see as many patients as possible and prescribe as many drugs as possible. I was prescribed four-8mg Subutex/buprenorphine pills a day(which is the absolute maximum), two-2mg Klonopin a day , one-10mg Ambien a day, three-30mg Adderall per day, plus Lamotrigine and levothyroxine. I truly thought he cared. I assumed (incorrectly apparenrly) that as a psychiatrist, he would know about Narcissism/personality disorders and Domestic Violence. He seemed totally clueless and rude. I really don't understand why there are two - 5 star ratings that are hidden from view, making it seem like this practice only gets 2 stars.... Rude.. Anyway, I've been to Dr. Martini twice now and really like him. Being accustomed to never hearing back from my general practitioner and having to leave them many voicemails for rx refills, it's really nice to have everything done so prompt at Dr. Martini's office. I always receive emails back the same day, granted, I don't expect this every time because I'm sure he gets really busy. It's a very tech savvy practice which is really nice. Vanessa has been super helpful with emailing me my statements for insurance purposes and responding to any of my inquiries. The appointment with Dr. Martini itself was pretty insightful and I felt like he adequately assessed my situation before prescribing any medication. First time patient. ...I made an appointment several weeks in advance- extremely excited to see him because his theories about treatment are in line with mine. I had no insurance- this was cash for me. $420 for a single hour. I showed up 10 minutes prior to do paperwork and pay. That portion was fast and easy. I began to read magazines. My appt was at 4:45. At 5:05 I said very nicely to the receptionist -"Is he always this late?". She SNAPPED at me.. "No doctor is ever on time!". I could believe she said that. My jaw dropped. I said back, "No, not all doctors are late.". She replied "Yes, they are." To which I replied, " I am 44 years old and have been to many doctors, and YES, a lot of them ARE on time." I had done the math in my head, and if his time was worth 420 per hour, then he burned through 140 of my dollars. I might have depression issues, but my time is valuable too. I was trying to give this man money, not just for this hour, but also for a potential long term therapist relationship that could have netted him lot of money. I REFUSE to be treated as if my time is not as valuable. I do understand the occasional issue, but this was clearly not one of them. Not only should the receptionist been proactive after 10 minutes and say something like..." Wow, sorry, he is really running late..."' But to snap at me after paying and sitting there waiting like a fool. It's unfathomable that I was treated this way. I immediately asked for my money back. She did void the credit card transaction immediately and I went home. Total disappointment. read more
