The provider was nice but I would not trust him to diagnose people. He was also a negligent prescriber because he didn't mention side effects. I've found a new provider somewhere else and I wouldn't have complained but I was billed suddenly. I was going to pay on the first but they took the money from my account less than a week after notifying me there was a bill. My insurance covered a lot of my initial appointment but they charged 500 dollars and I had to pay almost 200 very suddenly. When you sign up, they don't tell you they'll do this on the site. I gave my card information to cover co-pays but didn't expect to get this sudden charge. Also, he barely talked to me for 30 minutes, prescribed me medicine without telling me the side effects, and then I was charged over 500 for an hour. At the next appointment when I said I was having side effects, he dismissed them. Be very careful going here for mental health care. If you have other options, go there. Keep looking around. This place is full of red flags. read more

I've been a patient of MTG for a few years now. The good thing I have to say is that my specialist is fantastic. Other than that I have only negative things to say. They have an official policy of not assisting with workplace accomodations or other documentation, which is a real pain since your other physicians may not be informed enough or qualified to make assertions about your health. Their automated systems are also kind of a pain to deal with. read more

I have my individual therapist that has been so supportive, encouraging, reflective and gentle in the way she has helped me to see and get to know different parts of myself and how I can use those strengths in managing family challenges and transitions. Another therapist has helped me through a very difficult job separation by supporting my decision, diagnosing what I was going through, and completing the necessary forms. Beautiful, tranquil office and amazing providers! I stopped by during the build party when this office was coming together, and I have to say that I've never experienced a more dedicated and driven group of people before...anywhere! Seriously, every staff member possible from billing to front desk were putting in hours of work to bring this new office to life. And wow...the result is incredible. From the wallpaper to the plants to the original artwork, this office's entire aesthetic is pure bliss. I was originally seeing a different provider for about four months at the Fremont branch, but transitioned to the brand-new Elliott Bay branch due to its proximity to my apartment. I'm so glad I did! The views are spectacular, staff are helpful, and I feel like my new provider is a great match so far. Plus, the office is situated in the iconic Seattle P.I. building. How cool is that?! And another plus...you can easily walk from the office down to the Myrtle Edwards park and continue your therapeutic journey. I want to start by saying the provider I got was wonderful. Dorcas was kind and attentive and I had no problems with her. The administrative staff, however, is another story. First and foremost, they lost my paperwork. Rileigh was the one to call and inform me of this and she was the cruelest person I have ever spoken to. She was rude, refused to listen to me, and overall just impossible to work with. I called back later to figure things out and unfortunately was met with Becca. She simply refused to help me no matter what I said. I really hope these two reconsider their careers working with vulnerable populations, because it doesn't seem like a good fit for them. read more

I had an intake appointment with Kirstin Arellano and was essentially stood up. The front office called her, knocked on her door, but she literally just didn't show up for my appointment. I got a call the next day from the front office offering no apology or explanation for what happened, just asking if I wanted to reschedule with the therapist who bailed on our appointment. This was my first time trying to get help and this was honestly such a disheartening and terrible experience. read more

I also love that they have psychiatrists that you can book time with if part of your issue is needing medication management. My first provider did not show up to our scheduled intake appointment, and I was not provided with an apology or any explanation of why that was. Office staff only told me that "the appointment does not appear to have been cancelled." The provider never contacted me to apologize or follow up with me. I don't know what happened and I found the whole experience to be extremely draining and disempowering. My second provider rescheduled our intake appointment twice, once with only 12 hours of notice. Every time this happened, the online portal treated me as a new patient and required I complete all the paperwork from scratch. After the third time, I gave up on working with MTG. MTG has shown very little respect for my time or how hard it was for me to reach out at all, and it has been a very painful experience to be treated this way when I have reached out for help. read more

The two providers I have seen were fine, and the front desk staff at this location was also very nice. However, Mindful Therapy Group's A/R department is wildly incompetent at best and fraudulent at worst. I have an HRA that automatically sends out payments for copays. I manage said HRA for my employer, so I have been watching checks go out to Mindful Therapy Group starting about a month ago. I called in on 9/18 because my credit card is also being charged for the copay, so I am effectively double-paying. I understood why this was happening; I just wanted to know how that would be handled, if the checks from the HRA would be sent back, etc. When I called on 9/18 I was told that they had noted the pattern of checks arriving a few weeks later, would no longer charge my card going forward, and would refund my card for the copays because they had received checks for those services. A few days went by and no refund was pending, so I called in again. On 9/22 I was told that yes they had been receiving the checks, but that a refund to me would need to be issued by check and could take a few weeks. I was told that my card would not be charged again, as they had noted checks would be arriving. Today, 10/6, I see two more copays pending on my credit card. I called in again. Today I was told that I need to send an email to the A/R department requesting that they not charge my card, that this was the only way to stop payments from posting. When I inquired about getting refunded for all the appointments I've double paid for, I was given a vague answer, so I pressed and was told that MTG had not received any checks. Again, I literally manage the HRA so I know for a fact that checks have been going out starting about a month ago. I have been told three different things about the status of my double-payments. I have been not only told, but reassured, that a note was placed on my account, only to find out that apparently this cannot happen until I do something. I would have been happy to do something three weeks ago had I known. The most egregious part is that I was reassured twice that CHECKS HAD BEEN RECEIVED, only to be told today that they have not been. I now have zero faith that the A/R department can resolve this, and will have to pursue further steps with my HRA to get my money back. Side note, yesterday my provider had to cancel due to Covid and no one told me. MTG is supposed to do the scheduling for a provider, but then throws them under the bus when they fail to do their job. read more
