I have been seeing Dr Shah for over 30 years, since I was a senior in high school. Anybody claiming he is not the most professional and caring doctor is probably not a patient and trying to drum up patients for another doctor. When I had pneumonia, he was there at the hospital to make sure I was getting the treatment needed. He came in to see me on weekends, too. When you see him at the office, he is old school...paper and pencil. He talks to you as long as you need to to be comfortable with your course of action. When I was with Kaiser for a year, I would get rushed out because they could only meet for 7.5 to 10 mins. Dr. Shah will stay with you as long as you need. No rush. Your health is the focus. i don't know what is going on. i did not want to believe any of the negative reviews as i have always praised the staff. however, i have experienced what other people wrote about. the woman sitting in the front that i have alway respected and very polite to her, showed me today that she has no manners and speaks to people the way dogs are not spoken to. and if you address the situation, instead of just apologizing and leave it there. she tells the rest of them and they follow suit, including the one in the lab. She barks at you based on what was said about you to her. instead of getting to know you for herself. its all about color and race, you are no body if you are dark skin and who do you think you are. she has no respect and talked to me like i was her dog because the character at the desk told her that I had asked her to show respect and speak to people the proper way. The one in the lab who was meeting me for the first time decided to behave the same way towards me based on what she was told. She has no manners, no class! i had to walk away from there today instead of having blood drawn based on her ill manner. she behaved as someone who was dragged up and not brought up properly, as well as discriminate the way she speaks to people like me. telling me to go back and sit down, The way and manner in which it was said was the definition of disrespectful, racist stereotyping certain people and do not respect them. Her behavior is so haggard, her features looks the same, especially her face. it shows the condition of her heart. It shows that she does not like dark skin people and use any given opportunity to let them know. And that was her opportunity. i was so polite to her, but since the woman up front told her that i did not like the way she spoke to me and she could be more respectful. she told her. so she decided to speak to me like i was her dog. these people don't realize that they are destroying themselves treating other people bad. and their entire features looks like their behavior and shows the condition of their hearts. disrespectful, respecter of person, deceitful and hateful and haggard. The toxics on their inside affects their features and appearance. They are frightened to look at. Then i had to return there again today. The same woman at the front who even called me by my name when i arrived there this morning, chose to ask me , " and who are you now" it was her planned behavior of showing me that she thought nothing of me and she did not respect me. the ugliness in her heart covered her face. and it looked very bad. she knew me by name without id. i now understand why people wrote about her saying that she has no manners. and for me to write this, its pretty bad. because i gave them the benefit of the doubt. but they showed me that other people were not lying about their conduct. i left there feeling worse than when i went there the reason why she chosed to insult me the second time the same day by asking whoa re you again, in a very sarcastic manner, its her way of telling me that people with my skin color are nothing. a wild looking character with appearance that is shameful for a woman. and they way she carries herself working in a doctor's office. and sitting at the very front. thinks her color makes superior, regardless of how dragged and unprofessional she looks and carried herself. i noticed all of these things about her from day one, but continued to be polite. but she showed me yesterday that being polite and respectable is not in her. i have heard people of her same hue saying that she has no class or manners. and they don't know why the doctor keeps her there. now I understand what they experienced and why they say the things that they have said read more

I have had the pleasure of having Dr. Shah as my primary physician for well over 15 years. He is a very caring doctor and has met all of my expectations. I have never had a problem getting in for a last minute appointment due to an unexpected illness, although keep in mind he sometimes has a full schedule which is understandable. Most recently, I was suffering from a sinus infection and was able to get in to see him within a day. One of his most impressive attributes, is his follow-up regrading blood work. It's not unusual, in fact it's common, to receive a phone call from him in the late evening hours so he can update you as to the results! Doctor Shah takes his time with you during the visit, listens to the patient concerns and treat the cause of the ailment and will not rest till he gets to the bottom of the issue. The nursing staff are very welcoming and will fit you in if not the next day then the day after. I might find it very challenging to find another doctor when time comes for doctor Shah to retire. I have known Dr. Shaw for over 35 years. As a nurse practitioner, he was the first person I referred friends and family to for internal medicine care. I continue to have him care for my parents and I have never had any regrets only absolutely positive interactions, and help from Dr. Shaw. Dr. Shah has been my primary physician for something like 18 years now. He has always been warm and welcoming when seeing me in the exam room. He listens to any issues I may have, and gives me clear advice as to what to do. In cases where I have needed to have lab work done, he will call me - sometimes as late as 7pm - to discuss the results, even when everything is ok. I have never had another doctor do that. My wife is an RN, and used to work at the same hospital where Dr. Shah is affiliated. That is how we found him - through word-of-mouth of the nurses there. I met Dr. Jay Kumar Shah at Arcadia Methodist as he was assigned to mother when we brought her to the emergency room. It was evident that night that this doctor cared. He took the time to carefully review my mother's history and her current ailments. He remained her general practitioner until the day she passed many years later. He was always there for her many medical needs with a caring compassionate attitude. I was in need of a "family" doctor so I decided to also go to him for all of my medical needs. He's great to turn to when I'm not feeling well, but if it's a specialist I need, he knows exactly who to refer me to. I must say that I'm surprised by the other comments for Dr. Shah. He has been my mother's doctor for years and I would not trade him for anything. He's the reason my mother is still here with us. My mother has chronic health conditions that have caused her to go in and out of the hospital. Dr. Shag would call me EVERY day to give me a report on my mother. He answered all my questions, and I ask A LOT, with patience and compassion. When she would go home and not show up for her appointments, he would call her incessantly because he was GENUINELY worried. He is very candid, which I appreciate. My mother is stubborn and refused to listen to anyone regarding her health, including Dr. Shah. He and I would discuss strategies on how to approach getting her to get the treatments she needed to live. We would try them and if they didn't work, would brainstorm again. What doctor takes time to do that?! Only a doctor that REALLY cares for his patients spends his time this way. Even through the pandemic, he's seen my mom at each nursing home or hospital that she is sent to for recovery. I can count on him to keep my clearly informed no matter where she is. I've witnessed him advocating at one of the nursing homes, a terrible one, to refill supplies, such as gloves, to ensure staff had what they needed when entering my mom's room. If you're looking for a tried and true dedicated doctor... one who knows his patients and will fight for them... one who fights for you, even when you may not be up for the fight yourself... one who coordinates care to make certain nothing falls through the cracks... one that you can trust to tell you the truth everytime... then Dr. Shah should be your first choice. Do not go to this quack! He was my doctor for many years. I had a routine blood test as part of a physical. Part of the test was for PSA levels for prostate cancer. Your safe level should be less than 4, but mine was 6! Instead of telling me to go to a urologist, he wanted to "keep an eye on it." One year later my blood test registered 23 and I had stage 3 prostate cancer. Had to remove prostate, go through radiation, still have cancer! Also, his exam rms. are run down and deplorable. My pets vet has nicer rms. I know he knows that I have cancer but never has contacted me, probably didn't want admit guilt! Since then I have switched doctors. BEWARE! Do not go to this docter, he is an idiot. I was pretty sick had a bad fever, really bad cough, runny nose, he looks at me says I am fine he taunts me does not even do a proper diagnosis. Of the 20 years I worked for SNFs around Arcadia, Dr.Shah is NEVER known as "kind, caring or sweet" person, you can tell by just looking at him, without even talking to him. He maybe thorough or honest but he is anything but loving, caring and sweet. Dr. Shah has bad bedside manner, rude and yells at nurses, rarely answers his calls even during business hours. And tells us nurses that we could write our own "easy" medications for his patients and I quote "Do not bother me with stupid medication orders like this." I would like to address this question to Yelp as well since they removed the review. I won't go into the detail I did last time. I just want to warn people with an elderly loved one to stay as far away from this doctor as possible. He misdiagnosed my mom repeatedly, he is abusive to his staff and was abusive to me as well. I could hear him screaming at them through the phone and they told me he is always like this; it wasn't just a bad day. I had to tell him he was giving her way too much in her feeding tube. He didn't like that and hung up on me. He went to a zero credentialed school [according to the state of California] and if I can help ONE person to not go to this doctor, I will have done my job. This is a great doctor. Not only can I get in to see him in a reasonable amount of time, his office is never crowded, there's ample parking in the back of the building, there's a phlebotomist in the office for blood work, and great staff. Co pays are check and cash only though. He also works with a very nice NP, and she is very calm and great to work with. Couldn't be happier with this doc. read more
