I am patient for Dr. Ho over 20 years, I seldomly write a review and this is the first time I put 5 stars. Today just visit him for my annual check up. As usual always in details with patient. He talk and move fast because he's busy - efficient, but he take care his patient thoroughly. He will go through all your record, explain difference if there's any changes. Very informational. Never rush you to leave because their busy job like some other doctor. He will remind your problem and follow up your status. I appreciate his effort to take care of me in all this year. Bonus is he's around middle age, and should be there for me when I got any sickness in the future....:) read more

This is not a rare for Dr. Ho. I haven't met him yet. It is a rate for the patient support. I just transferred to Dr. Ho from another office. I set up a Physical check up with him over 2 months ago. My appointment was on March 1st at 4pm. At 12pm March 1st, I received a call and asked me if I could come at 2 pm to see a different doctor. I told the person I Couldn't and please call me back for reschedule because I was working. No call later on. I called the office number instead. After 30 minutes on hold, I was happy to give all of my information to the person who I thought could help me. However, she said she had to transfer me to another department. Why? I pressed the button 1 for family doctor and then button 2 for making an appointment. Maybe those buttons are designed for wasting time. I held for another 15 minutes, then a guy asked me all of the information again and told me he couldn't do anything and had to transfer me to the doctor's office directly. Wtf! That's the number on yelp. I held another 10 minutes and gave up. The next day I called again and happened the same thing. Two calls and each call was held for 40 minutes. Each time I was told had to be transferred. Finally I connected to dr's office and told them I was trying to reschedule for the appointment. I asked why nobody called me back for rescheduling and I was told because of my no show for my Dr. Appointment! What the heck! From the beginning to end, nobody even tried to apologize. So my fellow yelpers, be aware of the call. I would suggest you to go to the office directly to get the privilege to actually talk to someone who does have the real access to the Dr's schedule! read more

I've been going to Dr Ho for 2 years. Very disappointed with Optum I have to wait so long to get an appt with him. He is very brief in his care. No personal care or concern with your care. Will not call u back, he has the clerks get the inf to you. Always late for his appts. I think he over books and then rushes to take care of his patients. By Dr Ho. read more

My mom has been a patient of Dr. Ho's for several years now. In that time, her high blood pressure has gotten worse and she has been diagnosed as pre-diabetic. Dr. Ho did not give her any medication for the pre-diabetes and did not give her any instructions on diet, etc. Her condition has progressively gotten worse, resulting in multiple visits to the ER. It has been very frustrating for me, because my mom is going to regular appointments and because her doctor is not treating her condition as serious, she does not thinks her condition is serious either. As any person with common sense knows, diabetes is a serious disease and I am very upset that her doctor is ignoring her symptoms and neglecting her treatment. Frequently, she is unable to get appointments with Dr. Ho and has to see the "assistant", who does not have a MD degree - I don't know if this person is a DO, a nurse practitioner, or some random hobo from the street. I don't know who is giving these awesome reviews, but they were obviously able to see the doctor whereas my mom could not. If you are thinking of becoming a patient, I would think seriously about whether you will ever see the guy in this picture. read more

If you want a doctor who listens to you and actually takes his time to discuss your concerns one by one, Dr. Ho is the guy. I don't mind waiting a few minutes for him to finish up with his last patient because he is worth the wait and I know I will have my turn and will have his full attention. He doesn't rush from patient to patient and make you feel like he is in a rush to get out the door. He's an excellent doctor! read more

I can't say I've had a doctor's experience like visiting Dr. Ho, ever. First things first...why is it that most physicians treat you like a number and not a human being? Typically this is the doctor's visit most people experience: get examined real quick, the practitioner's assistant addresses your initial questions, then the doctor jumps in for two minutes (usually with an impatient, "I have somewhere more important to be" attitude) and then bolts out the door the second they get the chance? That's not the sort of experience you'll get at Dr. Ho's office. Dr. Ho not only patiently answered all my questions (and boy I had a LOT of questions), but he ensured that I had ALL the information I needed before I left. He even cared enough to connect on a human level that showed me that he truly cares about his patients. In addition, he was very transparent about the fact that it's often difficult to make day-of appointments (you usually have to make an appointment a few days to a week in advance) with him because he's very busy - which I found not only showcased his honesty, but a testament that even though he has limited amount of time a day dedicated to new patients, he doesn't rush through the process. Dr. Samuel Ho has given my father fantastic care, but the problem is his staff. My dad has requested a copy of his medication list on two occasions and has received nothing till this day. Today he was scheduled to go for blood work, fasting ofcourse. He called 2 times to make sure that the lab order was sent to the lab, which is right next door. When he arrived today, They had no order and the office was unable to do anything because Dr. Ho was not in. Was this not on record somewhere? Why say that the order was sent? My poor dad has a heart condition and is in no need to go through such maddening moments. Then some dude calls him later, no apologies at all, but calls to only talk crap. Healthcare partners strives on being the best, but when continuous crap like this happens, you begin to question if patient care is truly a number 1 priority to this company. read more

As a patient of the great Dr. Ho for the past many years, I can say that I sincerely doubt that there are many physicians at his level in the primary care field. Dr. Ho is exceptional at just about every facet of his practice imaginable - he has always been excellent at correctly diagnosing any issues I have had (and perhaps more importantly, exercising some restraint/humility and acknowledging that he is unsure in the rare instance where that is the case) and has always treated me as more than a way to earn a paycheck. The Dr. will walk in to the room, sit down with me, and spend an extensive period of time examining me and simply holding a conversation (something plenty of doctors do not like to do because it takes time and time is money). Those who have had the privilege of being the Dr's patients will get to know about him, his family, his hobbies and so on. If you want a doctor who will humanize both parties to one another, Dr. Ho is the one for you. read more
