I've been with Dr. Tran for many years, and I normally don't spend time writing reviews. I recently came across her Yelp page while searching for her address and was genuinely surprised to see her rating drop. It felt very unfair, and I wanted to share my experience. It is always a pleasure to see Dr. Tran. She has consistently been patient, attentive, and respectful. I tend to have a lot of questions, and I usually do my own research before appointments because I know she is busy and other patients are waiting. That mutual respect goes both ways, and she has never made me feel rushed or dismissed. What I value most is how she explains my health issues. She takes the time to explain the underlying reasons, not just what to do or what not to do. That approach helps me truly understand the situation so I can make informed decisions. Many doctors simply give instructions without explaining the logic behind them, and with my personality, that often leads me to ignore advice I don't fully understand. Dr. Tran is different, and that makes a huge difference in my care. The staff has also been consistently helpful and professional. As long as you arrive on time, there is usually very little waiting. Good communication between a doctor and patient is extremely important, and Dr. Tran genuinely listens. I hope she continues practicing medicine the way she does and doesn't let unfair reviews discourage her. read more

Customers service, front desk poorly. Had an appointment for daughter physical exam. Ran 15mins late due to traffic and getting her out of school. Was turned away once we got there. Stating we are late and need to reschedule to a different date. Is our schedule not busy as theirs? Since when do we not wait for doctors at least 30mins after appointment time? I was bamboozled by the positive reviews. The office called me a month ago to reschedule my physical a month out due to the doctor's busy schedule which was fine. I agreed. DO NOT...I repeat...DO NOT go to this doctor!!! First of all, the staff at the front desk is incompetent. I had a complaint and now they won't answer my calls, which is so UNPROFESSIONAL!!! Dr. Tran herself won't even give me a simple call back to discuss my prescription, which she knows I need!!! On top of that, they had my lab results for 10 days and didn't bother to inform me. The office is completely chaotic and inept. They've managed to lose an appointment, misclassify one, misinform me about tests, and keep me waiting over an hour, after which, Dr. Tran spent all of 7 minutes with me, neglected to do my annual physical or review my test results, and then went to lunch. I'm not even sure how that office has more than 3 stars!! I had a terrible experience with this physician and their office. I called 10 times just to get an update on my blood work, but no one ever answered, or I was put on hold for so long that they eventually hung up. When I finally got through, I was told that someone had physically brought my blood work to the office with a note to call me--yet I never received a call. The lack of communication and professionalism is unacceptable. The doctor was also incredibly rude, making the entire experience even worse. Dr. Tran quality of care has significantly dropped. Let's begin with the reception it's terrible, the girls that work there are new and not professionally trained. They put you on hold 15 minutes, sometimes hang up on you, they complaint about the doctor and how she is always booked. They come up with excuses how she is on vacation, go to urgent care. To say I'm beyond pissed is an understatement. Front staff was really really nice, however, the doctor was completely useless, rude, and rushed the appointment. Didn't even give me a chance to ask a simple question before rushing out of the door ending the appointment. When a question was asked it was dismissed like it didn't matter. Easily one of the worst PCPs I've ever had. I've been a patient of dr. Trans for about 3 years and each time I've seen her, she's spent a maximum of 5min with my concerns. Her bedside manner is horrible. Yes I am a relatively healthy young person, but she never spends an extra second to ask questions about my health. What pushed me over the edge was calling today as I came down with COVID. Many of my friends have told me they talked to their doctors and were recommended medication to help with symptoms or what to look out for if symptoms become too severe. When I called, Mila, the front desk lady answered and asked me what I wanted then when I asked if I could speak to Dr. Tran about my COVID symptoms, she just said she can answer my questions and I can hear Dr. Tran in the background answering. She actually told me "COVID is viral so there's nothing you can do, just ride it out and you'll get better." I fired back and said, well unless I don't. Lots of peoples conditions are worsening. And she replied, yea just go to urgent care then. Like wow. At no point did she ask about my patient information, what if I have an autoimmune disease? Or was high risk? SO IRRESPONSIBLE. I urge you to NOT go to Dr. Tran. Try a doctor who actually gives a f*** about your well being. And respects you enough to speak directly to you on the phone. read more

On two different occasions I called Dr. Tran's office to make schedule an appointment to see her because I was not feeling well. On both calls, I was told to go to urgent care because she "was on vacation." She does not have an attending physician which demonstrates a lack of accountability on behalf of her patients. I immediately called my insurance provider to request a new PCP and I am so glad I did. Do not select Dr. Tran if you want a doctor who is available when you need medical attention. So I get there early for my appointment (having checked in at the office on arrival and an hour prior from my phone) to be met with no nurse so I checked in on the iPad and waited. 10 minutes past my appointment time the nurse walks in and I ask about my appointment to which she gives me a paper to sign and says the doctor will see me soon, admits and apologized for the delay. Her I like. Meanwhile people come in and out and people that came after me were seen while I still sat there. Every single person before me and after me was seen but not me. After half an hour of "soon" passed I calmly asked when the doctor would see me because it's been 40 minutes since my appointment time and 50 since I've been here. I understand offices have their own issues and delays but there is no point of appointments you can't keep when there's a giant cancellation policy charge statement engraved on a plaque on the wall. Oh the irony. Up until then I was pretty calm until I had the unpleasant interaction with a different sarcastic disgustingly rude nurse (and I don't throw those words around often) who has no idea how long I've been here or what the other nurse told me and decided to retort with "awww. Aw really? You've been waiting?" Amongst other clearly unprofessional, untrained, service-lacking, sarcastic rude responses. Not to mention there'd be a another "30 minute wait at least". Yet another person in the medical industry that thinks YOU should be grateful they're hardly getting around to their job. I asked for a refund, told them her attitude is unnecessary (since that's the only polite way to address such a mannerless person) and left. During which the rude one told the other nurse "oh yeah it's better just cancel dont reschedule so you dont ... " (come back) yeah? I dont want to. Everyone has a long day at work, to speak to a rude nurse and have an unprecedented long wait after all that isn't something anyone wants. If the staff can't handle their jobs past 3pm, by all means file for unemployment and leave your nasty attitude away from people who simply want medical attention. I had to find a new PCP and finding a good one arnd the SGV area is very difficult, especially if you want to find a doctor who does not have a thick accent, as I do not speak Mandarin/Cantonese or Vietnamese & I really don't want to do the whole I think that is what he or she said when it comes to my health/medical matters. I am so glad I found Dr. Tran. I am able to send msgs, make appointments w ease, and her staff is helpful. Due to COVID-19, I wasn't sure how office visits would work, but she implemented options to meet w patients via video appointments. Her technology friendly office def makes my life easier. I like Dr. Tran and her staff. They are all very efficient and friendly. I like the computerized forms and the office is clean. Front desk is helpful and medical assistant is thorough and friendly. So I'm not saying to never come here, but for me, I need a provider who will listen and separate me from other patients. Let me explain, I went to the office for my first appointment. I filled out all the paperwork via patient ally's portal as requested. When Dr Tran came in, she ask what I was there for, I explain I have not seen a doctor since dr Lacy who passed away. Dr. lacy wanted me to see a gastroenterologist. Dr lacy office was working on referral. I have a fatty liver and currently a pain on my left side. After I said this Dr. Tran started to compare me to the patient she just spoke to about fatty livers. She came off annoyed. I listen even thou I was already aware of what could happen. After my breast exam, she look at my chart and notice I had cervical cancer at 18yrs old. This 20 years ago. I explained the treatment and getting pap ever 3mo for two year, then 6 months for two years and once a year for the past 10 years and have been cleared to go to two years. Dr. Tran started to explain why this is important and need all my chart note regarding my cancer. I felt that she did not believe what I was telling her. Then she ask to get labs done. I walked out of the office confused. I came home talked about it with my husband and started to cry. My husband recommend to go somewhere else. I wanted to give Dr. Tran a second chance b/c I felt I was comparing her to Dr lacy. I got my labs done three weeks. Thursday I got a missed called from Dr. Trans MA (medical assistant). She left a voice message of my results. Now I could be wrong, but I do not recall okaying voice message left of my cell phone regarding my results. This is a HIPAA violation. I decided to not go back and now looking for a new doctor. I hope if you choose to see Dr. Tran, your experience will be better then mine. read more

My previous doctor was in Rosemead, a husband/wife business. The office is old & dirty, unorganized, and staffs are not too friendly either. On top of that, the wait is horrible. Then, I took a chance and switched to Dr. Loanne Tran. I was very impressed by her and her staffs. Very clean environment and friendly. Yes, it is by appointment only but she'll take you in as needed. Dr. Tran takes time explaining your problems/issues and go over and over again if you don't understand the medical terminology. They really need to work on their online appointment scheduling. They offer online booking for appointments but two times out of two I've done this and even got email confirmation that its scheduled, and come the day of the appointment I go in, nope not in the listing. 2nd time booked all the way back in Aug 16th for Sept 2 appt., goes there, and proven to be waste of time. Why bother have it if they either don't even check or it doesn't work? As well as totally clueless front desk not offering alternative schedule dates, just wrote my name down to call me back another date, doesn't even check if I'm an existing patient in their system, and just assumes I'm a new patient. On top of no positive solutions offer, just stares at me and tell me call back, doesn't even look at the fact how far ahead I had scheduled before for this date. Utter waste of time and disrespect, lack of empathy and care for patient in the staff. Terrible system. Agree with previous reviews.Terrible service. Dr. Tran calls you back within 72 hours no matter how urgent it is, especially with a newborn. When Dr. leaves for a vacation there is nobody to cover her. We ended up with going to a different dr. office who didn't ignore our concern and helped us out. read more

Was scheduled an appointment which I thought was at 4:30 p.m. for part of a first time physical and to go over my blood tests results that I had taken a week prior. The day before I called and left a voicemail and I clearly stated 4:30 appointment time, to explain I might not be able to make it and if we can just do a video conference call instead to just talk about my blood test. That was the main concern over the actual physical. They did call me the next morning and advised they couldn't change it to a video conference. I told the rep I greet off work at 4:30 and will just leave an hour early. There was no correction to the time of the appointment. I show up 5/10 minutes early and was greeted by Dr. Tran and was asked how she could help. I started I'm here for my appointment and she literally just walked to the other side of the room as the receptionist came up and said what time was my appointment. I started 4:30 and she said no. They don't see patients that late in the day. She looked up my info and said it was at 3:30 and that she told me on the phone. I looked at her stunned, why would I even go if that was the case? I tell her "so I got off work for nothing then?" She just looked at me. No apologies, no "we can try to book another appointment". NOTHING! I walked away disappointed and realized they didn't even care one bit. A waste of my time and effort. My recommendation for this place, at least send an email confirmation for appointments. read more

Compared to other doctors I've had in the past, Dr. Tran is the rudest of all. She's not understanding at all and has no patience to listen to the patients concerns and needs. I needed to get a referral and have a change in prescription but that was apparently too difficult for this doctor and her assistants to do for me. The entire staff seemed friendly at first, but after coming here several times and talking to them over the phone, they do not seem to want to help you. Unprofessional and no determination to help you get better. It's such a disappointment especially for a person who's trained to help others. A couple fractures are what brought me to Dr. Tran ten years ago and she's been my doctor ever since. Seeing her was never a burden. She's professional, straightforward, and sets realistic goals. If it came down to an ugly situation, I know Dr. Tran would be there for me. What makes her unique is her ability to love what she does but also have a unique interest in the needs for the patient. If she doesn't have the answers, she researches them. When I was bout with a diagnosis many years ago, Dr. Tran assured me she'd do everything to make treatment a breeze. She did and I'll always be thankful for her care. Her office is nestled in a very busy medical plaza right in Arcadia. Though I'm sad some of her staff has come and gone, Dr. Tran has been a positive force in my life and unequivocally the best doctor in the San Gabriel Valley. She rocks! read more

I spend 6 years want to find a good family doctor. It seems very hard, I try to visit other family doctor who was not satisfied with what I need. Last year I found Dr. Tran. I am so happy that she is a very patient, knowledgeable doctor. She listens to your problems and tries to solve every one of them. never rush you out. I have dizziness problem for three years. I visited a lot of doctors. None of the doctors can help me my dizziness. And I told Dr. Tran and she sends me the place, which they can find out my problem. I appreciate what Dr. Tran help me. She always makes sure to give follow-up phone calls too. When I had switched to Dr. Tran after changing so many doctors because of how unprofessional and overall unpleasant they were, my mom and I weren't expecting how organized and friendly Dr. Tran and her stuff turned out to be. Maybe there are so few Yelp reviews because Dr. Tran deals with a lot of elderly patients too. After seeing how well my first few check-ups went, mom switched to Dr. Tran as her primary doctor on her health insurance too. I'd pick Dr. Tran as your primary care doctor too if you can. It's been almost a year and I haven't had to change my primary doctor at all compared to before. I could feel her honest concern for her patients health. I have been a patient of Dr. Tran for many years. I have several complex and serous medical issues, and she always finds time to review all aspects of my conditions with me, and makes a point to make sure I understand her orders and directions, she reviews my prescriptions, and consults with my specialists as to my course of treatment. She listens to my concerns, and addresses them promptly. She follows up, and contacts me to review results of tests or lab work that may require immediate attention. I believe she has saved my life on at least one occasion, her acting promptly to get me treatment from the result of medical test. Doctor Tran is professional, very good with kids, and I can always get in to see her if my son is sick. She remembers my son and I and everything about our files and is happy to see us when we do come in. My son actually smiles to her, even on flu shot visits. Dr. Tran had been my doctor for 5 years and I feel quite foolish for keeping her as my doctor for so long. I have had an neuropathy since age 2 (I am now 29) which means I need to be seen by a lot of specialists. Pros: 1. She generally writes your prescription in a timely fashion 2. She generally granted most of the my requests to see a specialist (I initiated) 3. Miley the receptionist is kind and easy to talk to. Cons: 1. She is poorly staffed... she has no nurses and nurse practitioners on her staff and she is the only doctor. 2. She has a tendency looking at her watch consistently and making you feel rushed. 3. After five years of being my doctor, she knew nearly nothing about my condition.... Which she actually admitted to when I brought it to her attention after we decided she would no longer be my doctor. 4. During the course of five years she only initiated that I see a specialist once. All other times I had to initiate the process myself. It is clear that I have a physical disability and should be seen by several different specialists. My current/new doctor since September 2013 has initiated me being seen by several different doctors which lets me know that I did not have unrealistic expectations of Dr. Tran. 5. Due to the nature of my physical disability I requested that the doctor request of the insurance to run a specific test. Dr. Tran told me that I probably had nothing to worry about and the insurance most likely would not authorize this request because I am young. I kindly and patiently explained to her despite the fact that she was my doctor and could clearly see that I have a physical disability that my circumstances are clearly not of someone typically in their 20s. After going back and forth with her, she put through the request and insurance with no problem at all authorized the request. Dr. Tran should be ever so grateful that I requested this exam because the results were what I expected and had I not had the exam and something had happened to me I could have sued her. 6. As it was nearing five years, I honestly informed the doctor that after several years she knew almost nothing about my condition, almost never initiated that I see the specialists or have any special tests run, she seemed not to be invested in my care, and that I could have complained to the insurance and a written bad review about her. Instead I wanted to tell her face-to-face because I believe that is the fair thing to. She thanked me and instead of saying she would try harder, she simply said that it was great that I was invested in my own health care. I in no way expected an apology because I understand that as a doctor she clearly feared being sued by a patient if she admitted to a mistake. Unfortunately, her care towards me as a doctor went downhill and I had had enough. I have never in my lifetime written a bad review about a doctor but I wanted to prevent someone else from going what I went through. I am happy to report that I currently have the most amazing Dr. and I highly recommend doing your research beforehand and finding yourself a good doctor. read more

This review has nothing to do with Dr. Tran from a personal standpoint. I found her easy to talk to and she was thorough with my concerns. The average review has to do with her office. It's unorganized and not HIPPA compliant. When checking in, all patients fill out a slip of paper attached to a clip board. This piece of paper specifically asks for your name and reason for visit along with a handful of other questions. When I filled out this form the assistant at the front desk did not remove that sheet from the clipboard sitting in front of her for 15 minutes. Another patient who showed up after me filled out her check in sheet after reading mine. Where's the patient confidentiality in this format? I also gave an average review for the wait time in Dr. Tran's office. I waited over an hour for an available room only to fill out new patient information then be transferred to the actual exam room. Although her staff was apologetic for the wait, better organization seems necessary for patient satisfaction. Bottom line: don't schedule patients every 15 minutes if it takes 30 and follow HIPPA standards. If you're time isn't valuable and you're not sensitive to patient confidentiality then definitely make an appointment with Dr. Tran. read more

2014 was time my first time seeing Dr. Tran and honestly I have never met and have a doctor as sweet, wonderful and gracious as she is I love my doc from the first we met (lol, sound a lot like love right ? lol) straight to the point and her staff? My adult child went to Dr Tran recently for an immunization but received the incorrect vaccine. I said to the MA that it was a MEDICATION ERROR but the MA said that Dr Tran said it was ok my child got the extra dose. Honestly it was a MEDICATION ERROR but they didn't admit to it. Luckily, my adult child only had sore arm from the two injections but imagined if the patient was an infant or child. What would happen if it was a different medication....its a scary thought.... Make sure your child gets the correct immunization...double check and ask. Im very doubtful how competent are the MAs and Dr Tran. read more
