We were in town for three rounds of golf at different courses and this one was by far the most expensive and the worst. The other courses had GPS in the carts and this one does not. We couldn't find any ball washers, which is really needed in this muddy course. Each hole only had a hole number but no signage as to par or distance or direction. The greens were all crab grass and could use some landscape assistance. Watch out for the Starter who yells at you to stay off the fairways to keep the course pretty, but it is not well maintained, so doesn't make any sense. The course was also packed on a Saturday pushing play to over five hours. There were Rangers but they didn't seem to help speed up play. The beer selection is pretty good and there were at least three beverage girls driving the course. There is a pizza grill at the turn. Parking was limited and we will not be returning.

My friends and I came here for my birthday! It was a fun fulfilling golf day! I was even given a $100 bill by another golf player I didn't know. He over heard it was my birthday and said it was tradition for him and his old military unit to do something like that. My friends and I being veterans ourselves, we were like wow that's way cool! I was really impressed when I came here with my friends on my birthday. This golf course is really fun to play on. Their driving range is not bad at all. You get a code to get a bucket of balls. Before you know it your tee time is coming up. So if you're planning to warm up, make sure you get yourself early. Now for the beer and snacks at their lounge was amazingly priced! They have a great selection of beers. Overall this place is beautiful and gorgeously maintained. Plenty of parking, however, definitely get here on time to get your 18 holes in. I am looking forward to coming back and hitting some balls again and play game on the course.

I occasionally tag along when my guy golfs - lovely ride together in a park for me, some us time, etc. Today he and his bestie had a tee time at Shadowglen. The bestie is a walker - he's got one of those golf stroller thingys for his gear. It's about 46 degrees and breezy. And we get to the 1st tee box ... most of the fairway for hole 1 is underwater. They can tee off but have to drive halfway around the back of the course to get their next shots. Me and my guy are slightly inconvenienced - we're in a golf cart. Our walker? Screwed. So he goes back into the clubhouse to see about a solution. Shadowglen's 'solution' was to charge him full price for a cart (that he would only need for one hole). I get that flooding due to rain is outside their control. But I think it's a jerk move not to come up with a better solution for their patrons. We won't be back.

Course was not well kept, and pace of play was terrible. Save your money and go play a better course for the money.

The staff are always respectful and courteous. I can express enough how friendly they are here. Most golf courses usually can be staffed with pompous people. The course itself is a full 18 holes. You can play all 18 or just 9 holes. The up keep with the maintenance of course a lot of folks who are pro players most likely would want to not to play on this golf course. But of course your preference and opinions. My opinion, I still have fun playing on this course. Sand pits, well all you have to worry about is getting out of San Augustine grass if you land in one that used to be a sand pit. You can crab all your beverages and food from the main building. After the 9th you can park your cart and take a break from playing. One thing I that I do like about this place you can bring your own Yeti like cooler that is empty. All you have to do is buy your beverages from here. Other wise you get a plastic bag with ice and your beverages. I wished you could pre-order your food prior to playing the 9th hope. That would save customers time and delay on the course if they are choosing to play through. On the 10th now, it's very short due to road construction on Kelly Lane. This place is close to my neighborhood and I really enjoy playing here.

However, due to the heat and my limited time recently, we decided to make a reservation and give it a try. Honestly, we had a good time. We played a game against each other that was a bit like bowling, where you earn points based on where you hit the ball. We played three rounds of that game, as well as another one that was designed to mimic playing at Pebble Beach. Unfortunately, the more realistic game didn't appeal to us golfers, as we couldn't get a true sense of the flag's location, among other factors. We made a 90-minute reservation, but they literally shut everything down right at the 90-minute mark, which was disappointing because one of our group still needed to hit four more balls to finish the game properly. They offer clubs that you can use, or you can bring your own. The clubs provided have a peculiar feel, but they are easy to hit, which is likely their intention. The facility has three floors of bays. Some bays feature high tables while others have couches with tables. I'm not sure how to reserve each type, but I'm glad we got the couches instead of the high tables. I thought we would avoid the heat by going in the morning, but the way the bays are oriented, they actually get full sun during that time. As a result, you cannot use the screen at the mat because the sun shines directly on it. I would recommend going around noon or later to get more shade, especially during the summer months. As for the four-star rating, I have to mention a $12 per person fee for first-time visitors. While I understand it's a one-time charge, it still feels a bit off. I'm impressed with the technology, and I'm sure I will return in the summer months when I want to escape the heat for five hours. The place does show some wear; the couch cushions could use a refresh. We did not try any food or drinks, but a quick glance at the menu revealed prices that I found a bit high. I did see ads for what appeared to be a good family deal for just $170 during the summer, which would be a bargain. The mini-golf course on the main level needs some attention; it's uneven and not flat. Additionally, there are some issues with the main entrance due to road construction on Burnet, which would have been nice to know about before we arrived.

That's a whole different experience. No worrying about the heat or cold, great food and drinks delivered right to your table, and plenty of laughs with friends. The FABulous Five Yelpers decided to hit up Topgolf, and of course, in my rush to get out the door, I forgot my phone...basically my human appendage. I didn't realize it until I was almost there, so I had to make a U-turn and head back home, which put me a bit behind. By the time I arrived, everyone was already checked into the Topgolf system. One of my friends asked me to play for her, and luckily, I won the first game...great start! I followed that up with a second-place finish in the next round, which wasn't too shabby either. Another game and I dropped to the bottom portion of the screen. Our area was on the first floor about mid-field. The open air, covered golf session was enjoyable. To be transparent , I didn't go to Topgolf to sharpen my golf skills...I went for some good, wholesome fun with friends. We covered just about every topic imaginable (dating, vacationing, zodiac signs...to name just a few) and spent the rest of the time laughing and enjoying the moment. Another set of great memories with the FABulous Five.
