Gary was very helpful in my purchase of a bowling ball he took the time to insure a good fit and provided a ,lane to try.out the new ball.

I moved to Lakeway this past September 2024 from Houston and had researched to find a ball driller in this area. Gary Robinson's name came up with every person I asked where he does ball drilling mainly at Highland Lanes but also at Westgate (Tuesdays only currently). I ordered a Columbia 300 Piranha PowerCOR Pearl and a Motiv Crimson Jackal (both 16 lbs). My compliments go out to him for two main reasons: 1) his main concern right off the bat was getting my thumbhole right as I use a tight thumbhole that's almost a press fit (tapered with tape tighter at the bottom) and 2) he requested that I warm up so that he could watch my delivery, tendencies and determine my axis of rotation in rolling my ball!! His experience and efficiency in drilling both my balls has me recommending him as the best driller that I've ever had! He's #1 in my book and did it right the 1st time!! read more

Gary took excellent care of us. Recommended excellent starter equipment and measured and drilled our bowling balls while we were there!

Gary is a down-to-earth pro shop owner. He's willing to help observe your approach and suggest new gear to help, without being pushy. I got back into recreational bowling this year, and found out that everything I owned (except for the bowling bag itself) either no longer fit, had hardened with age, or was falling apart. I didn't want to go off the deep end all at once, but I needed to deal with a few things right away. I've worked with him on something a simple as a shoe order and as complicated as a new ball. They also helped drill out my existing 40 year old ball in the meantime so my adult fingers fit it. Although I was mortified at my fossilized circa 1970s "Dick Weber Wrist Master" support, Gary told me he was selling those up until just about a year or so ago. He was able to find me a new one that would fit. Although my back has decided for me that bowling is on the back burner temporarily, I do have my eye on a new ball. If and when I pull the trigger, you can bet it will be with Strike-A-Lott. read more

The staff and shop are amazing! Everyone is kind, forthcoming with their knowledge, and make people feel comfortable. They never over sell or make me feel pressured by always explaining my options, pros and cons, and future promotions. Prices are inline with online prices and service is exceptional, so why not support local? I'll be back here for all needs. Social distancing and COVID guidelines are well established and enforced in the alley and shop. I always feel safe here as fellow bowlers respect the guidelines. read more

Had a great experience here. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. I needed some new bowling shoes and they explained that they had a large shipment coming in a week or so, but that their stock was currently low. He asked me if I saw a pair that I liked and I selected one and he said he would special order it for me. It came in the next week and was a great fit. I've bought 2 bowling balls there and am getting to buy a third. I've also had both balls detoxed and sanded to the out-of-box grit. Both Gary and Jeff are very knowledgeable and personable. I highly recommend this pro shop to everyone! read more

Had a great experience! I used to bowl a lot before my injury 4 years ago and just got back into bowling with 4 year old bowling balls. Jeff had me bowl a couple of frames and said there was nothing to be changed with the balls and they still worked. I wanted new equipment though to keep with the ever changing oil conditions and we talked about the new balls and how it fits with the lane conditions. I ended getting 2 balls (under no pressure) and they fit perfectly. I haven't found a pro shop in 4 years (last balls were drilled by Rod Ross) and I am so happy to say this will be the only Pro Shop I get my equipment at. The staff just advises on what they see out on tour but do not pressure you at all to buy what they recommend and will listen to you. First couple of games so far with the new equipment have raised my average by 30-40 pins. read more

Well, what can I say about Strike-a-Lott Pro Shop that you may not know. The guys that run they shop are awesome. I remember the first time I went in the shop some years ago; and Gary asked me to trust him. He drilled me up a Storm IQ and that is my favorite ball. True professionals, extremely knowledgeable of the game and science of bowling. It is located inside Highland Lanes. Great place to get a bowling ball or anything else you may need. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. They are very patient and listened to all of our questions and gave us great advice. They suggested a ball for us and we tried it out that day and were very happy with its action. Utterly indifferent when my husband and I walked in to check out bowling balls. Two guys were chatting in the office. Husband and I hovered around in shop area for about 10 minutes. No "Can I help?" or even an acknowledgement that we had walked in although they both looked up when we first arrived. read more
