The don't even clean the rooms or make the bedd between days. I was afraid to use the shower and the whole place smelled like urine. Worst place I've ever experienced. Update: At 5AM this morning the police showed up in the parking lot and for over an hour kept demanding that the person staying in the room next door come out with his hands up. Charming place.

The woman in the office seemed either very distracted or very unorganized, as she took forever to come to the window and to find my reservation. When she finally came back with my reservation and I handed her my ID, she looked at it and said, "You reserved under a different name." "Uh, no I did not." "You reserved under Karen?" "No. I did not." I repeated my name and waited some more for her to find my actual reservation. She gave me the key, and my friends and I went to room 107 to unload our stuff to find that the room she'd given us had only one bed. I went back to the office to tell the woman that I had reserved a room with two full beds. She had accidentally given me Karen's room. She apologized, and I said it was no big deal and took my new room key. We were moved to room 112, but when we tried to use the key, the door lock neither beeped nor lit up and the door wouldn't open. I returned to the office again, saying, "I'm sorry, but--" Before I could finish, she handed me another room key and said, "It's the next room over." I tried to explain, because I figured she should be aware of the fact that one of her locks was broken, but she continued to interrupt and dismiss me. I took the key to room 114, but again the door would not open. The lock beeped, but we could not force the door. I sent one of my friends to tell the lady what was going on, because I was too frustrated. We were all tired and just wanting to sleep for the limited time that we had. The lady came and opened room 112 with the master key and said she simply needed to change the battery in the lock. We immediately inspected the room. It smelled of mildew, there was a live cockeroach in the bathroom, and one of the dresser drawers was missing its front. We asked for a different room after pointing out all these things to the lady. With everything that we'd already put up with, she moved us to a better room. Room 127 had a king bed, a full bed, and a couch. The upgrade compensation and the fact that the location was convenient is the only reason this place would deserve a single star, but there were still problems. It smelled better--like someone had just sprayed febreeze throughout the room. The mildew smell came back later. There was a broken tile on the shower floor and a small pile of rubble. The shower handle fell off as soon as we touched it. Another cockeroach appeared during our stay. All in all, this place didn't deserve my money and should probably be torn down and turned into a drug store.

I was looking for cheap price and Red roof is indeed cheap in terms of price and customer service, their value is cheap, their hospitality is cheap and workers their definitely need to go back to training. One of those moment where you look for cheap price and ruin your hair color or the quality is so bad that you want to punch yourself out of frustration. This is how red roof made me feel. We were 4 adults and 2 puppies both below 85lbs, I called their reservation line to book. I made it very clear to the agent that we are 4 adults and that we have 2 pets, the agent said I was good as long as they were below 85lbs, our German shepherd is a 7month old and 75lbs and Yorkshire is 10lbs 10months old. We got their and their was nobody. It was pouring heavy outside and the lobby was dark and I felt like we walked into a haunted place and than a woman came out of nowhere and I said hi we have a reservation and her response was immediately - we don't allow dogs!! I was like what do you mean cuz I called and confirmed for the same reason cuz your website says your hotel is pet friendly. And than she was like shut and stared at me.. I have a reservation and I clearly told the person on the phone that we have 2 dogs and she said 1 pet pet room. The next thing she said was there is only 1 room booked and I told her yes, 1 room but 2 queen beds right- she went NO!! And she also said only for 2 people it says on the reservation. This isn't the worst part. This business literally didn't want customers. I have never felt so un welcomed. Than my brother wanted to use rest room as we were driving for hours and the front desk was we don't have restrooms. Seriously?? Where do you pee?? All things apart now I am on the phone with their main office and people just hang up. Finally got to someone and she was the worst guest help line worker I have ever come across. She was worst than the front desk her tone and mostly her brain and their policy was shitty, I lost all my patience while holding my pee and dealing with them and my sister took the phone and she put the phone on speaker and she said they will have to check the call recording and get answer maybe Maybeeee in 48hrs. Are you serious? We are in-front of your hotel reception. She said she cannot do anything. In 48hrs we will already be checked out cuz the room was for 1 night only. NO empathy, no apologies nothing. My sister called Sonesta and we went there with $80 more, we walked in and the front desk was very sweet and immediately got our rooms ready. They had free breakfast, very very clean. Our room was like 2 bedroom 1 room had 1 bed, the other room had 2 separate beds and two separate bathrooms. Fully equipped kitchen. All workers would smile and greet. It took 5mins for i us to check in and while checking in we used restroom at the lobby. Red roof should not be in hospitality industry.

I just happened to see something come through my newsfeed over Fb, I bookmarked it, found my schedule open, so headed east to check it out. Emma likes to play in her room... and who doesn't like to play with little spirits?! I didn't know the history of the Magnolia Hotel so was totally clueless walking in the door... Magnolia Hotel has been on Ghost Adventures on Travel Channel. Also, Magnolia Hotel is ~not~ a hotel, it is now a personal residence. To my delight, I was able to hear stories of the old hotel, tales of it's past residents many of which have never left, and how Magnolia Hotel was discovered by the owners. Jim & Erin saved the Magnolia from being demolished... they single handedly have saved a part of Seguin history!... and some haunted history at that! I spent about two hours just hanging out, looking around, and people watching... talked to some interesting people, listening to questions and answers... all very interesting. Did I have an experience? I had something creepy go up the back of my left neck and skull as I was talking to a ghost hunter in the original dining area where the owner was sitting. I also felt some weird things around the house... but something I brushed off at first until I started listening to others talk about it... when you first come up the stairs, it feels really heavy. I originally brushed it off as I just walked up the stairs... but no, go back and you feel it... and everyone was feeling it!!! Emma was playing in her room. One of the guides said just a few minutes earlier, a little girl got scratched. Then someone told her that they saw the door knob in the pink bathroom turn back and forth. The owner, Erin, said this house is more active during the day than at night. Wow! The owners Jim & Erin host a ghost tour in their home on occasion, which books up months in advance. The tour last about 2 hours with in-depth stories which might also include a spiritual reading from the Erin at the end (but only if deceased wish to come forward). Erin has written Haunted New Braunfels, Haunted Seguin, and soon to be released Haunted Magnolia House. All proceeds go towards restoring the Magnolia Hotel. I can not wait to go on their ghost tour!

We will be appealing with Airbnb no doubt - just unfortunate as now there are extremely limited options available and everything has gone up immensely in price. Steer clear of dealing with this company at all costs - they will leave you high and dry whenever it is convenient for them. The staff was flexible to shift timing of the experiences so we didn't have to wait long in between- they were extremely accommodating and we never felt rushed either. The otter swim/playtime experience was originally what drew us, and it was even better than I'd imagined. Worth every penny! Then we got to feed and pet the capybaras, which were way friendlier than I thought they would be! The babies enjoyed some extra belly rubs too. Bottle feeding the kangaroo was so fun too- little Dundee was SO soft and loved all the pets, even gave us kisses! The giraffes were super friendly and greeted us every time we were nearby; feeding and getting quality time with them was an extra treat. The safari ride tour was also amazing- 5 of us fit comfortably and got to feed/see lots of animals that we wouldn't normally get to experience. We were surprised at how this place wasn't crowded at all in the middle of July when it is peak vacation season, so it really felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. They also have a beautiful main lodge area that is comfortable and welcoming with additional animals to enjoy.
