I am so happy I came across The Plantation House during a Google Search. I was looking for Bed and Breakfast places in Texas and it popped up. I immediately fell in love with the pictures of the house, rooms and landscape. As my boyfriend and I entered the gate to the estate, I felt like I was going to Downton Abbey or was about to enter a Hallmark movie. Upon arrival we were greeted by the friendliest Inn keepers Luey and Norris. Luey gave us a tour and she had some homemade cookies and banana bread waiting for us. I was excited because banana bread is my favorite. My boyfriend and I stayed over New Year's. He and I were upgraded to the Honeymoon Suite. His family showed up later that night and stayed in the Harper Suite. We were fortunate that we had the entire house to ourselves. The beds were the comiest we've ever slept in from a Bed and Breakfast or hotel. The linens were of the highest quality. You will get a really good night's sleep and won't want to get up out from under the covers. The decor of the house was beautifully decorated. The Christmas tree was still up and just simply gorgeous. The weather outside got down to the 30s so Luey made a fire in the living room for us. The first morning Luey made us German pancakes topped with blueberries, strawberries, topped with whipped cream and a side of crispy bacon. The second morning we had homemade biscuits topped with a meat gravy and a side of eggs. She made extra biscuits and we had them with homemade fig preserves from her garden. The third morning we had homemade french toast, crispy bacon and boiled apples. Luey is not only a FABULOUS cook, she has the best personality. She goes over and beyond to make sure you are taken care of and feel comfortable. Luey and Norris make you feel like family. We had an exceptional stay at the Plantation House. Just minutes away from Austin, this serenity place is near anything but away from everything. Luanna and Noris has put a lot of thought into all of the details in the room and the guest experience. Our stay here was exceptional. We stayed at the Harper Suite which was perfect for our family of 3 people. The suite is a two-room combination with Jack and Jill bath. It is so beautiful and extremely clean. Delicious home baked fresh cookies and bottle water welcomed guests upon arrival. My 11 years old son loved checking out the frogs at the ponds, watching the horses in the pasture. And most at all, he said he had the most delicious banana bread and breakfast ever. Top notch bed and breakfast. Highly recommend. read more

BED AND BREAKFAST: We did a 2 nights staycation here and it was AMAZING. The property is so pretty and relaxing. It was everything we were looking for. We essentially stayed in and did not leave the property at all. We got food delivered from broth and basil. Property: Located in Pflugerville. There's Target/ Costco and a lot of restaurants less than 10 minute. Even though it is close to all that stuff, it feels very private and secluded. You can't even see the house from the road. There's a gate out front that signal the entrance that lead to a long driveway. It's like you transported into a different time/ location. Master's Suit : I love this room. It was so pretty. We got this amazing bed, love seat, balcony and bath tub. I took full advantage of the room amenities. They also have roku in the room. We binge watch so many movies. Food : Luey made us some amazing breakfasts. We cleaned our plate and would have licked it if it was socially acceptable. She also baked banana cake and cookies for guests that you can grab yourself. I had wayyyy too much banana cake and cookies. They were amazing. read more

My husband and I spent the weekend here celebrating a few life events and I'm so glad we did. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this place. It was easy to find, close to many fun things, absolutely beautiful, and one of my favorite places I've ever stayed at. Once you get there, you get a very peaceful feeling driving through the beautiful area up to the house. The house is incredible! It's very homey yet you have lots of privacy and feel you have the place to yourself. Luey is such a kind and welcoming person, and her cooking is soooo good. She had homemade cookies out, which I could not stop eating, and her breakfast is so delicious. She made an omelette that was the best omelette I've ever had! The inside is sooooo beautiful; as well as, very modern. There is a pool, a lot of land to stroll around, a pond, a pretty gazebo with a comfy swing, and many many many more areas/aspects that make this place incredible. We sat in one of the bench swings at night, just taking it in and watching fireflies. So peaceful. I can go on, but you should just go see for yourself how amazing it is! read more

We couldn't have found a better place to stay. The Plantation House is gorgeous. The rooms are comfortable and have everything you need to make you feel right at home. I loved this venue. I loved the owners. The curb appeal of this venue is beautiful - featuring a lovely water feature and a large white house with elegant columns. The outside venue areas are well kept and perfect for an elegant wedding - complete with professional landscaping, tall trees, a gazebo, and crystal chandeliers. The reception room is all glass walls, which can be opened up. And the ceiling is draped with sheer fabric and soft lights. To top it off, the owner is so sweet and helpful. I could tell she loves her job and takes pride in her work. I would be totally comfortable with her taking charge of our wedding. :) While the price was a little high for our budget, for most, this may work fine. But I do truly appreciate that the venue offers a lower price to weddings of 50 or less. Thank you for that! This venue is beautiful. read more

The Plantation House is probably my favorite wedding venue in Austin. Not only is the house beautiful, comfortable and aesthetically pleasing, every event is organized with precision from a facility standpoint. The family that owns the house does a great job running the show while leaving room for third-party planners and vendors to do their thing. There are various options for where you can have your event on the premises. There are a couple of smaller rooms inside, plus some beautiful spots outside to cater to larger groups. Probably my favorite thing about the PH are the reception tents. They have a couple of different sizes, and when it's cold, there are heaters to make you feel like you're inside. They have it down to a science, so if there's an event at the PH, it's going to be good. I highly recommend hosting your event or wedding at the PH. It's run by a great family that truly cares about people and making sure your event goes off without a hitch. read more

My fiancé fell in love with this venue online. She looked into the venue's preferred florist/decorator (Luanna Clara Design) that the Plantation House has on their web page, she looked over her blog website then followed Luanna on Instagram and just loved her! (My babe always has good instincts about people!) She said that she just had to have Joanna's venue and Luanna's help... She got her way. She called Joanna one day and received a phone call back the following day. Our emails are always promptly responded to even when we think they'd be asleep! We booked the venue without visiting it first (we live 6 1/2 hours away), but we do not regret doing so. The home, landscaping, gazebo, reception hall are much more beautiful in person. Joanna and Luanna have really made my bride feel like she should feel during this planning time. Our wedding in April will certainly be amazing thanks to the incredible attention they have showed her since the beginning. I intend on writing a post wedding review as well. This review is long overdue, this place and the family who run it are nothing short of incredible. I've known Joanna (the coordinator and owner) for years and she is a wonderful person. I've seen her family host beautiful events and when it came time for my own wedding there was no contest, this was the place I wanted it. Joanna walks you through every step of the process, she also sets up all the decor the day of so there is no stress for the bride. Very reasonable priced for the venue, all of our guests (especially the family from up north) said this is exactly what picturesque TX was in their minds. Stunning photo opportunities, which means you can actually save money on your decorations and just use the beautiful backdrop of the place. Sadly, the Plantation House is no longer a wedding venue. I contacted them and I was told they are now only a B&B and choose not to host events. But it is a beautiful property and the person I spoke with was very nice. I am hoping someone will realize the need for a nice wedding venue in Plfugerville and open something soon. read more

We drove from Houston to Austin to visit this venue after trying to schedule an appointment for days (no answer on phones). When we arrived, we were disappointed to see it closed and when we dialed the number on the keypad to try to contact the office, they said they were closed and that we had to schedule an appointment in advance. The curb appeal is lackluster. Right next door to a trailer park. We will definitely cross this off our list. read more

I'm surprised no one has reviewed this from a guest perspective, allow me to begin. In a nutshell, its beautiful but not functional. For starters take your expected guest number and divide by 2. Now you have your guest to bathroom ratio. Yes. 2 toilets for guests to fight over as they attempt to contain themselves after hours of food and booze. NOT NEARLY ENOUGH TOILETS!! Next, they do not answer the phone. I called after my husband and I had trouble locating it ( there is a google map glitch which doesn't show the driveway) only to hear a voicemail that pretty much says "we're too busy to answer the phone". They could at the very least have prerecorded directions available, but they don't, so good luck to all who use google maps. Also, the entire wedding and reception takes place outside. The only time we were in the tent was to eat. Well this is Texas, so just know now that you and everyone at your wedding will be miserable from months April through September. And the dance "floor" is a cement walkway/porch area. Cement is not a dance floor friends!! And my feet were eaten alive by ants due to all the outdoor activities. In summary, I think this place is beautiful and has so much potential to be a great venue but, as is, it's lacking. read more

We stayed here for a week in June visiting relatives and quite honestly could not have made a better choice of accommodations. Innkeeper Luanna simply oozes Southern charm and hospitality. She is breakfast maker extraordinaire and the consummate hostess. She and husband Norris are like good friends you never knew you had. We were able to host two pool parties for our local family members who were all made to feel as welcome as we were. If you are lucky, as we were, you may have an opportunity to see the resident bobcat family cavorting in the backyard. We have stayed at many B&Bs all over the world and Plantation House ranks up there with the very best. I cannot imagine any reasonable traveler being disappointed with a stay at this fabulous lodging. read more

The Plantation House is an incredibly beautiful venue for ceremonies and receptions. Our guests could not stop gushing about how beautiful the property was! Aside from it being a gorgeous and romantic venue, Joanna and her team run an impeccable operation. Everything from set up to grand exit was executed flawlessly. I truly cannot say enough good things about them! When I first told my photographer that we chose the Plantation House as our venue, she told us that we would be very well taken care of there. She could not have been more right! Immediately upon meeting Joanna, I felt so comfortable with her. She is sweet, professional, and responsive and was genuinely excited for us and our wedding. Throughout the planning process, I never had to wait more than a day for her to respond to an email. Each time we interacted with her we honestly felt like we were the only wedding she was concerned with (despite knowing that the Plantation House is booked for weddings almost every weekend). I had my wedding at The Plantation House a week ago, and I can honestly say it was perfect from beginning to end. I looked at a lot of venues online after I got engaged, and the Plantation House wasn't one of my top interests, however, it happened to be one of the first ones to call me back for a tour, and so we went out to check it out in person. The minute I drove up to the tall wrought iron gates and country lane I was in love! Joanna and her husband own the property and manage the weddings, and she was so sweet and soft spoken that I immediately knew she'd be a comforting presence on that crazy day. The grounds are immaculate and beautiful, with gardens and a gazebo for the ceremony, and a lovely permanent white tent-like structure with glass doors all the way around that open to let in a breeze. The house itself is impressive when you drive up, with the big white columns and the sweetest bridal suite I've ever been in. There's plenty of space for pictures and guests to stroll around, and even though it's right off the highway you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere. The post would get too long if I went into detail about the great service at my wedding, so I'll just say that every minute was perfectly orchestrated and the entire garden and tent glowed with twinkle lights and chandeliers after dark. All my guests kept telling me what a beautiful location it was. I highly recommend The Plantation House to other brides who might like its elegant yet southern style. This place was a very nice place but when I paid my final payment it was hard for me to get in touch with them. What ruin my big day was that they were being very rude to my relatives and friend towards the end of the night. They made my bartenders stop serving alcohol an hour before my schedule PAID time. They were suppose to box my stuff and have it ready for my relatives to take home instead they stared and gave them ugly looks. To top it all off, I had to call and email them to ask for some of my stuff that was left there since they were pretty much kicking us out b/c they called the cops on us. The cops even said they couldnt do anything b/c we paid for this service. Therefore, my relatives and friends left b/c they kept giving us ugly looks and joanna's hushand (yes, owners husband) try to start a fight with my little brother! What kind of business are they running like this?!?! The next day I came, they couldn't even face us. They just said they'll have my stuff out on the table outside!! Yes, my cake, candy, guestbook, etc was outside!!! I still have stuff I didn't get back but I rather not have to deal with them anymore. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone unless their service gets better!!! Never in a million years I thought this would happen to me on MY WEDDING DAY!! read more

What a beautiful venue, with wonderful staff. We had my daughter's wedding there 6/25/16 and it went off without a glitch! The ceremony was outside at 6pm - a bit hot, but knew it would be. Then cocktails/apps outside, with the air-conditioned house and reception building/tent to use by those who didn't like the heat. Tent had plenty of space for tables and large dance area. Some used the fire pit, as it looked so beautiful. Fabulous experience! Definitely recommend it as a venue. read more
