It's like someone tried to slap lipstick on a goat and call it a getaway. Everything felt sorta clean... like "good enough if no one looks too close" clean. The house was barely ready, and don't get me started on the random weeds and junk out back. Then there was a full-on wedding using the amenities, and the Tubbs didn't warn us at all. Add in some snippy parking attendant and... PeeeeYew the whole visit stunk And the hosts? At first they apologized for screwing up... then ghosted like moody teenagers when I followed up. Total lack of effort, zero pride, and no clue how to run a proper guest stay. My money is on all their stars are... Incentivized, but that's just what I think; who knows? I've stayed in barns with more hospitality. Literally.

Not only is the house beautiful, the interior of the house is warm and inviting. Our room was spacious and relaxing. Our bed was so comfortable, it was hard to get out of bed. (In a very good way). The house has a great backyard, with plenty of mature pecan trees that provides plenty of shade so you can sit outside and relax. The property has beautiful landscaping, and really helps you decompress. Danni and Mark manage the B&B, and they live on site. Danni is very friendly and she goes out of her way to make sure everyone is is having a great experience. Danni creates some of the best breakfasts that we have ever had, and her creations could be on any fine dining menu. We met Jeannie, the owner, and she was very nice. We also met some great guests, and one couple lives near us. We really connected and we will be going to lunch with them in two weeks. We will definitely go back and visit on our next trip to Georgetown.

My wife and I wanted a nice place to have dinner and Andy made some great recommendations and called in the reservation once we decided. There was no wifi while we were there, but this is not the kind of place you should be on wifi. The backyard with the chairs and swings beckons you to sit back, enjoy the view, and decompress.

02 Apr 2023…read more Reluctantly we go home today. Our two-day stay has been idyllic. This is the word that sums up this bed and breakfast. As stated before, the owners are nice, perfect hosts. They are welcoming and accommodating. The breakfasts are better than even those in the best restaurants. The selection of Keurig coffees is ten-fold. But it is the tranquility that makes it so hard to leave. Sitting on the back yard river decks, we saw hawks, cardinals, sparrows, pigeons, ducks, herrings, humming birds and woodpeckers. Someone's herd of cows comes down to the river to drink and then return home. Also, kayakers row by and wave to you. Taking in the sunrises and sunsets almost made us regret living in the city. They are so beautiful at the Perry River House. Go there.

They had a few sleeping options but we opted for the cottage a 1 bedroom cottage that sleeps 6 comfortably has a wooden patio with seating, AC, a cable TV, bathroom & mini fridge & micro. Clayton, the owner, gave me tour & as I walked the farm I couldn't help but be overwhelmed with the smells & it wasn't manure!! The roses, herbs & other flowers, amazing how many times I stopped to; "literally smell the roses". As I toured what stood out was the meditation labyrinth, the drum circle room, the party barn & the tree houses. These folks have thought of everything! Have kids? Well they will love the animals, treehouses & swings. Love nature? You'll love the vegetable garden, flowers & thoughtful sitting areas. Are you a hippy? Then you'll love the meditation labyrinth, drum room or fire pit. Maybe your a big family or want to have an event? They have an awesome room they call the party barn with pool table, shuffle board, full bar, kitchen & thoughtful decor. Enough of my stereotyping but you get the point, they have a variety of activities to suit almost anyone. We were planning to go to the nearby state park but after settling in & seeing what the farm had to offer- we didn't need to move. Probably more amazing then the surroundings & thoughtful activities are the owners themselves. Marsha is a talented artist & Clayton a sort of renaissance man himself were very welcoming. We struck conversations right away & within a hour or two were invited to join them & another couple staying on the farm for dinner. It's so refreshing to get to know humans that reach out to others, people that don't make you feel like strangers. If you are close or even if your not & desire a retreat from the norm both scenically & socially, try Waits farm retreat. I think you'll be happy you gave it a try.

This place was so unbelievably peaceful and serene and the owners Clayton and Marsha were absolutely amazing and now have become part of our little family! They were very welcoming and it didn't take long for us to invite them to hang out and spend time with us. Two of the best people I've met, the grounds were beautiful, the cottage was adorable, just what I needed to relax and get my mind off my hectic city life. I went to Sage Hill Spa with my peers for a staff wide mental health day. I live in Austin, so it…read morewas about 20 minutes outside of town but since it was in the opposite direction of traffic I didn't mind the drive. Upon arrival, our supervisors provided us with a day pass to the spa which included, access to the grounds, trail access, pickleball access, library access, breakfast, coffee/tea, an hour long massage and a boxed lunch. We started at the pickleball courts and we were the only ones out there. The staff provided us with pickleball equipment so don't worry if you don't have any! After a few rounds, we then went to the spa to get our massage. In the massage building there were four separate rooms and a bathroom. Everything was clean and smelled amazing. A male masseuse then guided me to our room and ensured I was comfortable and asked if I had any areas I wanted to focus on. The massage was INCREDIBLE! My peers had nothing but great things to say about their experience as well. One masseuse was even experienced in pre-natal massages. The boxed lunch meal was such a delicious treat. It came with a sandwich, cookie, drink, chips and a salad. After lunch, a few of us walked some trails and sat around the fire pit. I would recommend sage hill a hundred times! If you're looking for a weekend getaway, a date night, team bonding, or some quick personal self care, Sage Hill is it!

It was around 9 PM who does this?! Talk about going above and beyond she really did it!! We slept well and rocked on front porch the next morning listened to the birds, morning breakfast was absolutely fantastic - there were four of us and everything was just beautiful and delicious -- the entire property is amazing and very comfortable we stayed inside the main house on our first visit to the Rose Mansion which was only last Thursday and we loved it so much we stayed again last night - this time we stayed in the Garrison cabin and it was so quaint and peaceful Kay is the best host and can tell you many interesting facts about the property nevertheless the beds were comfortable the accommodations were wonderful The feel of the property is very peaceful and relaxing and the town of Salado is absolutely charming! We will be returning!
