Not only can you not lose because this is a FREE tour...but you will gain so much interesting info!…read more I'm sure hopping on and off a bus would be just fine, but for us, with just one short day in this vast city, we were looking for a quick connection, and that's exactly what we got on this recent Sunday. We met our tour guide, Ali at the designated time (11am) at the designated place, and 20 or so of us enjoyed an incredibly interesting walking tour of Chinatown. There is no way we would have gotten the feel for this city had we not taken this tour. Several folks were repeat tour guy visitors, so they must have enjoyed those as well. Our group had folks from several countries. It is a relaxed tour at a pace that is just right...not too fast and not too slow. Seriously, just right! And absolutely everyone in our group was happy to hand over generous thank you tips. Well-deserved. Ali was kind enough at the end of the tour to guide anyone who wanted dining suggestions or directions. For us, he was even kind enough to let us walk along with him since we were heading in the same direction. As a result, we were fortunate enough to get an extended tour, as he remained a wealth of Vancouver info as we went along. Highly recommend!

She pointed out some places of interest, told us the history of Chinatown, took us to a herbal store, and ended the tour at the Chinese Gardens. The tour was over 2 hours, and she gave suggestions for lunch. I love these type of tours because they are given by people who have lived there for a good amount of time, and who are passionate about what they are presenting. She was no exception.

Check their website for details, or visit their facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/BakerBus/ We used their service while visiting the area and our rental vehicle was not equipped for snow roads on the mountain. They are prompt, friendly, and reliable. Couldn't find any reviews for their services, so this review is being posted in case others are looking. Their bus service is basic at best. These are not luxury loungers, they are converted school buses from yesteryear. The buses have padded seats & interior heaters. They are equipped with a rack on the rear for hauling skis and snowboards. They are driven by friendly staff that know the mountain roads well. The service is CASH ONLY, and although their website says $10 per round trip ride, that is only to the lower White Salmon lodge on the mountain. A ride to the upper Heather Meadows lodge (which offers basic rentals & ski/snowboard lessons) will cost you $15 per round trip. When we rode during the December holiday, the bus was pretty full of young mostly snowboarders. They're cool, and fit the demographic of the service. If you're the wealthy skier type expecting premier service, this isn't for you. We drove our rental vehicle up to Kendall, WA, to the Starvin' Sams convenience store & parked along the edge of the lot. The bus showed up promptly at 7:45AM. While waiting to load, the driver gives the spiel about the cost and destinations. He's a cool dude and patiently answered our questions about which ski area to go to given our level of experience. Our ride up the mountain from Kendall included a stop at Glacier for a bus change since we were headed to Heather Meadows. We transferred on to a smaller bus of the same style for the ride to the ski area. On the way up, they have everyone fill in a sign-in sheet which they use to ensure everyone is accounted for before they leave at the end of the day. When we got to the ski area, some basic instructions were given regarding load & leave times, what to do if you leave early (or otherwise won't be taking the bus back) and how to access the bus during the day. After a great day of skiing, we piled back on to the bus at the designated load time and did a roll call to ensure everyone is accounted for before leaving. The bus arrives before the first lifts open and allowed us to get into the rental shop well before the main crowd. By the time we got our rentals & lift tickets, the lifts were opening up at 9:00AM. The lifts close by 3:30PM (no night skiing here). Load time is 3:00PM and departure is at 3:15PM. By 2:30 we were exhausted and ready to return the rentals and head to the bus. After a quick roll call to ensure everyone is on board, we headed back to Glacier & Kendall. I gave them a 4 star due to, well, they're not a luxury service. But for their friendliness, promptness and service, no complaints. Next time I'm in northwest Washington and plan to ski Baker, I'll be using their service again.
