I really wanted to give a better review but the end result cost me. They can't drywall. I was doing a home renovation and my contractor recommend Severson. There were a lot of little things that bothered me but, overall, the re-pipe was complete and good. The problem came with the drywall patching. The renovation was all but done but when the kitchen and family room ceiling was painted, the massive patch areas from the drywall repair looked TERRIBLE. Even the Severson drywall guy said he was embarrassed by how bad it was. Now, after getting my house back, we had to cover the whole kitchen and family room in plastic so they could re-skin the entire ceiling. They did a terrible job covering everything, and my painters had to clean up all the overspray when they re-painted. We had to repaint the ceiling again - because of the poor drywall work - and Severson refused to reimburse me for having to paint the ceiling (a second time). $1800. Severson said they already went above and beyond by fixing the problem - really? They created the problem. I have a contractor and paint company all agreeing this should be paid by Severson. Now they are writing statements so I can file a claim with small claims court. It's a shame. read more

A job that should have cost $75 dollars at most was quoted at $178 dollars. Broke 3 weeks later under warranty which they didn't uphold. We noticed a small wet spot on our carpet and thought our daughter spilled something. We left for several hours and came home at 8pm the "spot" had spread to several different areas and was soaking wet. Called our HOA who called severson plumbing and Bruce called me right back. He was at our house within 15 minutes, and diagnosed the problem within 10 minutes and put a temporary patch on the pipe til the morning. Thank goodness it was a pinpoint leak. I was lucky enough to be referred to Severson Plumbing by a friend when she heard I needed a new icemaker line in my new condo due to improper installation by the previous owner. I had already gotten estimates from two different plumbers through my insurance and home warranty companies, but felt in my gut like they were making the job way more complicated and expensive than it needed to be. This is the first time we have felt compelled to write a review for anyone. Several weeks ago we had out of town company staying with us when I felt a wet spot in my walk in closet. I thought Sushi, our dog had had an accident. Several hours later when I again entered the closet the spot was MUCH wetter ! When I looked up the ceiling was soaked and one of the light fixtures was dripping water. My first thought was , it's a weekend, we will have to pay double and probably not be able to get someone to come out right away. We called a neighbor and they highly recommended Severson Plumbing. Kurt was there in less then an hour, fixed the pin hole leak in half an hour, told us what the problem was, chemicals in our OC WATER. We were pleasantly surprised at how reasonable the bill was for his visit and repair. However we did freak out because 20 years ago, we replaced the entire house with copper pipes, at a considerable expense and here we were facing the same problem AGAIN !!! But we had to do it or take the risk of further leaks and much bigger problems. No one looks forward to repiping, it's not fun, but this crew under Jeff were Professional, efficient, considerate, knowledgeable of what had to be done, always on time and made every effort to respect our home and it's contents. Friendly, professional, respectful, knowledgeable, and reasonable. Just to note, I did not have any specific work done by them on my pipes/house. But my interaction with them was definitely notable. I had an unexplained spike in my water bill and the water company and HOA noted that there has not been any reported issues in the area, and there was nothing wrong with my meter. But on my end I could not figure out what was going on that caused my spike in the water bill. I suspected a slab leak or something buried in my house or underground. So I called Serverson, referred to them by a friend who had work done by them on a slab leak at his place. I talked to Kurt first and he was very open to giving me info options and pricing and knowledgeable in general. He said he could come out for an initial look around, no charge. Hooray! My appointment was scheduled between 11a-1p Friday. He called a little before 11a and noted that he had a job that was more complicated then expected so would be late, closer to 1-1:30p. It wasn't a problem for me. He said he'd send out one of his other guys, Dan, and apologized for any trouble. I appreciate the early heads up, instead of letting me wait around without an update till the end of the scheduled time frame. Dan called around 1p and said he was on his way... and got there as expected around 1:30p. We discussed the issue, he did a thorough review of all the bathrooms, toilets, sinks, etc. He checked the main valve and meter. He used a sort of super stethoscope to listen to the pipes for any potential leaks. After listening to everything (and showing me how it worked, and explaining the tool and test), he confirmed that he did not think there was any sort of slab leak or leaky pipes in general. He then discussed with me other potential issues that could have caused the spike in my water bill and advised that I keep and eye on it further and call them back if it continues to be an issue. He was very friendly, respectful, and knowledgeable too. He took the time to review and explain things even through it wasn't a "paid" stop. There was no bs, and I really appreciate that. At the moment it seems everything is ok... and that has been supported as I have been tracking my water meter... but I feel confident in Severson. If I have any issues later, I would definitely check with them again. read more

HORRIBLE. I would not give this company any stars if possible. They claim to have 24hr emergency service, that's a lie! Called during this past weekend to report a leak, left a message. No one ever called us back! Called again Monday (after no one had returned the first call) and they said they would be available the following morning (Tuesday, almost two days later) to talk. Come to find out, this company doesn't want to send their plumbers out after 5pm because then they have to pay overtime to their guys!!! This is what they told us. Bottom line is they care more about their bottom line $$ than your leak or plumbing issues. When I called to confirm with the manager or owner "Curt" that no one would be available to come after 5pm, he was rude, he spoke over me, and ultimately hung up after I told him that I would let our Homeowners Association know of this poor service (as they promote them as the preferred plumbers of our community) saying "go ahead and do that" click!! Unbelievably horrible, horrible, terrible, terrible service!!!!! DO NOT use this company, call someone else for your plumbing needs. read more

Dealt with this vendor for years in our former association complex. For the most part, techs were pleasant but all services very overpriced and they don't stand behind their work. Had them replace a main shut off and within a few years, it was badly corroded/leaking. They came out to look and said they could not warranty it, because they don't know how much use it got...it's the main to my condo, how many times do you think it was turned? Wanted something like $300 to replace. Also had them out to another property for leak detection. After the visit, it was determined there was no leak. I spent $40 on a cheap inspection camera and found there to be a leak. Could have saved me a grip of cash if I had just done myself. I was recommended Severson Plumbing from an elderly friend of mine, who said that this company does most of work in her local, senior gated community in Mission Viejo. She said they are reliable and reasonably priced. So, I gave them a call. Everything my friend said was true about this company. Therefore, for over the past 6 years since my first call to Severson Plumbing, I have used them for several plumbing projects on the 3 properties I own. I have had faucets replaced, busted pipes fixed, clogged pipes cleared, and most recently a slab leak and repipe to one of my properties.
