I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Drain Town Rooter. I was told a technician would arrive at 8:00 AM, but nobody showed up until nearly 11:00 AM. We had to call multiple times throughout the morning just to find out where our technician was and when they planned to arrive. Once they finally arrived, I was quoted $900+ just to diagnose the source of a leak. I told them I had already received another quote for $700 that included both diagnosing and repairing the leak. They agreed to match the price, but the situation only got worse from there. After their inspection, they determined the leak was actually related to the HVAC system, not a plumbing issue. Instead of being honest and simply referring me to an HVAC professional, they still wanted to charge the full amount despite the problem being outside their area of expertise. What makes this even more frustrating is that the source of the water appeared to be obvious. The leak was coming from the attic, and there was visible water present. Charging $700 simply to determine that the issue was related to the AC system feels excessive and unreasonable. When I questioned the charge, I was told they had "done their work." In my opinion, a reputable company would have been upfront about their limitations, referred me to the appropriate contractor, and charged a fair amount for the time spent. Between the three-hour delay, poor communication, and what felt like an excessive charge for a diagnosis that did not result in a repair, I cannot recommend this company. read more

The technician insisted a standard snake wouldn't work and pressured me into a hydro-jet service. Because it was an urgent issue, I fell for their smooth talking. The actual job took only a few minutes, making the $1,895 price tag an absolute exploitation. After clearing it, they used a camera line and claimed roots were growing under my indoor concrete slab. They gave me two options: Jackhammer my indoor floor to replace the pipe for $12,000 (leaving flooring repairs to me). Reroute the line from the outside for $25,000.I declined and called Valley Rooter, a small local outfit run by Eric. Eric snaked the line, ran water, and thoroughly checked it. He found absolutely no evidence of a root problem and confirmed the line is perfectly clear. He also noted that his price for the drain clearing would have been $195. Drain Town Rooter used high-pressure scare tactics to try and take tens of thousands of dollars from me. Please save your money, protect your wallet, and call Valley Rooter instead. read more

They came and accessed the situation and told us that a pipe was broken and needed to be replaced. They replaced the one pipe. It took 2 1/2 days to complete the task. They charged $30,000.00! Yes that's right, (2) men, 2 1/2 days worth of work, 1 pipe and they charged $30,000.00! I asked for a itemized breakdown showing labor, material, equipment, overhead and profit. They refused to provide an invoice. All I got was a description of the work and a total of $30,000.00! I later learned that all their employees are contracted and on commission! Not the greatest experience. I called due to a slow running toilet. Not backed up, just slow. I called to take advantage of the $75 to clean a clog. The tech showed up on time and was very nice but he couldn't find the clog. Not sure why he didn't put the snake through the toilet instead of the main cleanout but either way, he couldn't find the clog. So he called his boss on speaker phone. I listened while the boss said probably need hydrojet and camera. I supposedly got a discount because I'm a Costco member. Brought the price to $2100 after I listened in to him telling the tech that the cost to really fix would range from $14-20K. I said whoa, let's hydrojet and camera and see what's up. Funny that he didn't really need to be on speakerphone because he called his guy with the hydrojet just fine without it. So I could smell the upsell tactic. Hydrojet and camera really didn't do anything but showed there "could be some roots". So there's $2100 wasted. After that, they decided to pull the toilet where they easily found the pipe just under the flange was clogged with roots. Seems like that would have been something to do before calling for a hydrojet. So then another call to the boss on speaker phone, who says there is a crack in the pipe and that's why the roots are there. They could repair by jackhammering out the pipe and replacing for $11K but lucky me, I could apply the $2100K already spent to get the work done for a cool $9K more. Of course, I would have to retile the bathroom. I said send me the quote, I got it but nothing was itemized. Red flag. I also did more research about the pipe replacement and found that it should be quite a lot less. Since it's not an emergency, I'm going to spend some time getting more reasonable quotes. Additionally, after doing some research I found that I could have gotten hydrojetting and camera scoping done at about half the price. I just fell for the $75 "get in the door" unclogging. When canon and Trent arrived they wore covers on their shoes and were very up front with everything. Issue:Clogged toilet. Quick in coming out - good Quality of work: not very good in determining the best approach to resolving the issue. Left without resealing the toilet. In trying to open the main drain they pushed the cap down into the drain. Costs: very expensive ! It started at $200 and ended up costing $1900 In the end they fixed the problem but left some work for us to do to fully complete the installation of the toilet and fix the cap. They came out to price reconnecting my dishwasher. Gave me a price, but recommended replacing the dishwasher since it's old. I took the advice and bought a new one. Didn't have it connected with delivery cuz the price I'd been quoted was less $. When I called Drain Town to come connect it took several tries to get someone to come do it. When they came out, it was a different service man because the original guy was " in the hospital " I can certainly understand things happen. The problem I have is that this new guy now charged me more than double the original quote because he said he needed a bunch of extras the other guy hadn't included. He said he had to make a trip to hardware store for supplies as well. Who knows? But it all seemed suspicious to me. I have been confounded for months by a plumbing issue at the house where only a single shower in the house was constantly fluctuating between hot and cold water. I researched and was advised by some other tankless water heater companies to clean the tankless gas water heater's filter or change the shower cartridge (greatest nightmare DIY task of all). I cleaned the filter and replaced the cartridge to no avail. Finally, I caved and called Drain Town Rooter based on a friend's recommendation. Ryan came out, saw there were no error codes on the water heater, diagnosed the issue in a few minutes, and educated me that tankless water heaters have certain water volume requirements in order to trigger the heating mechanism. He took one look at the volume of water coming out of our showerhead and figured out the problem. He cleared the showerhead for us and the problem was instantly fixed. Hot showers have returned without fear of a cold shock and even the water pressure is back to normal. All of this to say, I highly recommend Drain Town Rooter for any plumbing issues.
