Excellent!!! Pasta bolognese best I ever had. Tiramisu delicious. Very nice side salad with balsamic and bread also. Chicken parm also delicious. Would definitely go back. Service very good. We are from Butler and met up with friends for our first visit to Severina. Food was excellent from the appetizers to the main course. The bread, the salads, the drinks all rounded out what I would call a perfect dining experience. The staff were friendly and attentive. It was our first but not our last visit. I just had an amazing dinner at Severina. I had been wanting to try it for a while. I will definitely go back! It may help to have a reservation, especially on the weekend. It took a while for the food to come out, but it is all made to order and worth the wait. The service was excellent. They pay attention to every detail which is evident - from the drinks all the way to dessert. We'll have to return for dessert another time, but what we saw looked fantastic. The pizza also looks fabulous and we'll have to try that another time as well. My friend had some of the best pasta Bolognese I've ever tasted. I had the halibut served on risotto - delicious. Great food in a family atmosphere... the wait staff is friendly, knowledgeable and fun!! What a great neighborhood place... salute!

As I begin the review the prompts that show are food, service and ambiance so will use those as a guide. We sampled two appetizers and three pastas and three desserts. The food is good- chicken has the buttery texture and the pasta al dente. They seem to rely heavily on garlic. We were all tasting garlic for two days after. Typically in better Italian food there is a subtly or lightness of flavors. Their food is heavy. The tiramasu in particular is akin to a pudding- not light. The menu is brief and filled with simple classics. A few of the reviews mentioned a long wait. We dined earlier this summer and again a few weeks ago and both times waited more than two hours for our meals. No one keeps you informed or apologizes. It is obvious that no one cares that people are waiting for long periods. Some of the diners may have received a complimentary dessert, some but not all. A server mentioned to another table that they have online orders to fill. Restaurants have to pay their bills but as we watched the constant flow of orders going out the front and not to the tables it felt uncomfortable. For at least twenty five minutes no one was being checked on or receiving anything in the dining area - just the online orders. It felt greedy maybe? Considering Il Piz, Rico's, Franco's, Tambellini's, Angelos, their prices are reasonable compared to Severina. The ambiance is simple and noisy. It is a neighborhood spot and I well understand the positive vibes and wish them well. It was the first time I dined somewhere that I felt duped. read more

Everybody has favorite pizza shop in Pittsburgh, and Severina is mine. I love the four cheese Calzone, and any of their pizzas. But I most times stop by for the biscotti, gelato in the summer and daily desserts. The place is turning into a sit inside cafe as the bar gets built since opening. The patio makes for a great hang. But the best thing about it is it's all Italian. Like a shop in Italy - a little Italy right in West View. Beer and other beverages sold in the cooler and of course a full espresso bar. read more

Cute little family owned business in my West View neighborhood. The pizza is great and the gelato is TO DIE FOR. Seriously, best I've had in a long time! There's also a pretty good selection of beers available. I haven't tried any of their coffee or tea yet, but I'm looking forward to it. I had their pizza once before and I thought it was the best in Pittsburgh! I ordered a pizza with pepperoni on all but two slices because my grandaughter doesn't like pepperoni and I got the opposite. All cheese and two pepperoni. It was a dissapoint but next time I'll check it before I leave. I was disappointed but, I still have to say it was great! Great food. Nice people. my wife and I tried Severina for the first time and it will not be the last time. Great wait staff, the menu had some great options, I had the Carbonara and my wife had the Bolognese and we paired it with a nice bottle of wine. For how much people rave about out the food, we were underwhelmed. It took over an hour to get one appetizer, one entree, and one sandwich. Everyone says this place is slow because they're short staffed but that timing is too much. Unfortunately just underwhelmed by all of it. read more

Very disappointing first time at Severina. Arrived at 5:30 with about 15 open tables and the young lady asked if we had reservations. I said no. She then goes back to discuss with the manager , then he comes around to the counter. I asked do we need reservations. He said no reservations needed. We get seated and order our appetizer and a pizza. Appetizer arrived about 10 minutes later. 6:15 now and still waiting for the pizza. 6:20 I told the young lady to just box the pizza. The place was not that crowded to have to wait 40 plus minutes for a pizza. read more

The food was excellent. The wait staff was friendly and checked back frequently. However, we waited an extremely long time for our food. We received our pizzas after about an hour, ate those, and still waited an additional 20 minutes for the entrees. We never received the salads or bread, but our server boxed them to go at the end of our meal. At least we had the pizza to share with those waiting for entrees! It took us almost 2 hours to get all of our food. The kitchen staff cannot keep up with the customers. The restaurant is attractive but noisy. If they can figure out the prep, cooking, and meal coordination, we may go back due to the food quality (thus the 3 stars). read more
