I would love to give a food review but I can't. This place has an outdoor patio and is not dog friendly at all. We like to walk out dog to local businesses but we were told our pup had to go. The food is okay...the chicken is just about on par with Zankou and the garlic sauce is what Zankou's used to be before being pre-packaged. It's not as intense, but still tastes good. I stopped in to try their chicken kabob and tabuli and was a little disappointed. The chicken kabob was salty and I'm not a fan of the pickled turnips. However I did like the tabuli. I tried Shamishiri in Glendale the next night and it was definitely better in my opinion except they don't have tabuli for some reason. But their shirazi salad made up for it. We come here 2 times a week. Fast Service and Excellent Staff. The food is better than Zankou. Your really cant compare.

Food was decent. While we were eating, two guys came in, waited, rang the bell a couple times, and after a good couple minutes pass they walk out. Good decision too because the lady was still in the back for another 15 minutes. Jesus, foods decent i guess, restrooms dirty, service is very poor, and on the outside they have the chairs you sit in at school at the tables. I've been going to Zankou about once every 2 weeks or so, and several of my co-workers rave about this place, so I decided to give it a try. I ordered the 1/2 chicken dinner and one of my sides was the french fries. The skin on the chicken was quite flavorful, but the inside was juicy "regular" chicken. It was good, but the spices didn't seem to permeate the interior. The fries are the crinkle kind, which I actually prefer. I like my fries close to well done, which these were not. (as a comparison, Del Taco crinkle fries are better.) The pitas seemed kinda dry - I think there was a dusting of flour on them. Rice - good and lots of it. I couldn't finish it. Garlic paste - Great! It reminds me of how the Zankou garlic used to be before they went to the commercially produced type. I would probably eat here again due to the great prices. Another note: Several other posters had mentioned that you don't get a choice of side orders at Zankou. I've never had a problem substituting side orders on the plates I get there - Just ask! read more

Outrageous tasting chicken dinner and 2 for the price of one for a 1/4 chicken at lunchtime. At dinner, buy 2 half chicken dinners and get 3rd free. The chicken is hot, tender and scrumptious. The best sides are rice, salad, coleslaw and hummus. They also have fries, which are the frozen kind with crinkles you find in the grocery store. . Their eggplant dip tasted bitter, I did not enjoy that. Tabouli is expensive and an extra (not a side) but delicious and worth every penny. I usually get water though, they only have soda, no iced tea or lemonade. Fantastic value though! Try this place, you won't be sorry! read more

So many better alternatives in Glendale. Not terrible rotisserie chicken, but doesn't hold a candle to Zankou. This place is a weak imitation. I get takeout from here from time to time because it has some healthy options and the kids like it. But, if there were a Zankou closer to my place, I don't think I would bother stopping here. Sevan leaves Zankou in the dust. the lunch special is amazing . you get soo much food for around $7 they have to put it in TWO CONTAINERS! The counter ladies are nice and greet you with a smile. The chicken is cooked to perfection and the hummus is awesome. It can be hard to find a table during the lunch rush. Chicken is very good and so is the babbaganoush, hummus and rice. The restaurant has very little atmosphere so I recommend picking up food and taking it home. Staff is friendly and if you pickup two chicken dinners (after 4:00 p.m.) they give you another chicken dinner for free. read more

Ordered the chicken tacos and ended up getting 2 shredded chickens with lettuce in a tortilla n when I opened the foil the tortilla was soggy n wet. The chicken sandwich wasn't any better soggy and wet. Disgusting and to top it off it fell apart completely in a pita bread. I walked in and gave my order but apparently everyone after me that put in their order got it before my food was even ready or was it just there waiting to be given to me and getting soggy? The best lunch special! buy one get one free, quarter chicken with two sides (moutabal and fries are the best!) so for $6.95 you get 2 full fledged meals. The chicken is always moist and delicious, rice is super buttery and delicious. The meals are big enough to eat half for lunch and the other half for dinner. If I could give this place 6 stars, I would. Formerly Zankou Chicken, Sevan is my favorite Mediterranean style chicken. It is hard to cook a chicken better than these guys. They start off with their specially seasoned whole chickens and they put them on a horizontal steel spit. Each bird is cooked in a rotisserie fashion, to perfection. The most moist chicken I've had, beside my own. I think they may actually brine their chicken before they cook. And their rice is fragrant and perfectly Mediterranean in taste.Their pita bread is absolutely fresh and unbelievable! What really makeshift this place special, is they have a strong garlic flavored tzatziki-like creamy sauce. I have tried to make it, since I live in Texas now, and cannot seem to get it right. I have even had this sauce fedex'ed to me, that's how much I love their sauce. If you are in the Tujunga/La Crescenta area, go to this place and you'll see what I mean. I have to give something of a criticism, They aren't free? I wish they had more locations and I wish they'd open a store here in Texas. We had been ordering from the sevan chicken in glendale for quite some time. We would place orders for 20+ people being a small company but had been giving them good business. The past few times we have ordered, they have given us the wrong orders even after calling twice to double check and then when we did go back to get our missed items were charged extra for the things that THEY had left out. We had to wait almost an hour to get our order that has to feed our entire company even after ordering over an hour ahead of time. On top of all of it there were a few bugs in our last order that made our food inedible. I would not advise going to this sevan in glendale. I do not know about the other locations but this one has horrible customer service and is very unclean. read more

Have stopped in for quick dinner to go and lunch special to go, buy one meal and get one free, pretty awesome. Great hummus, salad is so so, but the chicken is seasoned perfectly. The only downside to the chicken is at times it can be a little over done. Like it's kept in the warmer too long, but it's not a big enough thing to stop going for a quick bite when you don't feel like cooking. Price is great too for what you get.
