Bear, the cutie in the cable knit sweater, sat nestled between Tom Petty and Dolly Parton. When she politely asked a question, she was told they were closing soon--despite there still being time left. When my mom mentioned she'd be quick, the employee rolled her eyes and responded with a sarcastic "yeah right," then exchanged looks with coworkers. Completely unprofessional and unnecessary. Also, they have a very large selection of outdoor lights (like if you have a light in front of your door or flanking your garage).

The main reasons we ended up buying from Blu Dot were both the quality/great selection of the products and the genuine helpfulness of the manager and her co-workers. We found each of them to be very knowledgable about the products, while also extremely helpful and good natured; appreciating that it is a process of fine-tuning and decision making when purchasing furniture..we never felt pushed or under any pressure to hurry up. When it came time for delivery, the manager could not have been more helpful..she was very attentive to details and kept us fully informed. I found Lawrence and Scott on the internet with no reviews and figured I'd give them a try. I spoke with Marcia over the phone who is like talking to my mom. So sweet and helpful! I had my electrician drop off and pick up the light. A few year ago one of the lights went out on my 1920's tole chandelier and then recently all the lights stopped working. I asked that they rewire it to work and possibly do some painting over rusty areas. They had the light I think a few hours when I got a text that it had been taken apart and fully cleaned and was being rewired. Shortly after they had it completed and tested for continuity and offered to have a UL label for and additional $75. They texted pictures and recommended we not paint it... they were right. It looks beautiful after the cleaning and the little bits of rust just add to the charm. My electrician was shocked when I told her it was ready for pick up. She was really pleased with the renovation. Washed, all new UL electrical parts, grounded and tested. Ready for a new life. From the phone conversations I had with the popular antique repair shops around town it sounded like the pricing at L&S was on the low side. A few places sounded to charge about double. No one mention anything about cleaning it... L&S didn't either... they surprised me with that. I am so happy to have found Lawrence and Scott! I have never had such fast, throw, and friendly help with my electrical repairs before. From now on they will be my stop for lighting repairs for my houses on the south side of town and north as well.

Maybe it's the carefully chosen selection, maybe it's the refreshing color palette or the high ceilings and open space that somehow seems intimate. Or it could be the friendly, super helpful owners. Or the distinctly distinctive overall feel of what they've put together. There's a big selection of furniture in their space all coordinated with accessories such as rugs, lamps pillows and all that, kind of modern and smooth, a little bit Asian, some very statement furniture and some just good design that doesn't call too much attention to itself.
