The huge wooden table outside is a giveaway for what's to come and you'll notice exceptional designs that come at a price. These folks use real wood and no MDF or Particle Board crap. This is absolutely a premier treasure trove with humongous wood slab samples the same way there are smaller furniture pieces you can grab from the floor. We took a look at the intricate wood detailing and knew we were in the right place. Tried to speak to a floor person but the owner's wife suggested we speak to him directly as he has a better handle on design. He was busy so we scheduled an early Saturday afternoon appt to talk to him about style and price. Mauricio was welcoming, knows his stuff and answered all our questions. But between an extremely hefty kitchen gut job+repair+cabinets+labor, we didn't want to break the bank for a small dining table. So when we gave him measurements for a 5' wood table with black metal legs, we were looking at $3,150. I get it...it's custom made. Eyes wide open. Not ruling these folks out yet. Even if you don't buy anything, it's a great place to get lost for a couple of hours.

Not only were they about $1,000 less expensive than the other companies we looked at, they were very friendly and accommodating. When our kitchen cabinets and our master bathroom vanity were installed and it was time for the countertops, they were able to come measure, and create the perfect countertops in less than a week! And I say perfect countertops because everything was AMAZING! They were able to cut one piece to fit around the corner!! Everything fit exactly to measurements! And they even matched up the veins in the quartz so that it looks like it flows from the island across to the wall cabinets! But the master vanity is the most incredible of all. We ordered a backsplash with it for the 2 sides with a wall, and they surprised us by matching the backsplash piece to exactly match the countertop in terms of the stone's patterns!!! We have been in the home improvement business for over 40 years and have never seen that kind of perfectly matching stone before! We HIGHLY recommend using Putnam Granite & Stone Fabrication, Inc at 100 Buckshollow Rd in Mahopac, NY!

After installation I noticed two chips, which I accepted because we were right in the middle of Covid and I didn't know what else to do, but they neglected to mention that the small chip could eventually result in a full-fledged crack which is what happened. I don't know if or how this can be fixed because I have not been able to communicate with the owner. The cost was over $8000 and now the owner, German, refuses to take my many many calls or respond to my emails. I even asked my contractor to speak with him, but still no communication from German. Go there for that, we may even go back to finish the basement stairs. However after 1 year holding off on a review I can't help but still feel the sting of a set of table and chairs we spent A LOT of money on and are ultimately disappointed with. We had done some research before coming in but were honestly novice. Thought we met someone who we could trust, who understood the quality we were looking for but once the set arrived by delivery (yes Bob from the showroom can be gruff), we were bummed and were stuck with It based on their Return policy. We vowed never again to buy from a picture on a laptop, which after spending so much time trying to find a set that we'd like, we just settled for in order to get something in the works for our empty new house. Had to learn the expensive way! *pictured: awesome runner; The "farmhouse table" which I was told was from North Carolina (via China) and bistro chairs $250 chairs that they told me we needed to customize cushions for starting at $48/pc

But, we found out our old laminate flooring was buckling due to a slow dishwasher leak, had to be repaired badly. The floor led to other problems and those problems led to a gut job. Let's talk about tiles. Sam's is small but has a lot of merchandise to choose from. Carmine (owner?) was all ears when we selected brand new Subway tiles for our new job plus he gave us some aesthetic advice (thank you Carmine, but we have a style already). One of the things hubs and I appreciated the most was that even when we questioned him about whether or not we should get an extra box of floor tiles to add to our existing 7 boxes we'd purchased back in April '21, for that "just in case" moment, Carmine wasn't hard-selling us into buying another case of tiles. Nothing but nice things to write about. And may I mention, Carmine was awesome.

Bill was genuinely interested in making sure I had the right information about tiles, the installation process and different techniques to get the best results. In the end, I had to remove everything down to the subfloor but I am so happy that I did because I will now avoid years of continuously having to repair a bad floor. Bill worked with me to pick the best floor tile for the design and price I wanted. He also met with my new contractor to make sure the floor would be installed correctly. It was such a good experience as a customer that I went back to get my counter and backsplash tiles. Bill was able to get all the products to me lightening fast and the quality was even better than I expected. Bill's expertise, compassion and great sense of humor helped me get through what started out as a nightmare. I now have a kitchen that I absolutely love! He and Carmine earned both my trust and my loyalty. I cant imagine working with anyone else in the future.
