We had our 10th Anniversary dinner here (06/30/2017) and it was fantastic. We had both the tasting menu and the day menu for sharing. We also shared a very nice and extremely affordable bottle of Vinho Verde. The three main dishes included Tuna Loin, Cod with roasted potatoes, and Veal cheek with mashed potatoes & mushrooms. All were served with great elegance and without the overly complex way fine dining chefs seem to want to execute these kind of dishes these days. Well done chef! The waiter worked the whole restaurant with help, as needed from the owner, and he did a superb job. Our entire meal was a total 64€ and was the perfect place for our special occasion.

Duck magret with sweet potato puree and orange sauce

Brilliant! Although they were totally booked for Valentine's Day, they went out of their way to make sure that we could dine there even though we had not booked. Also they do not normally open on a Sunday, but they did as it was Valentine's Day, and so glad they did as we walked around looking for somewhere to dine, most of the restaurants near our hotel were closed being a Sunday. A family friendly restaurant too, as babies in arms and young children were welcomed just the same. The ambiance was relaxed and intimate as it is quite a small restaurant. Finally, after waiting 45 minutes our table was ready. We had nowhere to go anyway, so was happy to wait, and while we waited we looked at the menu and enjoyed a glass of port from the Valentine's Day Menu which was superb value at €36 each: three courses, plus three glasses of wine (port, white and red), bread, bottle of water and coffee, and we could have half and half of the two mains (sea bass fillet with crab ravioli and duck magret with sweet potato puree and orange sauce), so that we could try both - what a lovely idea. So the starters came, shrimp tempura with wasabi mayonnaise - there were four each and they were huge, more like prawns! I always associate shrimp as being smaller than prawns. That was filling enough, but next came the half of the fish dish, but the plate was so big we thought they had made a mistake, but they confirmed that it was indeed half of the mains. Then the final half of the mains, the meat dish came, and continued to delight our taste buds. Finally, the dessert, dark chocolate semi-cold with red fruits as listed on the menu, so did not know what to expect. It was just divine. Smooth chocolate mouse with ice cream and red berries. My partner finished with coffee, and I had a cup of hot water. The waitress spoked perfect English, it transpired that she learnt it at a young age as her mother was a teacher at Oxford! The meal was a perfect end to a perfect Valentine's Day.

Great little hole in the wall restaurant with great Portuguese food and wine. Service is great and the food is very delicious. The octopus was tender and well cooked. The Chicken with coconut was also good. Definitely a place you should visit when in Lisboa..

4 course tasting menu, paired with wine. Excellent!

Four course tasting menu paired with wine was very good. Ox Cheek over mashed potatoes (if available) was amazing.

Very pleasant 3 course dinner in an upscale Sao Sebastiao neighborhood. Take the redline to the last stop, quick walk up Corte Ingles past shopping malls and Mercedes to find this gem. Arrived at 8 on a Saturday and almost empty despite the busy warning on Yelp. Maybe the crowds come later? The amuse bouche was a duck salad and then on to a savory vegetable soup that had lots of depth and great texture. The braised beef cheeks melted in your mouth and the cheesecake dessert was light and wonderful. House white was a light and bright wine from the Douro region in the north of Portugal while the red from the south was equally delightful. Out the door for 35 euros with a slight buzz and content belly.

a small cozy place where we could get real Portuguese cuisine. The place had an informal and cozy atmosphere, and there were relatively many guests. The food was great and I got some shrimp in a tomato garlic sauce for appetizer, and for main Black-Pig, which is a very special Portuguese pig race - it has a little more dark meat and something better marbling - it was an amazing tasteful right. If I would only rate the food I would give it 4 stars because the food was worth it. But the service was haphazard and we did not get our food at the same time, one in our group didn't get his main until the rest of us had eaten up (although we gave it a chance, but he insisted we ate our food while it was hot - and it would have been cool if we should have waited). If they check up on the service it could be a very good Restaurant..

Delicious prawns - must get bread to soak up all the love

Amazing dinner - 1. Tuna ceviche was perfection! 2. Baked cheese with honey- all I can say is that I will dream about those favors! 3. Prawns with garlic were delicious - you must get bread to enjoy all the love on the plate! Service was so attentive, polite and friendly!! Perfect last night in Lisbon

It's closed and been replaced by another restaurant. It's kind of a family-friendly, easy going place now.

We started with oysters--fresh, briny, and a clean way to kick things off. What stood out next was the cheese selection arriving early in the meal. Not the usual order, but it set a rich, indulgent tone right away and actually worked within the flow of the experience. The grilled bluefin tuna with razor clam rice was excellent. The tuna had the texture of a tender steak--meaty, structured, and satisfying--while the rice added a subtle ocean depth without overpowering the dish. The highlight, though, was the tagliolini with truffles. Bold, deeply flavourful, and unapologetically rich. This is the kind of dish that anchors the entire meal--easily the standout. Dessert rounded things out nicely. The space is stunning--grand, dramatic, and anchored by that iconic suspended dinosaur skeleton. It's upscale but energetic, with a crowd that feels like it came to enjoy the night, not just the food. Service was polished and professional. The team knows the menu well, offers guidance when needed, and maintains that balance between attentive and unobtrusive. And then there's the detail you don't expect: a DJ in the bathroom. It sounds gimmicky, but somehow it fits perfectly with the overall concept. This is a place that leans into the experience--and commits to it. Overall, JNcQUOI Avenida delivers on both food and atmosphere. It's high-end, a little over the top in the best way, and the kind of place you go when you want dinner to feel like an event.

Good luck choosing one, I went on my birthday and they surprised my wife and I with a special dessert...so I got to taste three different ones. After walking around the castle on a warm day, we actually felt more a beer than wine, but we wanted to try this place so we headed in anyway. The owners, actually from Brazil, are very nice. They generously gave us a few to sample and even brought out a few bottles that were not on the list, and one was a new bottle! Price of wine is not cheap, our glasses each cost €10 each, a pretty steep price in Portugal where a full bottle often cost less. However, considering the expertise and service, the welcoming and relaxed atmosphere, this is a lovely place to rest up a bit after visiting the castle.

It is a wine bar - though not with a huge menu or a million wine choices - but what really surprised us were the amazing meat/cheese plates. Both wines and meats are local, and the guys who work there will be happy to tell you more. If you are a little on a hungry side, I recommend getting their sandwich rather than the board, just because the bread they use is simply divine. Each sandwich is made to order with their beautiful pork meat (they call it ham, but we would call it prosciutto). The meat comes from the display in the window ( a bunch of hanging pig legs) and go through one leg a day during busy summer time. The inside of the shop is very intimate and small, so take advantage of their terrace and come after the sun is down.
